The museum is not large in size but houses a handful of major canvases. Among the major works there is a beautiful Rafael portrait.

Grand rooms filled with dark antique furniture, tapestries and armour. Some good paintings too. Helpful guides. Impressive fireplaces.

There are long queues and security to get through but the views and architecture are simply a must see if you are in Milan - personally there are nicer church interiors and more to see at nearby museums, but don't leave this one off your list

An absolute beautiful art filled , once lived in apartment, turned museum. The art is not from artists that non art lovers would know but non the less quality pieces. It’s a great, interesting and FREE way to spend 20-30 minutes.

Enclosed in a small gallery in Castel Sforzesco, you will find one of the last works of Michelangelo. This unfinished Pieta is displayed simply in the middle of the room, so that you can walk around it and appreciate it from all angles. Having viewed the artist's work in the Vatican, this piece provides a glimpse of his process. Very fulfilling experience.

A beautiful collection of art, a must see for any art entuziast while visiting Milano. One of the most impressive museums at Castello Sforzesco.

This museum hosts collections of sculptures and artworks of the late-ancient, medieval, renaissance periods. There are over 2000 pieces on display, in rooms with frescoes dating from the Sforza (1450-1535) and Spanish periods (1559-1707).

There are several masterpieces on display, such as:
    - The Ducal Chapel
    - Several memorials, the most beautiful (according to me) the Gaston de Foix memorial,
the Equestrian monument of Bernabò Visconti, the Sepulchral monument of Regina della Scala,
    - Several tapestries, and the huge 16th century Banner of the City of Milano,
    - a huge collection of Lombard Romanesque art,
    - the armory, with various armors and a selection of white and firearms from the late Middle Ages to the 18th century
    - The "Sala delle Asse", frescoed by leonardo da Vinci, currently under restoration and only partially visible)

So alike others we found this extremely confusing to navigate - the map was not clear at all and did not show us the starting point. Once we had worked out this was the ‘haunted house’ we made our way there. Staff told us this was a no photo zone. To be honest there was not much to take photos of - it was very sparse in this gallery and I had so many what the …. moments, not having a clue what I was supposed to be looking at. In the first room I was told not to go ‘too near’ to the art, and to move back when glancing at it - it was basically don’t look at it, don’t breathe on it. At this point I instantly regretted the €15 entry fee but persisted on - thankfully it did get better once we got to the mushroom’s, shame it was more or less finished by then. There were staff located in every room, I’m not sure if they thought they were security guards but my god they were cold and stared you out throughout the whole experience, it created a bit of a negative atmosphere I didn’t feel at all relaxed throughout until there were no staff around, they almost made me feel like I was doing something wrong. Anyways all in all, I’d say definitely have a good look into it before deciding if it’s worth your time in term of the exhibits, was a bit bizarre on the whole.

Sadly, each exhibit has an entrance fee. In this day and age, this is antiquated. I would have seen more if there was a sliding fee on how many exhibits one visited. The free exhibits are nice. In the end, the space fell short of expectations and was disappointing.

My greatest concern is the customer service of the staff. The desk attendant was unpleasant and disrespectful. He worked at the garage desk and was very confrontational.

A nice museum with lots to see, even if it is not as impressive as the other museums at the castle it is still worth a visit if you have time.

Wonderful the gigantic wisteria that surrounds the church, it’s not true, it’s a magnificent idea of Leonardo Nava .
The sculpture unfolds from the stone floor at the side of the church and uplifting the stone of the facade. This art representation is made by more than 5000 twisted hazelnut tree branches of different sizes. It was made in 2018.
The deconsecrated church of San Sisto has used the studio- museum of Francesco Messina , 1900-1995, since 1974.
After using the inside space as his studio, Messina bequeathed to the city over 80 sculpture and 26 art works produced from the 1930s and these remained on show in the church as a reminder the artistic work done here.

Fascinating place!!! By accident on Monday I looked for museum which was open and I chose this one and have to admit it surprised me how beautiful place, building, story and art it contained. Small but with precious atmosphere. I appreciated detailed descriptions and with didactic part I felt like little child discovering world again! Deserves better marketing that people do no go there by accident but choose it because they already know about this beauty.
