The location is fantastic (right across the street from the Gloucester St. tube), but the rooms were pretty beaten up and service was lax at best. I know that DoubleTree is not a luxury brand, but the pictures certainly did not reflect the dreary rooms. We had a split level king room, so there was a living area on the lower floor that included a sofa bed, and a bedroom area up the spiral staircase. There were two televisions, one on each floor There was only one bathroom, located on the upper floor. It was very small with very limited shelf space. There was only a shower, and the hot water runs through the pipe in the shower and can burn. I booked the room for my family, and I appreciated that the staff had already pulled out and made up the sofa bed. However, there were a lot of issues otherwise. They have removed the mini fridges from the rooms, and the front desk staff stated that if I needed to keep my medicine cool, the concierge would keep my medicine in the hotel refrigerator, or they could bring me a bucket of ice. Not a great solution. The housekeeping staff keeps their pallets of towels in the hallways throughout the day. The hallways are very narrow, and at night, the lights are only lit by motion, so walking through a dark hallway with large obstacles, not a great idea. Also, while we were in the room on our last morning, housekeeping barged in without knocking asking if we would leave. I know that there was a language barrier, but surely Hilton does some decorum training? Given the location on Cromwell, the location is very loud. Our room overlooked the main road, and we could hear traffic all night long. Breakfast is a buffet, and it's expensive for what it is. If you don't have HIlton status (ie if you have to pay for breakfast), don't eat here. Go to an area breakfast restaurant for a hotter and cheaper meal.

Hotel's Favorite
Hotel in a great location, very central and close to Gloucester Road tube. The hotel has a beautiful and well-kept garden where you can have tea and relax, there are 5 domes under which you can book an afternoon tea with excellent pastries. The breakfast buffet is very varied, there is a vast choise of dishes, the staff in the dining room is always at your disposal. The pancake machine made at the moment was much appreciated. My family and I asked for half board, the cook is very good and coocked very tasty dishes. We were able to choose various dishes during the 15 days of stay. Often at dinner there was the waiter Chris, of italian origins, whom we thank for his kindness and sympathy. The reception staff is kind and always available, they solved all our problems. A special thank go to them. The room on the top floor is spacious, with a new bathroom and overlooking the garden. It should has AN extra wardrobe and a small table to place the suitcases. In the bathroom is no set of personal hygiene, only bottles with dispenser of shampoo, body foam, conditioner, and body cream filled by the waiter. No shower cap, no solid soap. Rooms equipped with hairdryer and iron with iron board. Perfect 15 days of holidays, we will back. Highly recommended

We were very pleased with our recent stay at this hotel. The location is superb, literally located across the street from the major Glouster Road Tube station. The Piccadilly, District and Central lines stop there, making it very easy to get around London. If you wish, you can take the Piccadilly line to Heathrow Airport, at 7 UK pounds one way, a bargain for expensive London. BTW, if you're going to ride the Tube, buy an all day pass. Paying for single station to station rides can be VERY expensive on the London Underground. There are many restaurants and shops nearby the hotel, especially on Glouster Road, across the street. There is a large Sainsbury's supermarket a five minute walk away on Cromwell Road. My only minor criticisms are that there were only British channels available on the TV; no other foreign channels that the TV guide listed as being available, such as CNN, Bloomberg, etc., worked. The hotel reception desk told us this was a "hotel wide" issue, i.e., for some reason the hotel was somehow not connected to these listed channels, which was a tad disappointing. This is not expected for a major Hilton brand. Also (very, very minor issue), perhaps someone could explain how the showers work. We had a little problem trying to shift between the rain shower and the shower head and getting the right temperature. It seems that all hotels have different plumbing and TV remotes, which you have to fiddle around with to use. Having said this, the wifi was very good. We would definitely stay here again and will do so on our next trip to London

Spent some time waiting on our room in the restaurant/bar, Ken’s. Staff was great and food was delicious. Bhupendra Singh served a great martini and took time to answer all our US to UK visitor questions! Burger was undercooked for the way we like but they hit it a little extra and it was perfect.

Great location walking distance to museums, nice rooms and great bathroom. Lost a star as we had to wait 1 hr past check in to get into our rooms, and the breakfast hot food was consistently lukewarm warm which wasn’t nice. If they can sort the check in and breakfast they’d get that extra star !

Went to London for a week with my mother, brother, sis-in-law, and nephew in Feb 2024. We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in two connecting Deluxe Double rooms, each with 2 double beds. I'm a Hilton Honors member and our room rate included daily breakfast. The Good... The rooms are spacious enough for the amount of people that were staying in each room (split 2 and 3 respectively). We loved the connecting rooms as it made it easier to hang out among ourselves in the privacy of our rooms. The bathroom was a decent size and plenty of towels were provided. Housekeeping came daily to make the room, take out trash, and replace towels. Our flight from NYC got in earlier than expected that morning, and we arrived at the hotel at 11am. We were able to leave our luggage with the concierge until our room was ready. The location of the hotel is great with easy access to public transport (tube station right across the street, and several bus stops within walking distance). Beds are comfortable, but the pillows are very flat and lumpy. The Not So Good... (If I'm being picky) Check-in is supposed to be at 3pm, but our rooms were not ready until after 3:30p. Not the end of the world, but after spending over 18 hours in the same clothing while traveling halfway around the world the only thing you want to do is take a proper shower and change into fresh clothing. They did offer us a voucher for a free round of drinks at the bar for the inconvenience. The bathrooms really need to have towel bars installed. There's only one little hook behind the door available to hang up your towel, no where near enough for a room that's meant to hold up to 4 people. For women, there's no great place to do your makeup if someone else is occupying the bathroom. The full-length mirror by the entrance doesn't have any lighting. The small desk has a small lamp, but no mirror. Adding a mirror on the blank wall over the desk would be such an easy fix. Breakfast includes a variety of popular breakfast items, but it's the same exact items every day. By the time our last morning arrived, we decided to have breakfast elsewhere. The hotel seems to be popular with families with small children as the breakfast area is overrun with small kids running around every morning. Expect to wait a while to use the pancake maker machine. Overall In short, we had a good stay. As noted above, there are a few things that could be improved, but overall I'd consider staying here again. It was a good value for the price paid - especially in a city like London.

This is the most terrible hotel. My luggage has stolen by a theft at the hotel lobby while I do the check-in. I put my luggage just right behind me and it got stole by a theft in less than 5 minutes. This hotel has no proper security and it supposed to be safe inside the hotel but it wasn't. I had a nightmare and terrible experience with this hotel and I recommend to anyone to think twice to stay at this hotel. It's totally unsafe inside this hotel. The manager, Sharwan Chauhan doesn't help at all and the receptionist, Yildiz don't even bother to help me when my luggage got stolen. The receptionist claimed that she didn't see anyone behind me that took my luggage, in fact from cctv footage there is a white guy with cap took my luggage and leave the hotel immediately. The entire staff is totally irresponsible with this robbery matter. The most terrible hotel I ever experienced!!

Stayed here for 1 night in room 305, lovely modern styled room, everything functioned fine but the air conditioning strangely turned hot around midnight which woke me up and had to turn it down again. As I diamond member I usually get water and a cookie at check in or in the room but nothing was offered, I had to return to reception and specifically ask, no room upgrade either which is rare I did feel the loyalty status perks were lacking at this hotel. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice and all food was properly hot not just warm. No bottle opener available for the room either at reception or in the room so make sure your bring your own or drink in the bar. Gloucester Road tube station was extremely conveniently located.
