What travelers are saying
- GattoToronto, Canada4 contributionsThe food- the weather-the beautiful coastline
Cefalu is beautiful was a pleasant surprise. Parlemo’s street market was an
pleasant surprise to all the senses. Mon Reale was stunningWritten October 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had a couple of hours this morning in Palermo before we had to leave and chose this because it was close and looked interesting. (I'm a book lover and word nerd.) It totally exceeded our expectations. We didn't realize it was by guided tour only and so just showed up. They had to call the guy who could give the tour in English. Turns out, he'd worked there since 1998! So we waited around for him to show up, not sure what to expect. It was *amazing*. We got a personal tour that lasted about an hour, visiting the church and other spaces that all house books and manuscripts. Our guide (never got his name) was pulling books from the 1500s off the shelves and thumbing through them to show us. It was amazing. He was lovely and very informative and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves books, words, knowledge.Written September 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Journey044449386741 contributionWhile on vacation, I had to arrange a video call and had already checked out from my hotel. The staff at Hi! Hybla helped me out by offering me a room in the tourist information along with wifi and a power adapter for my laptop on short notice. As far as I understand you can use their room for meetings, too. Didn't expect this! Also, the staff was super nice and special thanks to Virginia who provided everything I needed on that day. Thanks! It was a really nice experience.Written September 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FatsiaCanada31 contributionsWe want to thank Lisa and Melissa for providing a wealth of information and advice on tourism in the area. The SOS Tourist Office is a very valuable resource in the community, providing excellent service to the travelling public and offering lovely souvenir items for sale. Lisa and Melissa gave us a wide variety of choices and ideas for activities during our stay, and the personal touch made all the difference. Thank you so much!Written September 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Daniela VCervo, Italia1,718 contributionsIt is not one of the hot spots in any tourist guide to the city, but it is well worth a peek, failing an available guided tour. The steps at the main entrance lead to the wide quadrangle, geometrically paved with cobblestones. In the centre is a circular lawn, with a horse perpetually grazing in it. In fact, it is a realistic sculpture. On the right, inside the cloister, is a less realistic elephant, another sculpture. This is all we could admire of the stately palazzo, but it was sufficient to unleash our imagination.Written May 17, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravellerNew York City, NY3,263 contributionsI visited the Biblioteca Comunale Sant'Agostino in Taormina in August 2019. It has an impressive exhbit of old books. Most of the books are in Latin. It is located on Piazza IX Aprile. I think it is worth the time to visit here after you go take photos of the sea from the nearby Belvedere. It is important to mention that it is free.Written November 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

It is beautiful; I wanted to stay there and study. The main hall of the library consists of a wood paneled room, with books on all sides and an additional story. There is also a room with manuscripts on display. Worthwhile!Written August 15, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel BLondon, UK5 contributionsOur trip of Noto Antica and the New Noto was very successful. Booking by email was made very easy, the guide was exactly where expected. Noto Antica is best seen as Info Point does... with electronic glasses for virtualization. Our guide was kind to take a photo of me and my wife and then emailed it to us -- best selfie ever. New Noto was really interesting as well, a wonderful town and well explained by the guide.Written September 1, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - patricia pMellieha, Malta89 contributionsWent to this fair by chance as heard about it whilst looking up local feasts. Huge variety of stalls but you must walk quite a distance to get to the actual stall grounds which are about half a kilometre from the entrance. On the day we visited there was a dancing horse competition and we also came across the local artisans who produce the horses' costumes and intricatley worked saddles. Definately a must.mIt is usually on in the first weeks of November.Written December 11, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
