What travelers are saying
- 4PAfamWrightsville, PA130 contributionsNot only was the entire tour beautiful and interesting, our tour guide Wyatt was very knowledgeable and had such a pleasant, friendly personality. He engaged in answering any questions from the guests and even added some humor along the way. He did a fantastic job! Our family has toured other caverns but this particular tour was by far, the favorite. The history and educational information regarding the mesmerizing formations captured your attention throughout the tour. Wyatt also kept everyone safe by informing us of handrails to use and slippery spots. Please wear shoes with a good tread. If you stay at the campground on premises, they do offer campers a discount. It was a personable, well-organized tour. I would highly recommend a visit here! You will absolutely enjoy it and you will be so glad you did! I can't wait to come back and see it again!Written October 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Aimee W13 contributionsGreat history to be felt and experienced here at the museum. Very beautiful grounds, and the stories are presented as though you are there. The grounds are gorgeous, and a peek into the Shenandoah River gives you a reality check of the terrain these armies were facing. It’s a great spot!Written October 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- ThoughtsofRSHagerstown, MD1,313 contributionsThe Shenandoah Valley Flea Market isn’t the biggest I’ve ever seen but they have plenty of items that are perfect for such a place.
The staff was nice and the parking abundant with room for an outside market area in warmer weather.
I didn’t buy anything this day but there were interesting items.
I would return on a later date.Written March 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is part of the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park. The Museum itself is known as Virginia Museum of the Civil War. Visitors can learn about the early history of Civil War and the Civil War in Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley which include the Battlefield at the New Market. At the Park and the museum, visitors can also learn about why the area became the battlefield and who locally were involved in the battle. Great stuff for Civil War Buff.Written November 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

It is also an historic building that was built as an Opera House for New Market.Written November 6, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Arminius1Richmond, Virginia142 contributionsI've been wanting to play Shenvalee for many years but as I live several hours away, I just haven't made the time to do so. Until this past week. Several of us made the trip to play their 27 holes. We figured if we're going to make the effort, we might as well make the most of it!
I usually play anywhere from 15-25 rounds a year. And so far, this year, I haven't seen a course this green, well manicured and just fun to play.
There was not a damaged green over the entire course- even after the periods of drought and heavy rain we've had recently. They ran pretty fast and several were very soft, especially the par threes when the balls landed on them. Each fairway was immaculate. The cuts were very fair and didn't give us any unfair lies.
The yardage is short. There are several par 4s you could drive. But the shortness of the yardage is met with some very interesting shaping of the course. There are several holes where the tee boxes and the greens are of different heights- some extreme. You need to constantly think of not just the yardage but the landing zone. Several holes have blind greens, such as you're hitting on a hill, with the green hidden down the other side. It makes for a challenging but very playable course if you're hitting accurately. Several of the fairways have blind doglegs which, again, are very fair if you hit accurately.
The staff we interacted with were all very nice and pleasant to talk to. Price was great, especially if you play all 27.
I'm definitely making the return trip. The three of us who played were just stunned at how much fun this course was.Written August 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ken NToms River, NJ380 contributionsLooking at the outside it does not look like much. But when you get inside there are so many different things in there to look at you can spend hours. It is like a bunch of little store inside the building, but you just go up front to pay for whatever you take. I bought several items.Written September 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Helen W4 contributionsThis used to be a favorite stopping place. You never knew what you would find. Unfortunately, the buildings were all sold and the current owner of the land tore them all down to build a Dollar General. I am very sad.Written February 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
