What travelers are saying
- PaulKent, UK77 contributionsA really nice market on the banks of the river, with a great selection of products and live music. It's mainly food (the sausages and beer were good) but also trinkets such as baskets and other items.
Stalls prefer cash, so make sure you have some (CZK preferred, but Euro's also accepted).Written March 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Cevapi Man and the Vegan Lady made both of us happy... Great place to goWritten September 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janka KBrno, Czech Republic6,340 contributionsGreat place where a person finds everything and everything is cheap. Especially considering it's Prague. I like the restaurants as they are really authentic and the meals are made as for locals so you get great quality for very good price. Another reason why am I visiting the place are exotics fruits that can be bought in small shops there.
A disadvantage is that the place is further from city center and it takes about 1 hour to get there using public transportation. I also checked taxi, it's not much better. Another thing are toilets - I wasn't sure where to find some at the areal. I guess that visitors need to go to some restaurant to use the toilets there. As the last thing, most of the signs is in Vietnamese. Its makes harder to orientate as I don't speak the language.Written July 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Weapons of all sorts from battens, stars, knives and knuckle dusters. Sex toys next to kids toys you couldn't make it up. I bought a t shirt and scarf from here a few years back probably fake but still good as new. You will also be approached to take a look in one of their lock ups full of the usual label fakes from Adidas, Nike etc Always barter and walk off they will call you back if you give them a sensible price. There are a few restaurants here but we gave them a miss if you visit you will see why.Written September 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - creativecrewAllentown, PA2,334 contributionsLoved that we took the tram outside of the tourist area and enjoyed a Saturday morning stroll through this farmers market! Lovely mushrooms. Fresh bread. Super assortment of Czech cheeses. And the good stands offered cooked savory delights. Also purchased several gifts here—handcrafted earrings and wooden treasures!Written October 13, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mirosl@vPrague, Czech Republic1,985 contributionsTylak - it means "a squate of Tyl" - was today used not only to host a Farmers' Market, but to host a well-advertised, therefore also a crowded "Exotic Food" Festival. A good selection of meals ranging from exotic fruits to sushu, sea food or Thai meals, accompanied with a selection of coffee and fruit drinks was available...Written April 28, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of stalls all wonderfully decorated for the Christmas time ,snow falling heavily and as a stunning backdrop the wonderful and historic buildings that form Old Town Square .
My twin brother and I visited this Christmas market twice on our stay in Prague ,loved it ,packed ,vibrant ,a great atmosphere ,loved drinking hot wines to keep warm in the snow ,it really was one of the best Christmas markets I've been to ,if you're planning a holiday to Prague over the Christmas time it's a Christmas market I highly recommend you check out.Written March 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
