I agree with the previous reviewers that this museum is very much worth a visit. Unlike other museums that display artifacts in cases, the museum itself is the show. It is a labyrinth of cisterns, graves, secret passageways, wells, grain storage. A visitor is immersed in the features that the family uncovered with all the twists and turns that 2,500 years of occupation produce. And the story of the family’s decision to create the museum is so inspiring and so worth of support.

Small but terrific, very moving museum (and optional walking tour) that gives you a good sense of the rich history of long-gone Jewish Lecce. Our guide, Martina, was a delight and really knew her history. Worth a visit and lending your support as the Museum seeks to expand its work and collections.

This is a wonderful museum. Lots of interesting trains and old carriages to view and go inside (including a creepy prison train!), some lovely steam engines and some really well thought out and beautifully presented displays of train memorabilia from around Europe. At the end there are some fabulous model railways. The staff are super friendly and enthusiastic. There is good English information available. It's not hard to find, just a 20 min walk from the old town. Highly recommended way to spend a morning in Lecce.

I was at the museum last summer and thought it was great. It has a lovely sculpture by Vespasiano Genuino. However, I was bummed to go today only to find that it is currently closed for renovation. Estimated to re-open in July 2019.

What a wonderful, surprising and humbling experience. Francesco guides you through his awesome collection of musical instruments, with delightful humour and expertise. It was an absolute privilege to be allowed into this extraordinary home museum.

A small but beautiful and unique museum in Lecce to understand more about the archeological history of the Salento region in Puglia. The rooms have been nicely furnished with a map and timeline and the objects presented in the showcases show a good chronological overview of the history of the Salento region starting from the prehistory until the Late Medieval times.

This museum is included on the €9 ticket for the other churches. It features some old artwork to peruse which is perfect if you’re into that sort of thing.

the work is displayed artist oriented. Most of the displays are traditional altarpieces, religion oriented, but in the studios there are interesting sculptures which differ from the traditional iconography.

Apart from the exhibits by local artisans and contemporary (read third rate) artists, there is a floor of exhibits on the history of the area, very thin on exhibits.,.chunks of worm stone, mostly, with information in Italian, and short poorly translated articles in English. Not worth your time.

I am hoping as there were four of us that our admission fee goes toward something more than the wages of the girl at the admission desk who was glued to her mobile phone. Nice theatre but really not much there, few rocks and models of how they perceived it to be. Still much to do.
