I heard good things about this museum before but it's still surprisingly wonderful, especially for art lovers. One of the main galleries remind me of those in Europe.

My second visit to Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen, an amazing temple. In July 2023 there were less tourist around but even this time on a Sunday it was not too crowded. I took the MRT to Bang Phai station, Exit 1, and then down the stairs or with the elevator, it takes about 15 minutes to reach the pedestrian bridge over the canal, and then to the grounds of the temple. There is the Meili Café near to the bridge, good espresso and brownies.
There is so much to see at this temple, of course the giant Buddha statue is the main object for pictures. From the pagoda which is behind the Buddha pictures of the area can be taken. In the pagoda there are several levels to climb up the stairs, definitely worthwhile to do.
Several foreign women walked around with very tight shorts and bustier, unfortunately the Thais are too shy to tell them that wearing such dress is very disrespectful.

Pretty interesting, but also very graphic, so be prepared.
    Put on your CSI cap.

Several weeks after I viewed it, my wife told me a story.
Apparently her mother was pregnant and riding a motorscooter near by, and got in an accident. Lost the baby, and it ended up in that museum.
    Glad she told me afterwards.

We decided to visit the temple based on the very positive ratings in TripAdvisor and do fully those 5 star ratings - actually it would be even 6/5 as there are still very limited tourists (the big buses do not come as they cannot earn anything as the ticket for the entrance is 20 Baht only) - furthermore, there are a lot of great explanations in English which help you to dive into the temples background and in particular get a glimpse of the idea of Buddhism. Climbing the tower is fascinating and is highly recommended …

Suan Pakkad or cabbage garden used to be the house of the grandson of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) but is now a museum. There are 8 rooms connected into a spacious house. In the rooms many artefacts from different countries and periods, not only Thai. Pottery, jewellery, carvings, musical instruments etc. Not a typical tourist place, so quiet. If you want to enjoy something different I could recommend to spend around 2 hours here. Photography inside is not allowed and entrance fee is 100 baht.

Although I used to live in Bangkok, I'd never been to Khlong Toei Market, but I needed to buy a sticky rice steamer basket for my son, so I went. It is a great market that has all basic food items and housewares. Its a great place to go to see a working market. It was easy to get to from the MRT station.

The place is at a small floating market, it’s quiet without much traffic.
A charming and quiet little wooden hut where you can spend time doing arts and craft, reading or just chilling over iced sugarcane matcha with nice jazz music in the background.

It is small, but interesting and informative. All the barges are luminous and well preserved and decorated.

A nice kinda "Museum" more an original house, where someone lived inside long times ago.
It´s a good place to calm down and imagine the life in Bangkok nearly 80 years ago.
The staff is so friendly and can explain some things in english, if you ask.
You can watch the origin items, they´ve used or where used around 1930.
It´s completly free, you only have to sign in and if you leave a tip, they will be happy

We loved cooking with Poo! She took us through the market so that we could see where all the food came from, and then we cooked three courses. All three were delicious, and she was very accommodating to my group’s dietary restrictions and good at explaining the steps. Must do experience in Bangkok!

This class was so much fun. We laughed throughout and the food was pretty good if I do say so myself. I look forward to practicing the dishes when I get home. The instructor was such a joy to be around which helped create a welcoming environment for all of us in the class. Though most of us did not know each other with our instructor leading we all had a good time. The cooking school has a homely feel to it. If you are in the area and want to take a cooking class, this would be a wonderful option.

We were eating at the Michelin noted fried chicken place Soi Polo Chicken. If you bring in their receipt to the spa, you get 20% off. Well we wanted to get a massage anyway so we tried it out.

    AMAZING!!
It was so affordable, they are good at listening for how deep you want the pressure.

It starts with juice and ends with hot tea.
So good we had to go back!
