What travelers are saying
- itzdeb1216Texas City, TX79 contributionsLarry Callies is an amazing man. We are so grateful for the wealth of information he shared with us. This museum is something to see. I love the story behind how he got the museum started and so grateful he followed his heart. Larry is so proud of his heritage and the legacy of his fore-fathers. When in Rosenberg, you must stop and visit Larry. He is so warm, friendly and genuine.Written September 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- itzdeb1216Texas City, TX79 contributionsWe truly enjoyed our visit to this museum. So much history revolving around the railroads of Texas. Our tour guide, Nick was a wealth of information. He had an answer for just about every question we had. He is definitely an asset to the museum; he knows his trains! The rest of the staff is super friendly and very happy to see you.

We see excellent work in the small town of Rosenberg. We enjoy eating next door at the Railroad Cafe or any other place in Rosenberg or Richmond. They usually put on a production every couple of months and we've enjoyed them all.Written April 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heidi Z1 contributionThe owner, Jeff, was super nice and helpful to me! Very generous with his time! He took the time to explain his store to me and even tell me a bit about Rosenburg and plans for the future. A super pleasant experience!Written February 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- John G8 contributionsI found a really neat sketch on paper of a Native American in one one of the studios. The artist was not there so one of the folks in the center called him for me to get a price. He wanted to make the piece smudge proof so I am waiting for him to get back to me as to when it is available to pick up.
Everyone was super friendly and helpful.Written September 23, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Each room has a theme from new and old clothing, gifts of lotions, soaps and jewelry, antique toys & military items. Also, I found that they now carry my favorite brand of sheets that are silky soft and durable. - Carla KWaller, TX93 contributionsColor me surprised that i had not heard of this nature center before now. This is a great place to spend time with nature. The paths are well groomed and easy access. The benches around the ponds are great for enjoying a cool breeze and watch the turtles swimming. Walk through the wetland and woodland trails to see native birds and don't forget the beautiful butterfly garden to see Texas native plants and flowers. This is a great place to take the kids.Written May 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Margie BKaty, TX131 contributionsIt is a very quaint small building. I expected to see much more works of art and was a bit disappointed that there were very few. Nobody greeted us and saw a man in a small office that stayed there. We left shortly afterward.Written July 29, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
