What travelers are saying
- Alex RIasi, Romania102 contributionsNice to see. A lot of history inside. A reprezentative building in Iași city. Have a parking just near the objective. Very nice.Written July 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FloreArad, Romania1,661 contributionsThe construction of the church is very different from most Orthodox churches in Moldova, it is not painted on the exterior walls, but the stone lacework is absolutely charming. There is also a legend that this church was all covered with gold (both the walls and the roof) and the Ottoman army burned it down to recover the gold. I don't know how much is truth and how much is legend!Written May 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mega_viktkKyiv, Ukraine1,100 contributionsOne of the largest Romanian Orthodox cathedrals. Since 1641, the relics of St. Paraskeva rests in the Metropolitan Cathedral. There is usually a long queue for them.
Candles should be installed outside the cathedral in luminaries.

The theater itself was beautiful! I loved the details. Seems to be no bad seats, either. And Sunetul Muzicii was fantastic 🎶🤩💕Written June 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SJM JordanAmman, Jordan219 contributionsGood mall at the center of the city, the food court is not amazing but the mall has many options for tourists to buy gifts and souvenirsWritten July 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin CMaastricht, The Netherlands32 contributionsOn the outskirts of the EU lies Iasi, in Eastern Romania. This student-town is very interesting to visit for a day or 2. Make sure to visit the palace as well.Written October 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mega_viktkKyiv, Ukraine1,100 contributionsThe first botanical garden in Romania, founded by A. Fătu 166 years ago, was located in another place - 3 km away, southward. In 1963, a new, much larger botanical garden was created near the University. It is worth visiting Exotic flower greenhouses, a rose garden not only in summer but also until mid-autumn!

As there is little tourism in November, we got a private tour. The nice lady told us a lot about the history of the monastery, nicely accentuated by historic remains and replicates. On top you have a very nice overview of Iasi.
We found it to be the best and most interesting sightseeing in Iasi.Written November 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tiberiu_BaranyiTimisoara, Romania12,986 contributionsNear the Dosoftei house and the Palace of culture in Iasi you shall find this small but very interesting church.
Built during the reign of Kind Stephen the Great in the period of 1491-1492 - it was refurbished through the ages - even on the interior the Romanian royal family was added on the walls.
Entrance is free of charge - but it is not open around the clock, so try to be there at reasonable hours - after 9:0 a.m. and before 6 p.m. for instance.
The frescoes inside are interesting but are covered in a layer of candle smoke - and like in the majority of orthodox churches in Romania there is a dim light so you need to really focus to see the items inside.
Overall very interesting - if you are in the area definitely worth taking a look.Written October 15, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Copou Park means much more than this lime tree, it means the wonderful floral arrangements. Dozens of flower species will delight you, and your photos will be full of color. A sincere bravo - to those who manage this park.Written May 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TERRAvelistaLondon, UK17,555 contributionsThis place is located in front of the Palace and Mall, plus St Nicholas church near it. I guess due to the traffic nearby, the house is now suffering (as being several hundreds of years old) thus being under renovation at this moment in time.
However you can still admire the outside structure and pictures depicting the house some 100 years ago.
Well maintained area with wide roads and lots of traffic though.Written June 25, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
