Right in the centre of Timisoara stands this beautiful orthodox cathedral relatively modern as it was built around the beginning of the XX century. It is impossible to miss this building walking in the city centre of the town. The interior of the Cathedral is very cosy and warm. I really liked it

Like every year the Victoriei square in Timisoara is the place where a part of the annual Christmas Fare is set up. Last year in 2023 was no difference ... lights decorating the portion of the square in front of the Opera and also the whole of the square has been "invaded" by divers booth, selling from trinkets to food and drinks pretty much all sort of goods.
Now during this period between the 1st days of December and the few days into January the square is showing you a different face ... now for sure this review is coming late from the perspective of the fare itself, nonetheless it can a good inspiration for this year for those who would like to visit Timisoara in Dec2024.
The fare itself is not crowded - or at least is not as crowded like in other European cities - food that is on display is very much Romanian, traditional but of course there will be different snacks available. In terms of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic are present.
Overall you may not be able to see the landmarks in the square - or those will be obscured by all the items present but still it can be a very interesting to see the Victoriei square hosting the Christmas fare in Timisoara.

History should always be remembered. I visited this memorial for the first time in 2013 and then went back in 2023. It is a wonderful projects that honours the heroes of the anti-communist revolution in Timisoara, while also remembering aspects of the totalitarian regime all around Romania, resistance movements, propaganda, the cult of personality of Nicolae Ceausescu. The exhibit has clear information written in Romanian and English languages and the staff is really friendly.

Mall is really nice but prices are a bit high. Most of the workers there are not speaking english. In restaurants, menu is in romanian only and we had a hard time to order what we want. It would be nice to adjust it a bit more for tourists.

I was in Museum with my friend, as a part of a Timisoara visit. The place represents history we all know from movies or we experienced from our grandma's and grandpa's stories. There is no entrance fee, so basically you donate as much as you want or can. I like that there is also a bar, so you can drink a beer after the visit. Ambient is non ordinary.

We didn't go inside the Opera to watch a performance, so I cannot comment on that.
Opera House is in my opinion more a historic place from whose balcony the Romanian Revolution was started in 1989. There's a commemorative plaque there.
It stands on the northern side of Piata Victorei (Victory square) opposite the beautiful Roman Orthodox Cathedral on the southern side.

Spring - May - it is the ideal time to visit this park of Timisoara ... As the name is saying it is dedicated to roses - once there were more than 1200 roses here ... but also today it is worth a visit and when all the roses are blooming for sure it can be really nice.
It was created in the early 1900 buy too locals Wilhelm and Arpad Muhle - father and sun - as gift to the city , populated with roses of different colors and sized - some breeds created by Arpad himself.
It is maintained fairly decent ,although it could be much more to it ... and could be more spectacular than it is today .
The park with it's alleys can be a very nice place to stroll and unwind , especially in spring and in the middle of it there is a scene - and from time to time there are concerts held there - so it also has this function as a concert venue.
When you are in Timisoara - in spring .. mid May for instance check it out.

This river is the center of recreation in Timisoara. Locals of this town kayak here, run, train, play tennis... The river is solidly clean and there are plenty of cafes along the shore.

A the Art Museum of Timisoara - hosted by the Baroque Palace in the Unirii square - you can learn about the building in the lobby area of the palace - as it was called the Baroque palace - and is standing there for 300 years since it has been built in the 18th century after the conquest of Timisoara by the Habsburgs.
Now till the 28.05 the visitors can indulge there need for art with a very interesting exhibition of the works of the the Romanian born - in Piatra Neamt - painter and sculptor Victor Brauner's works.
I've been visiting in early march - what can I say - it was interesting - some of the works were really interesting , from some I didn't get anything, just gazed at those without getting any message - well probably my engineers mind cannot really grasp the artistic works (happened the same at Sibiu last year when I visited an expo of works of Dali and Goya, Goya was great , Dali I couldn't understand).
Overall a very nice, interesting and puzzling experience.
The entrance fee to visit the Brauner exhibition is 55 Ron/person - so like 10 Euros.
When you are in Timisoara go and check it out.

Interesting outdoor museum in a lovely green area. Many of the buildings were closed, but we then stayed for the annual ethnicities festival in June, which was excellent.
