Spanish Synagogue is a 19th-century, Moorish-style Synagogue located in the Jewish Quarter in the Old Town

The interior has amazing stained glass and gold designs in this house of worship.

The synagogues and the area around were largely spared the destruction of WWII, as Hitler wanted to preserve the area as a “museum of an extinguished race”.

One of my favourite sights during my first trip to Prague. Lovely peaceful place not too far from Prague Castle. The church inside is really beautiful and the exhibition upstairs was quite interesting too.

We turned the corner and and couldn’t see anything, then walking forward a little made us look up and all I can say is wow. A beautiful synagogue I’ve ever seen.

A must see, reading the history and pictures was great.

Having MS it was hard but was well worth it, parts are not accessible if you can’t walk.

The synagogue is almost empty. The walls however are covered, floor to ceiling, with over 77,000 names of jews who were transported from the local ares to various camps, the names of which are also displayed on the main wall. After each name is a date of birth - many have the same dates of death.
Upstairs is an exhibition of childrens drawings. Whilst in Terezin camp the young children took drawing classes and drew what they saw every day. When it was decided to clear the camp some drawings were hidden and survived. The artists are named and dates of birth given - again their death dates are recorded too.

The basilica inside Prague Castle. One of the oldest churches in the city, built in 920s. From the outside, the architecture is interesting and colourful. The design inside is also nice

Wandering around the Old Town on a snowy ,cold night I passed this wonderful church called Church Of St James ,viewed it before on many occasions and it still impresses me.
Originally constructed in the 13th century for the Franciscan Order ,the church was destroyed by fire in 1686 allegedly by followers of Louis XIV of France, rebuilt in the Baroque style of architecture ,it's such a photogenic church ,beautiful inside and outside ,it's a church to most definitely check out if you're in the Old Town and easy to locate on the junction of Mala Stupartska/Jakubska .

St. Francis of Assisi Church is located in the Prague Old Town, next to Charles Bridge.

When viewing this church from ther river the dominant feature of dome is obvious.

The present day church was built in Baroque style in 1679-1688.

It had replaced an earlier Gothic church, built in the 1250s-70s and was merely built on top of the original.

We discovered the Old New Synagogue during our walking tour around the Jewish Quarter.

It is also known asthe Altneuschul.

This is the oldest active synagogue in Europe.

The architecture to me is quite ugly but offers historical significance.

One of the most attractive historical building in the Betlemske Namesti. Full of history, it worth a visit even just to see where Jan Hus were preacher. There is a small fee for the entrance, 60 CZK for adults and 30 for students, but still worth.

To escape the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist centres of Prague it's just so good jumping on a tram and in a relatively short tram ride your in a much more peaceful and tranquil district of Prague.
Brevnovsky Klaster is one such place I love to visit, not only is it a beautiful monastery complex to visit but it's also a great place to enjoy their own brewed beers and sample a meal from their great meal menu.
Brenovsky Klaster has some serious history attached to it,founded in 993 with most of the rest of the arch abbey dating from 1708 and 1740,its such a beautiful looking building set in superbly kept grounds complete with it's own lake system,I love to hop tram number 22 from Malostranske Namesti up to stop Brevovsky Klaster which drops you off practically by the monastery and brewpub, they have two great taverns in here namely Klasterni Senk and klasterni Sypka were you can enjoy their superb Benedictine ales and sample local Czech cuisine.
A wonderful monastery and garden area, well worth checking out if your planning a holiday to Prague.

The Maisel Synagogue was consecrated in 1592.

In 1601, Maisel passed away and left his synagogue to Prague’s Jewish community.

A fire swept through the synagogue in 1689.

. The last major renovation happened between 2014 and 2015.

As I've written in other reviews of the synagogues of the Jewish quarter, they are all must see places because the information and history offered is different for each one. The Klausen synagogue displays items and history of the Jewish faith that I have never seen in person before. All the synagogues and the cemetery are "must see" locations in Prague.

I learned an enormous amount through the detailed explanations of the frescos. The physical site is expansive and impressive, the feeling is very somber. If you are interested in Christian history, art and architecture, you will find this place of interest.

Temple Of Czech Princess St Lyudmila ( Church Of St Ludmila ) is one of the landmark buildings in the vibrant Vinohrady District and one of the city's most famous churches.
Located on Namesti Miru ( Peace Square ) ,this beautiful twin spired church is just a joy to visit ,a great example of Gothic architecture ,I viewed the church as my twin brother Stephen and I attended the Christmas market on Namesti Miru, church looked stunning as the snow fell ,it's most definitely a church to check out if you're in the Vinohrady District.
