What travelers are saying
- JooleighWakefield, UK4 contributionsStayed at the Relais Ca'Sabbioni, cannot fault this delightful hotel, has 2 floors, is spotlessly clean, and tastefully decorated, free coffee and tea in reception area, lovely gardens to the rear and an area to eat or just relax in. The service and hospitality is fabulous, nothing is too much trouble, doors opened for you, polite and welcoming greeting, food is excellent, is a 15 minute bus ride to Venice but well worth the journey, it is at the side of a road and there is a camp site at the back, was only there 3 nights but would return again.Written September 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Asiyah Noemi KPula, Croatia5,046 contributionsThe Brenta Riviera, a well-known waterway between Padua and Venice, is a panoramic area of the historical, artistic and cultural point of view. It reached its peak and significance during the Venetian Republic. In the center of the Riviera del Brenta is this charming town of Dolo, stretching along both banks of the Naviglia del Brenta. Walking along the river bank near the famous mills in Dolo we come across an interesting construction called "Squero". It consists of a hut roof with trusses, supported by ten brick pillars. Standing in the city center, the Squero was the place where boats landed or were repaired, while going upriver, carried by horses. In ancient times, these types of landings were common along the Brenta River and represented the bustling core of commerce. An evidence of this role is Calle dei Calafati, a street characterized by artisan shops, that is located nearby the Squero. The ancient structures connected to the River Port were characterized by the Squero and by numerous cafes, inns and shops, around which city life was bustling.Written November 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hendrik_NLVlaardingen, The Netherlands7,385 contributionsWhen visiting Dolo, take a look at this 16th century water mill on the river Brenta. The water wheel is still in operation. The mill house is now a restaurant with an excellent outdoor seating area with a view over the Brenta. Inside the restaurant memorables of the mill operation are still there.Written July 8, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
