I have stayed Ansford Park Cottage a few times while in the area for work. The welcome at is as welcoming as the beautiful views across the levels. The beds are extremely comfortable and immaculately clean. Nigel's breakfasts are legendary made using locally sourced food and even homemade bread and homemade marmalade. A real treat each and every time. Highly recommended

Beautiful house, our room was perfect with breathtaking views! Fabulous hosts, Sue and Nigel are super... thoroughly recommend ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Walking distance to gorgeous Castle Cary a bonus :) Equally charming Wells and Bruton are easy to get to via public transport or taxi. So much more to explore... Short stay this time but we will be back :)

Sue & Nigel went out of their way to make us feel welcome & at home. Thank you so much. A memorable stay - highly recommended to anyone wanting a quiet, country break in a rural corner of Castle Carey with delicious home cooked breakfast. Go for the annex which has its own sitting room/limited cooking facilities thrown in.

My wife & I stayed for 2 nights on a return trip, 2 years after our first stop here. Both occasions were flawless. Sue & Nigel are perfect hosts, nothing seems too much trouble, the rooms are clean, & well decorated, the breakfasts cooked to order & the cottage is in a quiet & scenic location. All this at a fair room rate, with wi-fi included. Honestly cannot fault it..... However, I do not want more of you to go, as I always want availability..... so I hope that you never find it.

We were in two minds about writing a review as we want to go back again and if we publicise this jewel of a place then we might struggle to get in again! However, it would be completely unfair on Sue and Nigel who run this B&B if we kept it a secret.

We booked into this B and B while we walked two sections of the nearby Monarch's Way. Having asked for a bathtub (in which to soak aching limbs), we were shown into the annexe, with en suite facilities, a very comfortable lounge and a thoughtfully equipped kitchenette. Sue and Nigel couldn't do enough to ensure we were as comfortable as could be and even ensured the hot water was ready should we need a relaxing bath on arrival. The cottage, and annexe, have been very sympathetically renovated to provide high quality accommodation in the heart of the Somerset countryside, though only half a mile from the centre of Castle Cary. Breakfasts, cooked extremely well by Nigel, were delicious and as extensive as anyone could wish. We loved our stay here and hope to be back soon to explore some more of this beautiful area.
