- CrisN29Bucharest, Romania65 contributionsWorth to visit, monumental. Next to the whole old city, it was a wonderful experience. The cathredal It is bigger than we expected and built-in nice gothical style.Written January 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarkAmersham, UK1,956 contributionsThe square around the Minster is really great and is a great setting for the Minster. Its a large open space surrounded by a lot of charming buildings, cafes and restaurants. Every day there is a market filled with great fresh fruit and veg, food and craft stalls.Written October 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - barb777Chicago, IL148 contributionsLOVED this zoo! It is very accessible to Freiburg and well worth a visit. It's a lovely walk through a large park like area, where the animals have plenty of space to roam. You can get very close to the animals and easily watch them. There is plenty of space to roam around, with plenty of food and beverage options. We really enjoyed this for a few hours and plan to visit again.Written February 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin PTempe, AZ422 contributionsI believe this museum was created to store the artifacts from Freiburg cathedral. It is well laid out and almost guides you through the center hall with its superhuman statues from the cathedral, into the side aisles, displaying paintings and liturgical objects, and then upwards to stained glass and artifacts. There are a number of well known masters on display, like Carlo Crivelli and Hans Baldung Grien. If you are interested in buying catalogs from past exhibits, some are for sale at the entrance. I picked up a nice one on Winterhalter for 20 odd Euros.Written January 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ann CNashville, TN3,280 contributionsIf you enjoy hiking/walking/views then this area is a nice find. I do not recommend the vernacular (Schlossberg bahn) was a waste of money in my opinion, if you are in a healthy state I recommend walking the path up instead.
The tower at the top provides lovely views on a clear day.Written January 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This is a great photo op as is the other gate. This was built around 1250 originally open towards the inside of the city and was only enclosed with a stone wall in 1547. In 1572, a stone turret was added and in 1900 the height was doubled. It is worth your time to view!Written October 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MarkAmersham, UK1,956 contributionsPart of the charm of Freiburg is simply wandering around and enjoying the charming buildings of the old town. This is one of those iconic buildings - its in a pleasant square.
The Town Hall is home to the registry office for weddings so during the week there are a steady stream of groups of happy brides and grooms leaving from having registered their marriage.Written October 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Raintree_ThailandBangkok, Thailand3,818 contributionsOlder of the two remaining Freiburg city gates, dating back to 1202, but rebuilt several times over the years. The current Martinstor appearance is tarnished with a McDonald’s sign (although thankfully no golden arches). Surprising that local officials have allowed this.Written January 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 78klausmDüsseldorf, Germany29 contributionsThe location of the stadium is good, the first mountains of the black forest are just behind. The place is a footbal stadium, although it is still in Freiburg city limit. The transport by tram is well organised.
The football atmosphere is fantastic , since the seats are close to the field. The toilets can be renovated. The food is local, specially the sausages, which is a must in german football stadium. And local beers. Prices are reasonable.Written September 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Despite some of the look-outs feeling (and smelling) a bit grubby, the play parks were clean and they really enjoyed playing with the water pumps and on the climbing towers - which make the children's play parks back in the UK look miserable by comparison. A lovely walk around the lake with some free (I hope) parking available this place is well worth a visit. The mini-golf was unfortunately closed, but there are public toilets available at the entrance to the building which is always a plus with little ones.Written August 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
