- Jaffer R7 contributionsAbsolutely amazing and authentic place. I wish I knew this place beforehand and would have come here every month if I could . - Bill SGrand Rapids, MN274 contributionsIt’s a really interesting piece of history which you can’t touch or walk about when they close it venues. A long hike only to peek through the fence. It is, however, breathtaking.Written September 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MrMrsHappyRLiverpool, UK1,223 contributionsWonderful town centre in Plovdiv that blends from the Old Town to the New Town. There are lots of nice restaurants, cafes, bars, shops. At the weekend there are lots of entertainers.Written May 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TerraVRVarna, Bulgaria604 contributionsLike in many European cities and in Plodv, it has its "photo stops". This statue is one of them. Swan tourists do not miss the opportunity, so you may have to wait ... or not if you're lucky.Written July 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard A18 contributionsAbsolutely one of my favourite Cafe/bar in Bulgaria! A family run cafe/bar! A fact about "Art News cafe", she was established in Plodiv in 2008, before Kapana cafes started copying the interior of this original place! And the very only cafe from Bulgaria that was listed in New York time back in 2008! Amazing interior design/ great music, very great selection of drinks:-) and perfect location, right in the centre of historical part of the Plodiv, but away from the busy and overcrowded main Street! Highly recommended this place if you are in Plodiv!Written June 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Giovinco1Thessaloniki, Greece194 contributionsOne of the 3 hills of the town which offers great views.
Easy to walk, clean but could have more signs explaining its story.Written January 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Agora has been a the center of public, administrative, commercial and religious life in the ancient city of Philippopolis.
The archeological complex is located is the very centre in modern Plovdiv and covered an area of about 20 ha. It has been built around the 1st century AD and it is an impressive place for a visit.Written May 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Especially the panoramas showing İstanbul and Vienna is a must see. The thing that doesn't sound right is the way the information is presented by the museum with a lacking historical background about the traditional Ottoman houses. Ottoman Turks were here. They ruled for centuries. The architectural building techniques, the parts of the houses are all the same. The connection shouldn't be ignored. These all were there before "National Bulgarian Revival". If these houses are "people's monument of culture" then history shouldn't be hidden. I'm glad that these houses are being protected the way they should be.Written August 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris SMelbourne, Australia38 contributionsI agree with the previous reviewer. There are some good Roman mosaics and a stunning collection of glass items from 200 BC until 200 ad. Trakart Gallery is the correct name for searching for it's location. Our tour guide from Bulgaria had never been there and he was most impressed as well.Written September 12, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vasw & GeorgeAthens, Greece487 contributionsThis monument is a nice addition to the small park that surrounds it. It's a square where locals hang out. It's next to some of the important museums in Plovdiv.Written November 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndrejaKoMaribor, Slovenia1,069 contributionsWell, it's a tunnel under the old town. Not sure if this is a sight to see. But we did went through it, because we were doing the walk around old town. It is unpleasant to walk through it, because it is also a tunnel the cars use. So the smog and the noise are hard to bear. We walked through it really fast.Written October 14, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
