- MadtownChrisMadison, WI244 contributionsLarge, fun and well-organized cave to visit. The catwalks to get around inside seem brand-new and make it easy to get through the visit (although there is a lot of up and down).
Due to the rain, we weren't sure if the gondolas were running but it seems like you should be able to take one up from Busteni, down from there to nearby the cave and then walk about 10-15 minutes to the cave.
If you drive from Sinaia, it takes just over an hour and be prepared for lots of curves and some big potholes. As of June, 2023, do not follow Google maps for the last 1km or so as it will take you down a rough road to a washed out bridge. Instead go to the monastery on the west side of the river. Park in the lot below the chapel and follow the "spre pestere" signs down to the valley.Written June 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Amazing views and great fun, a must to go all the way to the top, so u will need to ensure you include the trip for both cable cars. It had snowed and there were amazing blue skies and the views of the mountain range was stunning. Spent a few hrs up here and took our own lunch.Written December 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - robbycoxWelwyn Garden City, UK1,354 contributionsWe visited this Monastery after visiting Peleș Castle, we walked round it in about half an hour, there’s some fabulous artwork on the smaller of the churches inside and although it really doesn’t take that long to walk around it’s definitely still worth a visit to see if in the area.Written September 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bogdan2005Bucharest, Romania472 contributionsWe visited the casino after many years within a guided tour and it was a very good decision. This is a very beautiful place built at the beginning of 19th century as per the plans of the Romanian architect Antonescu. The theatre is was by far my favorite but the Mirrors Room and the Baccarat Room are equally beautiful. The entrance is majestic as well. 4 art galleries are at the ground floor and they deservd all the attention of visitors, particularly the one displaying the very nice collection donated by the painter Augustin Costinescu and his wife. A secret underground passage of 70 m connects the Casino with the Hotel Palace (it was used once by the players) and we were told that the municipality is doing its best to open it to the public.Written February 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bobo1 contributionForget the Peleș Castle. This is the place where you can find a good value souvenir or a beautiful gift for somebody you love or for your boss.Written June 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bogdan2005Bucharest, Romania472 contributionsWe visited this place early morning and this is because the museum closes at 4 pm with the last entry at 3:30 pm (we found this very unhappy all the more we were going to ski and, of course, there was no time to come earlier/then, the visit takes 15 minutes or so and closing it 30 minutes before official closing is just like they cannot wait to go home in spite of the visitors interest). Anyhow, the museum well worth a visit as it was the summer residence of the Romanian famous composer Georges Enescu until its final departure from Romania in 1946 when the communists seized the power after WWII. It is the place were Queen Mary of Romania was attending the small group private concerts of Enescu. The sculpture in the courtyard was made by Ion Irimescu. The lack of acces to the working rooms of Enescu in the attick and the location of his original piano in room not allowed for visitors are again very strange decisions none can understand.Written February 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas GAmsterdam, The Netherlands1,688 contributionsNot the castles, but the hike ending with this view is the highlight of Sinaia. The walk up there (1-1,5 hours in snow when nature starts with the blue line) is very beautiful with great nature. The view point itself is very stunning. The view is amazing seeing the higher Bucegi mountains and Sinaia town. I was there all by myself and on the walk I saw 3 people so it is very private and remote. It is a must-do in Sinaia.Written April 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
