- Mike ATuscaloosa, AL65 contributionsI have never been to another college stadium outside of our fandom or the SEC schools…..but since my sone is considering this as a future educational possibility we decided to take in the sights. Granted, Lane Stadium isn’t as big as Bryant-Denny is down the street…….I could feel the excitement just standing near it. Playing Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” in the truck doesn’t do it justice as those who say it literally registers as a small earthquake during gamedays. We plan on attending a game in the future so we can truly get the experience of how a small stadium can literally shake the earth and rattle the sky.Written March 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard SWashington DC, DC165 contributionsA great place to visit on a quiet Sunday afternoon. The garden is beautifully designed, but not over-done. We particularly liked seeing displays of vegetables and examples of "utility-friendly" trees, whose mature heights do not interfere with overhead power lines. A number of the trees would be fine additions to residential landscapes.Written September 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brian C1 contributionI rarely write a review but have read a 1000+. Do me a favor and go to this place, order a Brown Chicken Brown Beer & a well done (crispy/almost burnt) cheese pizza! On a Saturday night listen to the eclectic music mix while watching a mountain sunset. Buy a bag of organic lettuce when you check out. Pizza is not Colony grill, Bleekers or New Haven Apizza but it is damn good. Your welcome!Written October 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- G.SrinivasanBengaluru, India287 contributionsFantastic auditorium at Virginia Tech campus, Blacksburg. It is state of the art with regard to seating, sound systems and viewing. - SjpoohAkron, OH64 contributionsI had a one night stay in Blacksburg and arrived in mid afternoon . After checking in at hotel, I found the Smithfield Plantation. What a gem! It’s a self guided tour and gives you a small, but accurate view of life in the late 1700- 1800’s. Not only do you get an idea of the owner’s family but a glimpse of slave life. The lady who introduced me to the house was quite knowledgeable and the young man in the ticket/museum shop were friendly and welcoming. This does not take a long time to visit but is well your time. It’s very near Virginia Tech grounds.Written July 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Elizabeth BElkhart, IN75 contributionsVisiting Blacksburg and my cousin and her husband. We went to the Lyric theater to see the movie that was playing there. Not only did we love the movie, the update of the theater was lovely to see! I love old movie theaters and when they are updated and refurbished, oh my! So much beauty compared to the new theaters that are built today! Very good support from the Blacksburg community too! Nice to see :)Written April 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mike ATuscaloosa, AL65 contributionsI am not sure you can give a rating to a memorial but I will say, I am thankful and humbled to see the University honor those that were lost to a senseless act of violence and moreoever I am glad that the memorial is placed where people can reflect and honor those right in front of the school instead of some off the beaten path that no one would ever see.Written March 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HsteinmillerYorktown, VA542 contributionsUnfortunately the house was closed for tours the day we stopped by due to employees needing to monitor parking for the football game. But the very kind lady who saw me peeking forlornly through the window graciously opened the door and showed us some photos of the place and told us a little about the house's history. Her affection for the place was palpable, and I can't wait to come back to tour the place properly. It's simply gorgeous on the outside, and from what I could see of the interior it too was beautiful.Written September 14, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
