Nestled in a scenic locale that has captivated many visitors, the Atholl Palace Hotel delivers a mix of experiences ranging from the praise of its immaculate conditions and comprehensive amenities, like the spa and cozy lounges, to concerns over value for money. While the rooms are often described as spacious, critiques do surface regarding noise and dated aspects. Guests appreciate the hotel's traditional ambiance and the professionalism of staff members such as Euan, although there's a consensus that some services could be enhanced.

What a wonderful experience. We arrived in time for a light lunch in the bar before enjoying the spa facilities during the afternoon. We had prebooked our treatments for late afternoon, and everything was fantastic. The staff were helpful, friendly, and professional. We enjoyed a gorgeous dinner in the restaurant in the evening. The setting was beautiful and staff outstanding. We then sat by a lovely fireside, enjoying a couple of drinks before retiring to our comfortable rooms. Woke up to the stunning views of the countryside. After a morning swim, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast with a great selection to choose from. We also managed to fit in a visit to the hotel museum, which was really interesting, before our departure. I must note that every member of staff we encountered - receptionist, barman, spa staff, chef, waiting staff, and the night porter were an absolute pleasure to deal with. It was my first visit to the Atholl Palace, and I hope to return soon. Top class in every aspect. Thank you for a wonderful mini break.

We arranged a 3 day visit with the TVR Car Club both local and UK. Over 80 people attended. Great location, guests attended from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Eire. The historic building and its site were a perfect backdrop for photos taken of the TVR cars. The hotel is spacious and comfortable and the staff were attentive and helpful. The ballroom was the perfect space for the formal ball, auction and dancing on Saturday night. The food was extremely good. We were aware of no complaints. Quite simply, it was a great week end enjoyed by all. Highly recommended!

This was not our first visit to the Hotel so we were expecting good service and an enjoyable stay. I am delighted to say we were not disappointed. All staff were very friendly and efficient. I had requested a room with walk in shower which was on a lower floor. The allocated room was perfect. I enjoy a swim so used the Leisure suite on several occasions. All meals were excellent with plenty of choice for all tastes and dietary requirements. I highly recommend a stay here and look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Everything was wonderful about our stay at the Atholl Palace Hotel. It is a beautiful historic hotel, which even has a museum. It is both comfortable and grand. Our room was more like a suite and had everything and more than we needed. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. This is more than a hotel, it is an experience and the views and walks in the gardens and surrounding countryside are just stunning. Unfortunately, the red squirrels are rather shy and we didn't spot any. Perhaps some feeding boxes in suitable spots would encourage them? I am sure visitors to the hotel would spare some change for nut supply with a donations box in the lobby.

We are on our way home from a fantastic 2-night DBB stay at the Atholl Palace. I feel instantly more relaxed upon arriving at this beautiful place. We hadn’t been to stay for a year or so and were so pleased to see some familiar faces among the staff- tells you it’s a good place as everywhere is struggling to keep staff just now it seems! We travelled with our 2 year old and we were made so welcome. Staff accommodated our request for a room with a bath, everyone smiled and chatted to our wee one when she was enjoying running through the wide open corridors, and we had our requests met by the chef at dinner for plenty peas for our girl! The kids menu definitely needs some work to offer more variety and balance for little ones (eg curry, pasta with mixed veg, small roast type meal, bolognaise or similar) to reflect the tasty food of the main menu. We enjoyed all that we ate and the buffet breakfast was excellent too. We swam at the pool, again with smiles from staff and guests alike. Our wee one was upset at check out and staff were so kind, bringing her a bear to remember her stay and make her smile. We enjoyed a good explore of the grounds and spent plenty time playing in the reception in front of the fire(s). Our room was a garden room which didn’t have the best view but was an amazing room- so spacious and a beautiful bathroom. We would give up the view for a fab room for our family like this. The room was very warm overnight, without the heating on- not sure why, but we were ok. Thanks- can’t wait until we can come back again!

Stayed for one night for our anniversary. The hotel was very nice and clean. Staff very polite and welcoming. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Heating in room uncomfortably hot, even when radiators turned off and window open. Shame about the food. Menu choice was very poor. The 3 course meal was awful!! Vegetable terrine was disgusting, beef stroganoff awful and frangipane dessert tasted like it had been lying for a few weeks. Not a very Scottish menu considering hotel location and priding itself on being Scottish. Supplements for other food on menu ridiculously priced. Would have expected meat to at least be from a local butcher as opposed to Campbell’s. Drinks prices extortionate!! Left bar earlier than planned as I could not justify £14.50 for a cocktail!! Spa area was nice and clean, again could not justify £90 for a massage. Grounds of hotel were well kept and scenic. Paid £199 for Wowcher deal which included 3 course meal and breakfast, spa access and snacks and Prosecco, did not think it was worth this price. I have stayed in better for a lot less. Left feel quite disappointed.

We arrived on Mon 26th Feb for my husbands birthday which was the 27th. We chose this hotel as 18 mths earlier we spent a week there and had a great time. This was a deal of DB&B. We chose 2 nights to celebrate. The whole experience of this hotel is beautiful, the service, hotel rooms, grounds and the food is very good, But the drinks are very expensive which you do expect of a hotel of this calibre. But when we went for dinner on the first night we couldn't believe that the cheapest bottle of white wine was £68 the red was £31 . We didn't have any wine needless to say and we did notice that no bottles of wine on any dining table but just glasses only. The drinks in the bar were just as bad as a Gin and tonic £ 5.50 for gin £4 for tonic. I did point out my displeasure when we checked out and the lady at reception wasn't aware of the wine prices and she seemed very shocked. I did say this has put us off going again which is sad as its a beautiful place.

Dear The2bluetownys, pleased that overall you enjoyed your visit. Apologies for the confusion over the white wine full bottle pricing, as we do sell both red and white from £31 ( house wines ) , then many others moving up well before the £68 you mentioned. I do hope this has delivered clarity. Hope to welcome you back sometime. Kind regards Graeme

Atholl Palace is beautiful building but while staying there for one night I felt like being in Shining film. There was nobody around. Hotel museum was very strange and especially the "games room"was quite frightning without any lights and being cold. Hotel room was tired and tv remote control was half broken (a tape was holding batteries in). I guess breakfast would have been nice but it was almost all gone when my family got there at 9 am (serving ends at 10) and there was no refilling. Also glasses where dirty - probably they mixed clean and dirty glasses by mistake or the dish washer did not work properly.
