What travelers are saying
- Patty Kanyaporn70 contributionsI really love the pastel-colored house where Monet lived and painted for over 40 years. Stepping inside, I find the rooms preserved much as they were during his lifetime, offering a glimpse into his daily life and artistic process. It just all so cute and warm with artisan touch.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the visit is Monet's spectacular gardens. As you wander through the meticulously maintained paths, you'll be transported into the living canvas that inspired countless masterpieces. The vibrant flower beds, the wisteria-draped bridge, and the tranquil water lily pond come alive, replicating the scenes immortalized in Monet's paintings.
I would really enjoy sitting and painting here in his garden all day long, it was super serene with lots and lots of flowers :) The fragrance of blooming flowers, the gentle murmur of water, and the chirping of birds create a peaceful and restorative atmosphere.Written March 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. High density of flowers, well arranged on different levels of highth, colour arrangements well fitting together. Indeed a magic paradise!
Lots of beautiful trees and bushes along a little river leading to the famous ponds and bridges.Written October 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Did the tour of the abbey very interesting the lady only spoke French but were lucky to have a nice young french man and his American girlfriend on same tour and he translated for us the bits we didn’t understand. Tour only cost €6 each so very responsible. Lots of cafe/bars and eatery’s for size of village.Written July 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Benno5Cheshire226 contributionsWe parked just across the road in small free car park. Walked across to see the statues and the Bridge. Then 10 minute stroll to old town for a coffee.Written July 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

We enjoyed the warm of the large inside area and then seeing the animals outside and walking around the lake.

The view is incredible and the achievement of construction is amazing.
The whole town of Les Andelys was lovely to look down upon.Written September 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As two fans of Impressionism, one a professional photographer, the other an art major and lifelong artist, the strained comparisons between Monet and Rothko were a bit hard to take.
And that's why art is subjective.Written May 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A visit to some of the rooms showed how beautiful everything was decorated. The stables were awesome and the grounds very nice. It's a shame the pool area wasn't filled and working as it would have added so much. The water area for the horses was very different with a slanted walk into it for them to cool off. A very nice experience.Written November 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FautsBillericay, UK148 contributionsStopped here for a break in our journey & the curiosity of seeing a Chateau. What a stunning place, very well maintained. We did a ‘self tour’ of both the gardens & the Chateau using the full guide provided at reception. Beautiful grounds ( perfect for picnics) & a very interesting insight into life & history in the Chateau. We spent a very pleasant 2 & 1/2 hours here. There is a pleasant gift shop selling gifts & local preserves etc, they also had ice cream. Clean toilets & there was an option for tea & coffee. A very reasonably priced attraction.Written August 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jeff RRotherham, UK1,143 contributionsAbout an hour from where we were staying was this gem, was 27 euro each to get into the house and grounds although as it was Sunday house wasn’t open until 2 in the afternoon.
Good parking near to the entrance and stables nicely converted into a cafe on one side and a shop on the other side. The grounds are massive have loads of hidden treasures and would take you most of the day to go around them. The house which didn’t open until 2pm today is also full of treasures and told a great story of what life would have been like when it was in its hay day.

To be honest I thought it would be something grand since he's one of the world's most famous painters but it's nothing special at all, just a small modest gravestone that if you weren't looking you would miss.
There is a small size graveyard in the back and inside the church is quite nice. Its got a beautiful wooden interior inside.Written December 5, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
