What travelers are saying
- Guillaume AShizuoka, Japan547 contributionsThis is the landmark of Rouen. Very impressive building with a very tall tower "flèche ". You really have to take the time to look at all the details to realize how amazing that building is. It was painted many times by the famous painter Claude Monet.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Guillaume AShizuoka, Japan547 contributionsThe past meets the present on that street. Located between the cathedral and place du vieux marché, this is the street to do while visiting the city. It's a mix of culture/ history and shopping.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- dccv1Toronto, Canada318 contributionsThis was an excellent old style art gallery. It featured classical art with a range of paintings and sculpture. I found the works of the Impressionists to be of particular interest. The gallery is located in a lovely old building. Well worth a visit.Written December 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Guillaume AShizuoka, Japan547 contributionsBeautiful architecture, mixing history, shopping and bars/cafés/ restaurants.
Miraculously this is the only part of the City that didn't get bombed by the allies during WW2.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's between the cathedral and the Vieux marché square where Joan of arc was burnt by the English.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dccv1Toronto, Canada318 contributionsA fascinating and different sort of museum housed in an old church, this Musee features a wide collection of iron things from long ago. The intricate and detailed iron work on locks, ornaments etc. is quite amazing. Worth a visit.Written December 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hope34 contributionsThis place was definitely well worth a stop. It was very well done and very informative. The tower at the top that allowed a 360 degree view of Rouen was really beautiful as well. We went in February and we were nearly the only people there. Loved it.Written March 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Guillaume AShizuoka, Japan547 contributionsYou really have to know how to get there. It's used by an art school, as well as some new little cafés.
If you look carefully at the architecture, the wood is carved with skulls on it.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Travelling from Le Harve we took our second organised excursion from the ship in the form of an unguided coach trip to Rouen. The city has about 2,000 half-timbered houses and that includes ones in this square. We didn't note any details about it being the location where Joan of Arc was burned alive but that's the negative of taking an unguided tour or reading up on the City in advance.Written January 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Guillaume AShizuoka, Japan547 contributionsOne of the oldest streets of Rouen with its traditional building, some of them, if you look carefully, are leaning. Paved street for pedestrians only. A must do.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- robwwLondon, UK475 contributionsMust see historical street once the home to textile manufacture / draperies. The Robec stream / river runs adjacent (Old Norse raudh, red and bekkr, stream) and is the reason for the cloth industry being located there.
Lots of nice cafe bar restaurant venues here.Written November 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
