Beautiful beach! We brought inner tubes and floated around. Lots of rock/ tide pools where we were. Purple coral and tiny blue fish.

Just be aware that the road is gated and closes at 4pm. Also, go slow on your way there as the roads can be slippery— there was no sign to warn us that a sharp right curve was coming up so we drifted a little *scary* When you get to the marine park, turn left, not right (google maps says right).

The Chamorro Village Night Market on Wednesday nights was worth going early for dinner. There were multiple food stands from which to choose, and we took our meals to go back to our hotel. Too many people without masks.

I find Guam Museum entertaining as well as informational as well. This is a dissection of Guams culture and heritage. There is also a film showing were one can find tons of information about Guams history. They were colonized by the spaniards , then the japanese and then liberated by the Americans just like in the Philippines.
I also find the design of the bldg aestically beautiful.

The latte stones were used as building supports by the ancient Chamorros. These were relocated in the 1950s from an abandoned village sadly destroyed by the Navy. They are cool to see. On site are Japanese tunnels built during WWII, however they were closed. Apparently they were open for people to explore at one point.

The park is being neglected with overgrowth and trash. That hurts the rating.

Very informative. Definitely put this on your list of places to visit if you are interested in WWll history. Guam has certainly Ben shaped by events of WWll.

This is a memorial to the Japanese dead. Manu who were killed were put in mass graves, and later burried here. There is an almost hallowed feeling.

A great historical park in a quieter part of Guam, I visited later in the afternoon when it was cooler. Plenty of places to park. Could sit and have a picnic as there is a generous lawned area. Nice place to just sit and relax.

The 'Latte of Freedom' is located at Adelup Point which is actually the 'Ricardo J. Bordallo Governor's Complex'. Assuming that this was solely a Government administrative building with an oversized concrete egg cup structure and unsure about access to the general public, on previous visits to Guam it has been easy to speed past the complex on Marine Corps Drive, without a second thought.
On my latest visit to Guam post-COVID, I decided to venture off Marine Corps Drive and explore the complex. In the North West cornerof the park in front of the complex there is a bronze statue of a 'Lone Sailor', standing by his kitbag and staring out to sea towards Tamuning. The very evocative US Navy Memorial was dedicated as recently as December 2018. During office hours you can drive through the gate adjacent to this memorial and proceed up the hill and park behind the complex which affords a great view of the coastline as well as featuring historical cannons and a memorial to the crew of a B52H Stratofortress ex-Andersen Air Force Base which crashed into the sea in 2008.
Although the 'Latte of Freedom' remained closed post-COVID when I visited in December 2022, discovering the 'Guam Chinkon Shrine' which lies just below the structure and overlooks 'Red Beach 1', 'Red Beach 2', 'Green Beach' & 'Blue Beach' which together comprise the Asan Beach Landing Sites of 21 July 1944. The Shinto Shrine is marked by a couple of vermilion 'torii' gates and is overshadowed by the rusting relic of a Japanese defensive gun. The information board is very thought provoking; in the 21-days following the Asan landings, more than 21,000 soldiers perished (1,866 US and 19,505 Japanese).
All-in-all, the Governor's Complex at Adelup Point comprises more than just the 'Latte of Freedom'!

I thought that I should have some sips of history and decided to visit this historical site. Though it was not rich enough... I had a good time wslking around the plaza and see what is left of the old one.

The museum is located on the campus of the University of Guam with plenty of room to park in front of the house where it is located. When we were there they had a wonderfully curated show co-sponsored by the Japan Foundation with ukiyo-e prints by Sharaku and contemporary posters responding to the older works. The excellent information which was provided about the older works made experience even better. Thank you for a great visit!

It is a long hike to the lost pond and the pond itself is in the woods so take tennis shoes and bug spray. The mosquitoes are pretty bad so you can't stay at the pond very long. The beach in front of the pond is awesome and there weren't a lot of people.

In Sirena Park, Agana, Guam there is a colonial era Spanish Bridge preserved for viewing. The locals call it the "waterless bridge". It's simply on display in the park surrounded by native plan life. There is a statue of a mermaid. Apparently the legend goes that there was a young maiden who loved the water and to swim. Her mother one day forbade her to swim and instead do house work. Since the maiden's Godmother was a fish, she protested that half the girl belong to her and she made the maiden half fish.
