A wonderful Palazzo in central Catania, very beautiful and interesting. There are several beautiful rooms to explore and wander around, no guide or signage in any of the rooms but there was a guided tour. However we decided just to mooch around ourselves. Lots of photo opportunities and an escape from the heat of the day.

On a rainy day, we visited the museum without any particular expectations, yet we left full of beautiful impressions. The staff was extremely friendly and made their best to explain stories behind each of the exhibits, describing individual parts of buildings and how they were made of certain material to resemble the real materials. We could touch each of the exhibits, which is the point of the exhibition primarily made for blind, yet great for anyone who wants to learn more about the most important Mediterranean buildings and their history. At the end of the tour we had a pleasant conversation with the crew and learnt some more about the Braille alphabet, which was also interesting for the children as well as ourselves. The kids said it was the best museum they have ever visited and it may be close to the truth as there are few where time passes so quickly and where you actually remember what you saw and learnt. Certainly highly recommended.

The space is a bit smaller and you can went through all the art pieces in under 20 minutes. The artwork is however fascinating and I think it's definitely worth the money. The staff was very kind. There is no AC but the temperature was OK and way better than outside.

Lost my train and found this hidden little bar where I ordered a beer. The waitress asked if I wanted a Moretti or a Sicilian micro brew, and obviously I chose the latter. And what a brew!! I've had hundreds, probably more than a thousand different brews, and this is seriously one of the best I ever had. Incredibly balanced, full bodied, and oh so tasty! I simply love it, and I love this place! And Sicily. Right know it even feels like I love Catania.
And the beer has the most beautiful name: Ulysses. Brewed by the skillful Birrificio dell'etna!
    WOW!!

I wasn't very familiar with the work of this international sculptor who was born in Catania so seeing a whole series of his beautifully rendered etchings was a lovely surprise. He is a master of line and his works contain many romantic and touching scenes of men and women cozy connections.

We had a lovely holiday on the Marella Explorer. The staff were so helpful & could not do enough for you, I left my glasses on the plane & reception bent over backwards to try to find them for me. Anjo our cabin steward was very good & made animals out of towels for our entertainment, in the evenings our room was tidied & fresh towels were provided this was after our room was done during the day, he & his team were organised. The cabin was specious enough with plenty of cupboards & draws & it was nice having a window. There was plenty of restaurants to choose from but the Market Place was very good with plenty of choice every day. Enjoyed the musicals in the theatre as they were well performed.
Our thanks to Captain Peter Harris & his team for a special holiday
