Great hotel .
Welcoming hotel and staff . Spotless and taking all the correct COVID precautions although some of the gel dispensers were not working . All staff wore masks and had clear instructions for guests .
Dinner was quite good .
Karen was an accommodating host who was very very helpful .

Thank you for taking time to leave a review,it is much appreciated. The breakfast room sanitiser dispenser had run out of battery overnight and was replaced that very morning. We are happy to hear that you felt safe and that we are a COVID secure environment, this is very important for us all at the moment.

We stayed at this hotel during our North Coast 500 tour. We stayed here on our Golden Wedding Anniversary and there was a bottle of Prosecco on ice in our room which was a lovely welcome. The owners and staff were all very friendly and efficient and covid hygiene was taken very seriously. Our room had an adjoining sunroom and patio with table and chairs. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent with good choices. Breakfast was also excellent, we had a full breakfast and a continental breakfast with ham, cheese and croissant. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

We recently stayed here for a night and had a great time.

Nice clean rooms and comfortable beds.

Our evening meal was delicious and the breakfast was by far the best we had on our 5 day west coast trip.

This is a family run business and we met the owners David and Mary who are lovely people and take time to speak to their customers.

The barman, sorry can't remember his name was excellent and added to our experience at night. His personality is what is needed in any bar.

This hotel is in a fantastic location for touring and sight seeing around the Torridon, Loch Maree and Gairloch areas.

Having struggled to find decent dinners on previous B & B trips to Scotland, I decided to book a hotel and Kinlochewe Hotel did not disappoint. As previous reviewers have said - the hotel is fairly simple, but the food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious, the room (king size) was spacious and very comfortable, and after dinner (appropriately distanced!) conversations in the comfortable lounge made for a memorable experience.

The hotel's location on a very good road (but no problem from noise), makes it both accessible but also easy to disappear into the back of beyond within 10 minutes (if that's your thing).

I'd definitely recommend it - but I'd warn guests who may be expecting frills like TVs and bathroom toiletries!

Took family and grand parents to stay in bunk house for two nights ( 7 of us). Due to Covid restrictions we got the entire bunkhouse to our selves for £100 per night (Bargain!). Bunk house is well equipped with everything we needed. We bought provisions in a supermarket on the way to Kinlochewe. Had a great day climbing a mountain path on Beinn Eighe and swimming in Loch Maree.

In the evening had dinner in the bar which was fabulous, my wife had the Languistine to start followed by the beef, I had the scallops and black pudding to start followed by the sea bass and finished if with the cheese board. All well presented and cooked to perfection. The food and service was at a standard that most good restaurants only aspire to!

Bar has an excellent selection of whiskies and local beers on tap. The wine list was limited, but the wines that we tried, were excellent and very reasonable.

The next day we went to Gairloch and spent the day on the fantastic beach.

All in all, Kinlochewe Hotel exceeded our expectations considerably.

Negative point, lighting the oven in the bunk house was quite exciting - had to run the gas for a few minutes with before it would light with a bang and a few singed hairs!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is lovely to hear of families enjoying a get together after the difficult times of the last year or so. You all looked so happy together when you were sat having drinks in the garden. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your dinner with us and that we exceeded your expectations - thank you. A problem with the distant check in has been the difficulty in explaining the use of appliances ie the kitchen oven. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, I will ensure that we explain the operation to people in the future, we certainly don't want any more singed hairs!! Thank you again, maybe you will visit us again ifou come up to the West Coast

This was an excellent Hotel with welcoming staff and a nice atmosphere in a beautiful part of Scotland
Covid guidelines were followed strictly and the hotel was very clean. The room was nice with a sun room and, at our meal which was lovely, my Wife was presented with a large slice of cake to celebrate her Birthday.
Staff were very pleasant and attentive with a nice bar area and a good selection of local ales and spirits.
It was a bit strange not having a TV in the room, which we were told was due to bad reception, and there was not a lot in the village for us to see, but as we had been on the road for a while we didn't want to do a lot anyway. Would definitely recommend..

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We were all very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us especially as it was your wife's special day. Yes, we have no televisions in the hotel and though some people miss this, the peace and quiet give ample opportunity to relax. The wifi isn't too bad so it is normally possible to stream something on your own device if you require. Hopefully we may saa you again if you are in the area.

After 5 days tough walking in awful rainy grey weather this hotel overnight stop turned out to be an absolute gem. A friendly and most helpful greeting by the lady proprietor on arrival was much appreciated. Followed by a public room tour and introduction to my room which revealed a tidy reasonably sized double with a large en suite sporting a wonderful bath/shower to soak away the grime, bog, damp and aches having yomped over some wild terrain. The room was big enough to air everything in my rucksack, including one man tent as well as drying quite a lot of kit. Though nothing could have dried my Scottish swamp filled boots in the time available!

An ideal stay as part of the NC 500, the hotel has plenty of parking and warm welcome as you arrived. The room we were given had access through the garden with a separate room off the bedroom were you could sit and enjoy the garden. The facilities in the room were very good, it was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent with a great choice of food and a large select from the bar, the food was well prepared and hot, service was quick and friendly. A large breakfast in the morning sets you up for the day, again a good choice. Best to book the restaurant as it gets busy.

This is the third time i have stayed at the Kinlochewe Hotel although this was my first experience with new owners, Donald & Julia. I bring groups of photographers to this area every year and we require clean comfortable rooms, good food and friendly staff. All of these we get at the Kinlochewe. Donald, Julia and their team could not do enough to ensure that our stay was a home from home and there was nothing that was too much trouble for them. I cannot recomment the Kinlochewe Hotel and their staff highly enough. We will definitely be back. If you are visiting the area, this is the place to stay!

We stayed in the garden room with direct access to the garden for our dog, complete with a small porch for us to put our rucksacks and sort our kit out, and our own table and chairs to sit outside and enjoy and evening drink. Food was tasty, good range of choice, and friendly and helpful service. Perfect place to stay with a dog.

Hello Paul Thank you for your email. We are sorry that you were disappointed about not getting a drink yesterday evening. During the winter months we do not operate on set hours but rather close the bar when there is no-one in. Yesterday we closed around 1015pm when no-one was in the bar. Most of our customers come in earlier in the evening and it is most unusual for anyone to come in for a drink after 9pm in the winter months. We are one of very few hotels/bars in the Highlands who are open at all at this time of year, most others being closed completely for the winter. We try to operate a service for our customers all through the year but we do have to balance this with operating a viable business. We stay open most nights until 9pm and, at that time, our bar staff assess whether it is viable to remain open or to close. Some nights we remain open until midnight, some nights we close at 9pm. It entirely depends on if we have customers or not. I am sure you can understand that it would not be viable to remain open until 11pm/midnight every night regardless of whether we have customers or not. Economically it would not be sensible and the winter months are hard enough for businesses in the remote Highlands! We have notices in our windows detailing our opening hours but we do not specify the closing times, specifically for the reasons given above. If you are planning to come in for a drink we would suggest you come in a little earlier, or give us a call on 01445 750253 to check our opening status. We hope that this answers your questions and we would like to reassure you that we do our utmost to provide our guests and customers with a warm and hospitable service whilst maintaining a viable business for them to come to. We wish you all the best for the festive season, Andrew & Gail
