It was in mid-August. Me, my friend, my son-in-law and my fifteen-year-old grandson.
We started in the Bobrovy Log (Beaver's Wash) funpark, took a chairlift and hiked up in the hills. Unfortunately, we were somewhat pressed for time that day so it was impossible to go to Stolby (world-famous butts) but that national park offers excellent hikes, views and panoramas for anyone with any time-table and in any season! Just try to avoid holidays and days-off - might be crowdy.
Awesome environment, squirrels and chipmunks abound (take some seeds with you, better pine nuts), well-maintained paths, good navigation (in Russian!). Places to grab a bite are scarce though (I mean, really scarce) so a lunch box - and water - would be a good idea. Mosquitos are not a problem but think about ticks (in summer - ha-ha!).

Actually, "ionesee" means "big water" in Evenki language (Evenks are one of numerous indigenous ethnoses living in Siberia). We first saw it in mid-August in Krasnoyarsk but then we drove five hundred kilometers down to Khakassia (an autonomous republic in Siberia), then another five hundred further down to Tuva (also an autonomous republic, not far from Mongolia) and everywhere Yenisey (this is the correct way to spell it!) was starkly different.
Calm and comparatively warm in Krasnoyarsk due to water flowing through hot turbines of the Sayno-Shushenskaya dam, Yenisey is rampant by its foot, placid in Khakassia and absolutely tranquil in Tuva's capital Kyzyl where it actually starts.
Thus, Krasnoyarsk is not at all the place to feel its might. Go to that dam instead. You'll be awestruck and overwhelmed by the river's thrust. Never hesitate to drive these five hundred plus kilometers - it's a once-in-your-lifetime opportunity!

Really nice museum! Extremly interactive! Some nice experiments and illusions. But the best is the second part: Rotationg tunnel which creates the illusion you will flip over. Not possible to walk there stright! And best mirror labirinth I have ever seen! Took me half an hour to find the exit, I almost got lost there :-)

We were there in mid-August during a private city tour. Me, my friend, my son-in-law and my fifteen-years-old grandson. Due to tremendous taiga fires in Yakutia (more than a 2,100 kilometers long beeline distance!) the day was rather hazy so there was not a lot to see from a vantage point nearby.
It'd be useful to note, however, that it was that very hill Russians used as an observation post during their once perennial "tug-of-war" with indigenous people and their nomad allies in the XVIIth century. While newcomers were always greatly outnumbered by locals, the former enjoyed the advantage of firearms and artillery where the latter had pikes and arrows only. Thus, in the end of the day victory was usually on the Russian side though unexpected raids of their enemies inflicted big harm to crops, livestock and wooden buildings outside of their forts. Quite often the result was severe famine.
So, it was not that tranquil here some three hundred years ago. At all...

I must say that Mayor Sergey Eryomin did a fantastic job of making this space available for the whole family to enjoy. I was honored to be there at their Social festival, but it's open to all and truly a fun for the entire family place. Much to do and see.

Lots of somewhat old-style displays that will keep the kids engaged and help them learn about the Krasnoyarsk region: the people, history, flora, fauna. Our 7 and 10 year old were roaming the halls exploring happily. Not necessarily the most scientific of museums but good fun. Don’t expect an interactive exhibition, though, or activities catering specifically for kids.

Prospect Mira is one of the main streets of the city. It is easy to walk the entire length of the street, you'll find a number of city sights along the way.

When I visited Krasnoyarsk the city was at the end of hosting the Universiade. As I walked through this square a stage was set up at one end. A performance was taking place, alternating between 'traditional' dances and costumes, and modern groups.

Very nice monument:) and, as we had been told, we rubbed a nose so as to attract luck to our life:)) looking forward to it;) by the way, there is a really nice place near the monument called Rumochnaya that gave a really good impression of the atmosphere) the bartenders were making great cocktails, the music was good and the decor is unique! so don't pass by this place this place while visiting the monument)

It was neat to see the family estate of Surikov. Though there are several buildings on the estate, only one of them is open to visitors.
