We booked our access to this beach 48 hours before (on Heart of Sardinia app) as there is a limit to the number of people allowed on the beach. There were, however, tickets available on the morning when we turned up at 8am.
We stayed in a really cute B&B in Baunei so got to the entrance when it opened. Parking is at Su Porteddu bar. At the entrance there was someone there checking shoes to make sure we had the right footwear. It was quite a rugged hike and I felt more “moderate” than “easy”! It took us 1.5 hours to get there. Was definitely worth the effort with the view you got at the end! Take lots of water and food as there are no facilities on the beach itself. It is very stoney so we were glad we had brought our wet shoes with us. It took us the same amount of time to get back and we felt a little easier as was ascending rather than descending. We took a boat trip the following day around the Baunei coast and viewed the beach from there as the boats are not allowed to pull up in the beach. It honestly felt like a different beach viewing it from the outside! So glad we did the hike because it was a much better experience than just viewing it from the water. A really lovely day.

Gola di Gorropu was great! It was a nice walk, beautiful nature and good organized transfer by Jeep.

Had not planned to visite the caves, as we figured the 640 steps seem a bit much and the boat trip wasn't on our plan. So during one one of our outings, we decided to just head to Cappo Caccia to get the view point. There we found out Cappo is a military zone, and couldn't go any further. So we decided to do the steps and visit the caves. Didn't regret it. Cave are beautiful, the steps are not that tough, you can take your time with breathtaking view points along the way. Glad we did it. Plenty of trails for hiking in the area.

Reservation only, list of guides on the La Maddelena parks website. We thought this was an unnecessary hassle at first, but once we started we quickly understood the reasons. We had Giuliano as a guide, extremely knowledgeable of the area, plant and animal life, good natured & humorous. The trail is about 40-45 minute hike, steep in sections, some loose rock and very hot with no shade. When you get to the beach it takes your breath away, turquoise blue water and small fine sandy area and easy access, some juniper bushes scattered around the bay under rocks for shade, you can find a shady spot. Due to previous years of no regulation, the beach could not handle the amount of traffic (500 people in some days). A place this beautiful needs protection so I am glad to see the restrictions, and a €25 per person for a guide is well worth it. We biked to the parking spot, give yourself 1/1.25 hours from La Maddelena (some hills on the way up !). Met our guide there at 9am, he let us stay for 3 hours which went quickly. Bring a bite to eat and lots of water. You can stop for beers on the way down. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. Thank you Giuliano !

Finding details about tour times was difficult so we just showed up. It’s really not near a whole lot but gps and road signage got us there. There was only a German and French tour but we were game and it didn’t disappoint. The guide was great and the grottos are beyond cool. There is a lot of walking, many stairs and it is muddy and slippery. Wear shoes with tread and be prepared. The highlight of our Sardinian trip so far.

Worth going if you want to avoid the crowded beaches and have more of a Greek style experience on a hidden beach. There are people there but the sort of people who care about being somewhere unique and off the beaten track. Highy recommend. There is a lovely cafe above where you can have a drink and incredible views.
Note- we went to the wrong Cala Spinosa first- I realised afterwards there are two. The right one is near the light house.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful and mesmerizing landscapes on earth. It's unreal. Really does seem like another planet with the rock formations dwarfing people. The crystal clear waters, wide open spaces, beautiful walks and climbing. The hippy community are onto something. They have struck gold and are winning at life. I could easily do what they're doing, pack in my software engineering job and get back to basics. Spectacular to say the least. I could spend all day roaming about here. So far in my top 2 places in all of Sardinia along with Gola Di Gorropu. GO!!!

Rainy day but still worth going to see.
We still swam and it was really safe. Just watch out for sea urchin spikes.
    A great spot

We were recommended this walk by a Sardinian friend who told us about the stunning waterfall. We were not disappointed. We took our son (24 yrs) and his friend to see this stunning site. The walk down for 2K was harder than the walk back I thought. The time taken to do this was not as long as we thought. It was truly worth it! Swimming in the cool pool under the trickling waterfall was delightful. The scenery is gorgeous. I have never seen anything like it. Totally recommend it. We were not charged the 7 Euros either. Another bonus.

You can get there by car but it's a much better idea to hike from Santa Maria Navaresse - the route is absolutely beautiful!

A view to climb for, not easily accessed, craggy, rocky, at times a little scary, but wow what a view and the clearest aqua pool to dive in if you are really good! If not climb in , deep crystal warm water and a site to behold.

Wild and and natural. Big challenge to walk there and back. Warning you need good shoes, excellent balance and good level of fitness. I am not entirely sure if it is worth the effort, but once you are invested in making the 30 to 45 minute walk to get there on the final piece, one has to believe it was worthwhile. Be careful in going with family or children. The water was "dramatic" on the day we went there. Not for everyone.
