- Marlyn M13 contributionsAbsolutely fantastic museum whether you are a cinema buff or not. Wonderful old posters. A series of themed rooms with relevant cinema clips from the last 100 years. We loved it. And a bargain priceWritten January 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- family_with_kids_001Ljubljana, Slovenia2 contributionsOn a rainy day, we visited the museum without any particular expectations, yet we left full of beautiful impressions. The staff was extremely friendly and made their best to explain stories behind each of the exhibits, describing individual parts of buildings and how they were made of certain material to resemble the real materials. We could touch each of the exhibits, which is the point of the exhibition primarily made for blind, yet great for anyone who wants to learn more about the most important Mediterranean buildings and their history. At the end of the tour we had a pleasant conversation with the crew and learnt some more about the Braille alphabet, which was also interesting for the children as well as ourselves. The kids said it was the best museum they have ever visited and it may be close to the truth as there are few where time passes so quickly and where you actually remember what you saw and learnt. Certainly highly recommended.Written November 4, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 370debLemont, IL8 contributionsAll the elements of opera, so loved by the citizens of Catania, can be experienced through a colorful puppet presentation (Arranged by your hotel concierge). Some of the puppet movements are more naturalistic than others and you can't tell if it is because of the puppet's structure or the ability of one of the dozen handlers. It's fun to figure out. As in all operas, there is the grand spectacular ending, as exciting and as much fun for the adults as the children in the audience.Written April 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mr WTamworth, UK5 contributionsWe loved this little hidden gem. The collection is extraordinary and the wonderful guides knew and loved each exhibit. A couple of hours spent in their company was (another) highlight of a memorable return visit to Catania. Grazie mille.Written April 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- chick676Oakland, CA51 contributionsWe arrived in Catania and landed here and were pleased to find such a charming place. It is one of many hotels that have made their space in the old palaces, a great use for these buildings. Our room was spacious and had all of the amenities that we liked: safe, AC, fridge, quiet, and a good breakfast. It is a little hard to find, but worth it. We ended up taking a cab from the airport, and if you do be sure to have the folks at the info desk call for the cab. The price is better.Written July 28, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JohnRegoParkRego Park, NY1,134 contributionsThis small intimate museum contains about 5 or 6 rooms of Bellini memorabilia, and is an absolute must for lovers of this composer's music. Beautiful portraits, statues, and musical instruments are on display in some rooms, in others there are scores and posters. This is the place Bellini was born in and raised until he was 16. The museum cannot be reached from the main street, but entered by a courtyard. When you enter, the entrance to the museum is diagonally across from the courtyard entrance, and up a flight of stairs on the second floor. The cheerful custodians of the museum will lead you around (in Italian) or let you wander. Admission includes entrance to the Emilio Greco Museum, in the same building, back down into the courtyard and up another flight of stairs to the third floor. This museum includes musical instruments owned by the Bellini family, but also includes graphic designs by Emilio Greco and contemporary artists.Written July 7, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - joycejakemanHerefordshire, United Kingdom52 contributionsWe had a lovely holiday on the Marella Explorer. The staff were so helpful & could not do enough for you, I left my glasses on the plane & reception bent over backwards to try to find them for me. Anjo our cabin steward was very good & made animals out of towels for our entertainment, in the evenings our room was tidied & fresh towels were provided this was after our room was done during the day, he & his team were organised. The cabin was specious enough with plenty of cupboards & draws & it was nice having a window. There was plenty of restaurants to choose from but the Market Place was very good with plenty of choice every day. Enjoyed the musicals in the theatre as they were well performed.
Our thanks to Captain Peter Harris & his team for a special holidayWritten April 1, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
