What travelers are saying
- chiltonFife, UK179 contributionsStayed for one night as we wanted to do justice to the Mezquita. This hotel met our needs very well. Good budget price, ideally located to explore historic Cordoba. Room was clean, well equipped and quiet. Hotel didn't have much personality but we knew that when we researched it. If visiting Cordoba again we would return because of its locationWritten March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland40,931 contributionsWhat one imagines as quintessentially Cordoba is realised here. Blue flower pots adorn the white washed walls. All resulting in a charming space.
Not surprising that it’s such a popular stop-off for so many.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very close to the cathedral.Written June 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- digitalrocCalgary, Canada1,869 contributionsAn orchard of trees in the courtyard next to the one of the greatest attractions in Spain, the Mezquita-Catedral. You can also go inside the bell tower, although I didn’t do this, but did make two visits to this area during my stay in Cordoba.Written July 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LoopChicagoChicago48 contributionsWe visited on a Thursday in April. Our first pass along the patios many were closed in the mid afternoon. Returned after 5pm and some were open but others required a ticket. I enjoyed the few we saw but it seems that a guided tour is the better way to see all the different patios.Written April 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RjessMMMVancouver, WA565 contributionsNice place to visit as you wander the city. I wouldn’t call it a destination to specifically locate but once you arrive, it’s lovely to look at as you take a deep breath from your hectic day. For those who need their Starbucks fix, there is one right there. Enjoy.Written November 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RjessMMMVancouver, WA565 contributionsAnother pleasant plaza to wander to. Wouldn’t specially try to locate it but if you happen to arrive there, it is just nice to take a pause and enjoy the architecture. We were there in the early afternoon on a weekday in November and the plaza was pretty empty except for some diners. I suspect much busier during the summer. Enjoy.Written November 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sally62Northampton, UK5,221 contributionsA gate in the city walls originally built by the Moors, if you enter through here you will be in the old Jewish Quarter where you will find lots of historical buildings, pretty streets, cafes and restaurants.Written August 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Itzik LTel Aviv, Israel4,219 contributionsA short route around the walls of the old city / Alcazar.
You can return from there after you finish the Jewish area and the Andalusian house.
The area is pleasant with blessings along it, nice to end a long journey in the sun of Córdoba
If you leave the Alcazar, you can do the area of the Jews and finish at Puerta de Almodóvar and from there walk back to the Statue of Averroes, along C. It was almost closing time so we couldn't go inside. We enjoyed the view of Cordoba and soon drove down hill before it was getting dark as it would be very dangerous driving on such road in the darkWritten March 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sally62Northampton, UK5,221 contributionsThe monument to the city's patron saint, San Rafael, is situated between the Mezquita and the Roman Bridge so you can't miss it if you are visiting. - Sally62Northampton, UK5,221 contributionsVisited on our way back from Viana Palace - a pretty flight of cobbled stairs with the Bailio House at the top. If you follow the pathway to the right at the top you will enter the Plaza de Capuchinos where you can see the statue of Christos de los Faroles. Really quiet when we were there in the afternoon so a good time to visit.Written July 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dimitris LSydney, Australia45,458 contributionsCalleja del Panuelo is a very narrow little street. We had heard of its existence so we looked for it and it was not hard for us to locate it, while walking around the streets of the city. The street, if one could call it a street, is so narrow that you can touch the building walls on either side without even having to extend both your arms too far. We felt a bit awkward while there, in case the residents were unwelcoming. Fortunately there was no bad incident! In fact the place looks and actually is quite lovely and rather welcoming. It's quite fascinating and there is a constant stream of visitors there. Worth seeking it out.Written May 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CymroCoimbra, Portugal3,357 contributionsOne of the notable examples of Spain's Arabic/Islamic past the Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba. It is here that the Mirhab de la Mezquita can be found. A Mirhab is a semicircular niche in the wall of a mosque that indicates the direction that Muslims should face when praying. The one in the Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba is easy to find and worth your effort to do so. The archway has a beautiful and on the wall above is inscribed Arabic writing. Probably some verses from the Koran.Written July 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
