What travelers are saying
- ebbfolRotterdam, The Netherlands2 contributionsWe got a great viewing of the full production line and also some showing of the production machinery as my boyfriend is very interested in that part. Tasing was delicious and well introduced by our host. No questions were stupid and we highly recommend to visit this winery!Written September 20, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Keith MPalm Springs, CA548 contributionsIf you want a very enjoyable outing in the mountains drive to the open meadows of the Gran Sasso Monti Della Laga Park. In the springtime there are millions of wildflowers of almost every color. Either bring your own picnic lunch or stop by Macelleria Giuliani to roast your own Arrosticini - small pieces of lamb put onto a wooden skewer and roasted over charcoal. You purchase your skewers of meat and your beverages, they have the charcoal already prepared, so you find yourself a picnic table, select someone to cook the meat, and enjoy the outdoors. It is an experience you must have if you are a visitor to Abruzzo. Tip - the summer weekends, particularly Sundays, this place attracts many, many people. Weekdays are better if you don't like crowds. Lots of motorcycle riders make this a destination spot on the weekends. There is one other place just up the road from Macelleria Giuliani that attracts even more people.Written July 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Victor SPescara, Italy3 contributionsI cannot fault the location or service and a better or more creamy ice cream would be very hard to find. When we visited there was music in the locality which added to the overall effect of a wonderful Italian experience.Written August 2, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jamaicaman43Crystal River, FL142 contributionsWe knew we would be traveling to Abruzzo for a few weeks so I contacted a few olive oil places and Matteo was the only one who ever got back to me! It was our luck though because we had such a great time. Matteo was so informative and his English was great. Above all the olive oil was superb. We definitely recommend visiting here if you are in the are. Thanks again Matteo!!!Written September 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FoodFromTheScretchSassa Scalo, Italy21 contributionsPretty and authentic Italian "around the corner" grocery store. Handmade mozzarella made here from people who work in the store. When we tasted it was still warm! It was superb and delicious. In addition we had an fantastic Italian lemonade Lurisia which is a very good drink. Plenty of other local excellent products (pasta, sweets, wines, liquors etc..). Good place for gifts.Written August 30, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ahmad M1 contributionI'm from Kuwait. I had an amazing bike tour to visit Pescara City and an extraordinary tour around Abruzzo with DiscoveryAbruzzo.
On the store, you can find a very nice souvenir.
Highly recommended!Written May 12, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Also the yogurts are delicious, perfect to refill yourself after a day among the splendid mountains surrounding the area.Written May 23, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wichard HLanobre, France5 contributionsCivico 45 is a nice little shop, like there are many others. The pictures are probably added by the owner, as it is in real life quite small and not extremely interesting collection. We travelled to this shop (it is NOT in the centre of Chieti) and were in and out within 1 minute.
Conclusion: visit if you happen to be in the neighborhood and looking for some accessories. Don't travel for it or expect too muchWritten August 4, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We stumbled across this lovely shop belonging to Armando di Rienzo. He was so friendly, telling us about the business, which was originally his grandfather's. A section inside with windows, is the old workshop, with the original tools of the trade. There is a mannequin, dressed in the traditional dress of Scanno, with ornate buttons, which were made in the shop.
There are some beautiful pieces of jewellery in the shop, which are very unique, I ended up coming away with two rings and two pairs of earrings, there was so much more that I would have liked but had to show some restraint. Prices are very affordable, considering you are buying a product not mass produced.
If you are in Scanno do visit this wonderful shop.Written June 21, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
