What travelers are saying
- Jadranka PLondon, UK723 contributionsBeautiful area perfect for history lovers, hiking and water activities. There is a beautiful beach with clear water, perfect for relaxing and snorkelling. Hardly anybody around when we visited in May.Written February 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Diletta NLondon, UK13 contributionsThe stagno is really stunning, especially at sunset. It's easier to see the flamingos from the ss125, but the location is still peaceful and worth a visit. Just avoid eating at the Peschiera restaurant... If you want to save the 12 euros for the boat trip, take the service to and from la Cinta North (4 euros) and combine your visit with a trip to a very nice beach :)Written August 10, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I cannot recommend this trip enough. Thanks to everyone for a lovely day.Written July 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Well worth a visit on a hot day in an air conditioned car, when all the beaches are full.Written July 13, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ANNA PSliema, Malta190 contributionsI was there two weeks ago: ideal weather, very peaceful environment! I took some beautiful pics while we were driving by Lake Gusana. Very good food and very friendly service at Hotel Ristorante Gusana, with great views of the lake..Written July 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SalviaLondon, UK46 contributionsIf you are in the southern part of Sardinia then Stagno Notteri, just south of Villasimius, is certainly worth a visit. I had read reviews but was still surprised to see Flamingoes wading around the lagoon and managed to take some amazing photos. There are also some great beaches around the lagoon and plenty of places to park, particularly if you don't mind a short walk. Most of the parking was free, although they were charging 3 euros to park in the car park off via Nottari at the northern point of the lagoon but there is a good beach bar there, a lovely white sand beach, and sun loungers.Written June 12, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Salima KBruges, Belgium346 contributionsWe had a lovely pick-nick at the lake. a nice quite place all to our selves. best to bring your mosquito creme. the water was less inviting to swim in. not really clear water and also quite some current. so only for good swimmers. not really with kids. it was fun watching the water waiting to see a huge fish to jumpWritten September 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John SVancouver, Canada72 contributionsWe set out on this hike a year ago and turned back about two thirds of the way through because the route became a bit confusing and we were running out of light. This time we did it with a GPS and frankly I'm not sure why we got confused last year. Probably because the route moves well away from the lake itself at the north end, and we thought we'd taken a wrong turning.
It's a fairly pleasant walk taking about two hours to complete the circuit, but lake views are limited after the first half hour and we made the mistake of doing it second time on a Sunday, when everyone in Sardinia who owns a gun is out using it. I'm not necessarily against hunting, but the sound of guns popping off within 100 metres of you is a bit unnerving and if the hunters were wearing hi-vis vests, we weren't. In some parts we had to detour off the path because hunters were staking it out. There are signs forbidding hunting everywhere, but I guess they only apply to locations within sight of those notices. We had a similar experience two years ago on a Sunday hiking near Dorgali. We'll stick to cities and beaches on Sundays in future.Written November 20, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of hiking around in bushes with random arrows going every which way, but not indicating an actual site. Sad really.Written April 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
