- david nManchester, UK4,758 contributionsA two tier place, with most seating upstairs. Tiled walls and wooden walls throughout. Around 10 beers on tap brewed by their own brewery. Some beers are better than other so I always ask for a taste before plunging for a glass, and they are happy to oblige.Written March 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LautrevPerth, Australia206 contributionsWe did the Withlocals Amsterdam's Golden Age Architectural Gems Tour with Anna.
Firstly, thanks so much to Anna for her patience and for waiting for us when we got confused about our meeting place.
The tour was so interesting. Anna was very knowledgeable and explained the history of the buildings and various designs of the beautiful canal houses.
Would definitely recommend this tour!Written August 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Together with my colleagues, I enjoyed our self prepared five (!) course dinner with perfect assistance from our chef Willem. Also, Willem has selected excellent wines. I am considering visiting the cooking school again for my 35th birthday!Written February 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - H KGlasgow, UK12 contributionsGreat tour with a fun and friendly host. We went to lovely old bars we would never have found otherwise. The beers were amazing but Rachael made it personal and special. Recommended!!Written October 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bruce SHat Head, Australia19 contributionsTravelling by canal around the city centre of Amsterdam is appreciably different to canal travel in England with its tight-squeeze passages and endless locks. The Amsterdammers’ more roomy canals and comfortable cruising vessels made for an enjoyable means of catching a slice of urban life in the Dutch capital. One fascinating tidbit I learned from the on-board guide was the way many of the city’s old, tall but narrow buildings had installed a system of hooks and pulleys on the outside, facilitating the movement of furniture and other large items in and out of the apartments – a testimony to the cutting through practicality of Dutch logistics.Written October 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tomski2001London, UK920 contributionsAfter taking part in the Historical walking tour on the previous day we were very happy to take part in the food walking tour with Bernardo. He is a passionate foodie and a loves Amsterdam. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and visited a chocolate shop and Tony Chocolonely’s chocolate factory. We also visited a cheese shop and a herring stall as well as a bar for bieterball. The tour was very well organised and Bernardo is a very engaging guide who we can not recommend enough. The herring was so good we went back after the tour and had some more as well as fried cod bites.Written February 29, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HelenKaragianniAthens, Greece2 contributionsWe visited Amsterdam on February and meeting Dina updated our trip from great into perfect!!!!! In a minute she understands what you like or dislike and creates a tour exactly the way it suits you! She even proposes things to do that you would not even consider exist in Amsterdam as there are not in common tour guides and are amazing!Dina also informs you about Amsterdam history while you see these beautiful buildings and you want her to keep talking!!!! Last but not least food tour guide is the best! She knows great not touristic places that I will remember my whole life!! We will definitely visit Amsterdam again and have a tour with Dina...Written May 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
