The communication beforehand was excellent, timings and pick up confirmed in good time. Guide was very informative and gave insight on the route to Mt Etna as well as on the mountain. We managed to select a day which gave us great views on the mountain as well as the surrounding areas. An easy to book trip, well planned, with a great guide and value for money.
Our guide Moreno he was amazing, so knowledgeable, great driving skills, very kind and entertained us a lot during the tour. If you have never visited Etna, I highly recommend to choose this tour. Unfortunately we couldn't manage to reach to the top of the mountain this time because of the weather conditions, but we were so satisfied whole tour. Thank you Moreno, you are the best guide we ever had!
This tour was worth every penny!! Our tour guide was Giuseppe and made this tour the best experience ever!!! He is very knowledgeable, kind and patient. We were not rushed at any time on tour. Weather was beautiful so with Giuseppe’s help, we could hike to highest point possible of Mt Etna. We also visited lava cave. Interesting!
The wine tasting was fabulous and fun!!!! You will enjoy tasting wine, olive oil and jams while eating a Sicilian lunch. Go hungry because it is a lot of food!!! Delicious!
This was an absolutely lovely walking tour of Mt. Etna and the surrounding region including tasting delicious local food and wine. Our guide from Etna Tribe was excellent and the scenery is just beautiful.
I booked through an agent named Travel Taormina who was not good and I would not recommend, due to disorganization and lack of information. But the actual tour conducted by Etna Tribe is really great, so please book with them directly if you can.
This trip was amazing from start to finish! Our guide Nando picked us up around the corner from our hotel and then drove us to Syracuse whilst describing the history of the area.
We first got to the outskirts of Syracuse where we visited the Greek and Roman ruins for about 1h30. This was plenty of time and there was so much to see here! Some beautiful history, and he left us to explore ourselves after purchasing our tickets.
After this we drove to Ortigia island where he gave us a tour of the town for around 30 minutes whilst again explaining the history and interesting stories - he was fantastic! We caught the end of the fish and vegetable market here where we purchased some gorgeous fruit. After the tour he gave us 1h15 to get lunch and have another explore on our own. We sat and had a beautiful lunch by the water followed by the best gelato! We did not feel rushed at all and had plenty of time to enjoy ourselves and get the full experience of the beautiful island!
Finally we drove to Noto where he again gave us another tour before leaving us to explore for an hour on our own. We went up to the roof of a church with a wonderful viewpoint over the town before having a drink in the main square and enjoying the gorgeous Sicilian sunshine!
This trip was utterly lovely, not too much walking if you didn’t want to, and so much history learnt about Sicily. And our guide was fantastic at switching between Spanish and English to accommodate all tourists on the trip, even though there were only 8 of us! A must do from Catania!
We had a fabulous trip to Mount Etna, they contacted me as soon as I had booked it to arrange where and when it suited me to be picked up, I was arriving into Catania by bus and Ludovico was very helpful in advising me on where to get the bus to, the tour guide picked us up and was very knowledgeable about the history of Catania and everything to do about Mount Etna, she was so enthusiastic about explaining everything and you could tell it was her passion and not just her job. We stopped off at a honey and olive business to sample their produce and then proceeded on to visit a cave that had been created by an eruption. We finished off stopping at a crater that we could walk around and she even had some wine and cookies for us while we admired the stunning views all around us. It was a very enjoyable tour, great value for money and I would highly recommend it .
Roberto was very punctual. He organised us well, knowing the best places to stop, and gave us all the information we need to get the most out of our visit. He found us an excellent and very reasonably priced restaurant for lunch, and was a pleasure to dine with. Roberto was entertains, informative and friendly. The perfect mix. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.
I was not actually able to go on the trip due to illness. A serious cold, or possibly Covid, hit me the night before. I waited till the morning to see if I would be able to go and it was impossible. I emailed Dream Island via Tripadvisor at 7 AM about the situation. I simply wanted them to know that they did not need to pick me up. They surprised me by letting me know that they would give me a full refund in spite of the late notice. I will certainly book with them when I have the opportunity in the future.
What a fantastic trip. Luca, our guide, was excellent. He was knowledgeable, interesting and obviously enjoyed showing us an area that he loves. Pick up was from our hotel, we stopped along the way to look and take photos. We had a coffee at 2000 feet and then wine, olive and honey tasting. Luca was happy to answer our questions and we learnt loads about Etna, Sicily and of the mafia! Thanks Luca for a wonderful time. Hopefully you’ll get to ‘drift’ one day x
Our major goal for our visit to Sicily was to go high up Mt Etna . Thanks to our guide Saro we reached the carpark level at 1900 meters.
Weather is the major factor for any visit and we had a mix of snow and high winds. Saro knows the mountain so well that he can make the day memorable in any weather conditions.
We had a great experience visiting a 300 metre long lava tube, old craters, lookouts and lava fields. Had the weather been better we can only image how much better it could have been.
Saro is a very experienced guide, great driver and has a wonderful personality. He knows the mountain and the local roads so well that you always feel safe with him.
We highly recommend this adventure and advise you to bring gloves, beanie and an extra jacket to ensure you stay warm.
