These gardens are so beautiful and peaceful. It is almost like going to a botanical garden and a zoo. We saw many different plants, along with peacocks and owls. We saw the white peacock but not up close. This is a must see if in Prague.

This beautiful garden is maybe less known - but definitely worth a few minutes of your time when you are in the area.
The Franciscan Monastery - with the church of Our Lady of the Snows - was built in the 14th century and beside it - this garden is a relatively small but tranquil oasis in the noise of the 21st century city of Prague.
When we were there there were a few cm of snow , fallen the evening before , and the garden was a bit less spectacular than in the summer for instance when the fountain is also flowing.
Still even in winter it is definitely worth a few minutes and a stop for a few pictures.

The Royal Gardens is a lovely area ,part of the Prague Castle District ,when we visited in December the whole garden area was covered in a thick blanket of snow and although the gardens couldn't be viewed it still looked amazing and offered great views of the magnificent Prague Castle complex .
Well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Prague.

I love coming back. It used to be easy, walking down to the various terraces - levels , stopping to rest, take in the views. The gate by the castle has been closed.

The walk from the bottom up is still worth it. Just takes a bit more energy.
An entrance fee is charged at a kiosk set farther back by the steps.

My husband and I come here for the wonderful views and the memories .
Some of the best pictures of Prague we took here. The views get better and better with each terrace you pass. ...

Prague's Baroque gardens, often hidden behind high walls from the street , offer some of the best retreats from the crazy busy city, that Prague has become.
I love to come here in every season at every chance I get ...

Not much have changed since my childhood visits , not much has changed since my last review below.

It is a great park to visit, definitely less touristy than the nearby Petrin.

    Beautiful in every season ....

Not of a special beauty but they are interesting by the arrangement, terraced, on a steep slope. A quiet place to rest after visiting the castle.

Great Furstenberg Garden is a rather nice oasis of calm in the Castle District ( Hradcany ) ,it's a well kept garden area and although I don't agree with the fact you're charged to view and visit the garden there's no denying it's very beautiful and if you're in the Castle District is most definitely well worth checking out .

My twin brother Stephen and I were in Prague for a ten day holiday in the run up to Christmas ,we visited all the famous sites and most of the not so famous but just as interesting off the beaten track sites ,we visited Petrin Hill above Ujezd and took in the stunning views afforded of the city below ,the Seminary Garden looked superb ,a lovely walking area and with heavy snow falling even more beautiful to behold ,if you're planning a holiday to Prague and in the Udezd area it's most definitely well worth checking out.

Beautiful place. Much effort was put into this and it was worth it. The place is beautiful . Unfortunately, the first impression is ruined immediately because of the attitude of the lady selling tickets. Next time we buy e-tickets for sure.

This is the perfect place to escape the million people wandering the streets of Prague. I went through the Tesla Radio door and it was just lovely. You can enjoy a bit of silence and shade and birdsongs. My advice, buy some of the open faced sandwiches from the cafeteria and enjoy your lunch in this park. It was lovely.

Nice little park to go for a scroll in and quite peaceful. Not exactly a park to walk to from the old town. but we had little scooter to get around on so this place was only a few minutes away

One park ends another one starts. Walking from the Royal Gardens towards Letna Park, Chotkovy Sady are between those two. There is a bridge - overpass, that stretches over the road below. The trams rumble up from Klarov up the hill and turn the first left around a stone wall.
One September afternoon we witnessed (for the first time) a huge number of fotbal fans marching down the hill under the bridge. The traffic was stopped and diverted. Surprised people had to exit trams. Police in full gear escorted the marching fans ( team Sparta) down the hill.
Amazing show, lots of energy and chanting. We were surprised by the large number of police, maybe they were fans too.
Who knew that walking through Chotkovy Sady will be this exciting !
