Very simple accommodation in the center of Volar. Parking is for free right in front of the hotel. The room was clean and tidy, very simply furnished. The bathroom was clean, but the ventilation did not work very well, so the towels did not dry very well. The downside is that breakfast is only available from 8:00, so we didn't use it even once. We also did not use the hotel restaurant.

While touring the area a group of us stayed overnight on a busy Saturday.
Although there was a private party going on in the restaurant the Hotel did the best to accommodate us in the bar and moved in extra tables for our party of six.
The meal of wild boar and beer which is brewed on the premises was excellent.
The guest rooms were large and clean.
The only let down was that we had requested an early breakfast and there seemed to be a lack of communication the early morning staff did their best but we left slightly unfed!

My wife and I have been visiting Volary for many years as it is situated in a lovely area of South Bohemia. Until recently good accommodation has been hard to find but now with this recently fully refurbished hotel this problem has been overcome. The staff are friendly and several speak English. Not only is the restaurant good, with menus in English, it also has a microbrewery serving its own excellent beer. The breakfast is good and varied. The hotel does not have a swimming pool or a fitness centre but if you want to be pampered the hotel has a comprehensive spa treatment facility.
Although the hotel is centrally located it has free parking and noise levels at night will not disturb. There are shops and other pubs nearby and the railway station is only 10 minutes walk away. The railway can be used to gain access to numerous nearby walking trails and paths and it is for this reason that my wife and I have gone back to Volary so many times. If you like walking or cycling in a beautiful area with a comfortable base you won't be disappointed with this hotel.

It was late evening we were looking for any bed for this night, when we finally saw ugly panel house in the centre of Volary. We just wanted anything to eat and sleep, but Bobik was real surprise. New minimalist interior is nice and a meal was simply terrific. Looked great and tasted even better! Like in very, very good restaurant. I highly recommend, it is worth to make you stop here just for a great meal. There is also small brewery inside, but it was too new and the first beer made here yet matured. Unfortunately.
Hotel is owned by Volary town, it is newly renovated. Staff is not so much experienced, but you can see they are trying to. Rooms are relatively large, not bad. Bathroom are clean, light, but horribly constructed. Close your eyes and quickly wash themselves :-) But on the other side - we slept here very well, beds are really good.

Room was similar to when I visited before but I asked for a quiet room. My first two nights were good but when I returned later in the week the room was right above the hotel's pub next door with drunken customers sitting outside below our window. When I asked what time the pub would close I was told it could be 2 or 3 in the morning!!!! Breakfast boring but main meals good quality traditional Czech fare - a whole duck with bohemian knedlicky (yummy dumplings) cost about £20 for 3 people. The restaurant has a micro brewery and even has a special brew containing cannabis - lovely and all for just over £1 per pint. Beds comfortable and room clean with TV. Volary is great for walkers and has a station on 4 local different rail lines. The hotel also offers spa/massage services in its basement spa centre. This includes the sale of cannabis massage oil!! I offered to put the local tourist office in touch with some British walking/trekking organisations but the manager seemed offended at the very idea. It seems that from this and earlier experiences Volary wants to stay the same quiet little town acting as a good walking centre but only for those that know of it. This may be good for visitors but not for the local economy. A shame the authorities have appointed a tourist officer who will not help to change this situation. Some of the staff at the hotel, particularly the Vaslav in the restaurant and one of the receptionists were very friendly and helpful. If you like walking in the most beautiful area please go. It can be reached by bus from Prague (about 3 hours and £6 cost). Insist on a quiet room and remember - no air/con so will be hot in July/August

We spent a week in hotel Bobík in Volary (South Bohemia) and we were very satisfied. The staff are very kind and friendly. The rooms are very fine. In hotel is spa and all procedures were very nice. But the best is the restaurant in the hotel. All meals were super ... looked good and tasted even better! And in restaurant is a local brewery and beer is very, very good ... and if you have luck, you can see how the beer is brewed :).
The location of village Volary is very good for planning trips in national park or nice towns or villages ... it doesn't matter whether in summer or in winter, every time it's experience.

I did not spend a night in the hotel or stayed in the inner part of the restaurant Formanka. I ate on the terrace in front of the restaurant. We were two and both of us ordered beer, soup and ice cream. We had no objections to the beer and ice cream, but some to the soup which should have been a creamy garlic one. We did not taste a garlic there at all. It would be still OK and the rating would be between 3 and 4. However, when I got an invoice I saw there 3 ice creams (again we ordered everything 2x). Nobody wants to be deceived. In this restaurant I was :-( Never more!

Didn't stay in the hotel, but the food and home brewed beer is definitely worth sampling.
A good traditional Czech menu and a very nice beer at the normal Czech financial rate.
A must for anyone passing through.
Very nice.

Located in this small town, it was easy to reach by public transport, about 8 minutes walk from the station. From the outside, the building looks unimpressive, being an Eastern bloc construction. However once inside, right throughout it has been modernised and we'll kept.

Friendly check in. The room was was absolutely fine for the price paid. This is a budget price hotel but I had absolutely no complaints about the room.

I took evening dinner and beers in the restaurant. Both food, drink and service was exceptionally good plus good value for money.

Had a good night's sleep. Breakfast from 0800 was in a conference type room. Room was a tiny bit spartan and food perhaps not as good as what I had the previous evening.

Overall I would recommend this place if you are in the area or like me, just passing through. Do eat and or have their beer when staying as a tip.
