- CT Epicure13 contributionsLeave the busy city streets behind and enter a protected grove of old world trees, magnificent peacocks and beautiful flower gardens. Imagine the variety of Central Park in a much smaller, completely walkable footprint.Written May 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The interior is very unlike any other I have seen in Spain but is a serene oasis.Written October 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin SBoston, MA79 contributionsThis former small shopping arcade has been beautifully restored and brought to life with a mix of popular bars and cafes. Having explored the space in daytime and in the evening, I think it is seen to better advantage at night, when it is beautifully and dramatically lit inside. There are several pleasing sculptural elements, as well. My only caveat is that -- although the passage is open to the air at both ends --there was perhaps a little bit too much cigarette smoking inside . . .Written October 3, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin SBoston, MA79 contributionsThough it’s easy (and understandable) to get caught up in the excellent shops, restaurants, cafes, parks, and museums of Valladolid, be sure to devote time to some of the buildings of its historic university, which is one of the oldest in Europe. One of the primary central buildings, which is illuminated at night, has an intricate Baroque facade and an interior decorated with colorful Spanish tiles and sporting a grand staircase. Another significant edifice, not too far away, houses the historic library of Santa Cruz upstairs and a serenely beautiful cloister at its center. If you need help finding these spaces, just ask one of the many passing students!Written October 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can see rooms furnished as they may have been in his lifetime, and a vast library. A good amount of background information provided in Spanish and English - both helpful and at times amusing. Surprisingly there is no shop. One might have expected at copies of Don Quixote in many languages, postcards, etc. - but nothing. Definitely missing a trick here.Written September 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MDOGPDallas, TX1,131 contributionsThis is a great museum in Valladolid. It is inside a church. It contains many artifacts from China, Japan and the Philippines. I arrived a little bit late so I could stay only for 50 minutes. I really enjoyed the room dedicated to the Philippines, I learned a lot about the history, art and religion of this country. Entrance is just 5€.Written January 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
