- Deb WReno, NV2,571 contributionsThis is just a stunning area. The water is clear and the beach is lovely. The colors of the water are mesmerizing.Written June 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- svedegMalta142 contributionsWe stayed at Hotel Sole which is in front of the beach side in the riviera area. During the evening we walked towards Hotel Sea Lion and you find restaurants on both sides, lidos with kids area and also a small luna park for kids in front Ristorante Lido La Riviera. The beach is shallow and there are rocks to stop waves (I think). In some of the lidos there was entertainment but normally it's only between July and august. From Friday till Sunday part of the road is closed so it give pedestrian more space to roam around.Written September 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hannahlouise310714Kent, UK1 contributionIt was a lovely and inexpensive day out with the kids, saw animals all really up close. Kids could almost touch the rhino and they really loved being able to feed the giraffes (something nowhere in UK really allows anymore).
It was great to see the animals up close but it was a little concerning that all the enclosures were very small and enclosures with geese and peacocks had no water and you could see flies and maggots crawling in between some of the geese feathers!! Yuck!! Also the rhino enclosure is really small considering they can run around at 30mph and it was in there with 3 massive bison type animals so they didn't really have room to do anything. The sea lion was trapped outside with no shade curled up in a corner and all of the animals seemed so hungry!
To be honest I feel that it's a great chance for kids to be close to animals in a not very busy zoo but they clearly seem to care more about the money they can bring in than the proper care for the animals which is really sad.Written June 1, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Louise DNewcastle, Australia20 contributionsFantastic 5 km hike to see the heart-shaped Lago Di Scanno. This trail is well marked. It’s tough but worth it - wear sturdy shoes, hat, and bring water.
You can start from Scanno (easier - 150 m climb) or from the Lake (harder - 230 m climb).
From Scanno put Vista Panoramica del Cuore into Google Maps and choose walking directions. The track head is behind Hotel Roma. Follow Via D. Di Rienzo and look for the trail on the right.
From the lake, the track head is directly across the road from Hotel del Lago.
Both track heads are well signed - see photos.
On the track you are heading up the mountain towards the south (left facing the lake). Follow red/white paint but specifically the orange paint as you get closer, this goes all the way to the heart-shape view.
If you get lost, both tracks converge at Eremo Di Sant’Egidio, which is on Google maps. Go there and find your trail.
I caught the bus back to Scanno.

- notb4mybeerProvince of Naples, Italy170 contributionsI was surprised to find such a great ski area so far south. The ski season is not long but for the time it is open there's some good skiing or snowboarding. The coverage is not always fantastic and I have jacked up my base on some rocks. Because the temperature warms and freezes there are sections where it gets icy. Best to go on weekdays if possible, especially right after a storm so you can experience at least a little powder. If you're new to the European skiing experience you should just know to never ever go skiing on a weekend. Europeans don't do lines at the lifts and will push and shove and stand all over your snowboard and the resorts tend to sell so many tickets that the mountain gets overly crowded. It's just not worth it. However, on a weekday, you can't beat this place without going all the way up to the Dolomites!Written April 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This beach is 5 KM, about a ten minute drive north from Vasto. You park in a car park area, then hike about 20 minutes down (at times) a decently steep dirt trail. We crossed new construction on a road, so (for better or for worse) maybe roads will go closer to this beach one day. The beach is straight up all rocks, about the size of your fist. My kids jumped off a gargantuan rock just off the shoreline. No services here. Where water socks if your feet are at all sensitive. Water is warm and clear, just like around the corner at Spiaggia di Vasto Marina.Written January 8, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
