Visited in march with our dog! £15 supplement to bring the dog with us. Room were very traditional, dated but traditional and charming. Lovely bar area, dog friendly, homely, heartwarming - great service- really enjoyed it! Breakfast options were OK. Our only issue was that there were no dogs allowed in the dining room. After booking, we received a message to leave the dog in the car for that time. No breakfast available in reception area - that would be our only feedback. Absolutely respect no dogs in the dining area but there should be an alternative option available. Staff were very friendly

Spent the night on 16th March with family. I can honestly say from check in to check out the hotel is first class. We had our dog with us who was made very welcome. Food was fabulous and the bothy bar is the most comfortable relaxing and friendly spot. The staff are so nice and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing and I was able to take one breakfast into the bedroom so my partner could watch the dog. Again above and beyond with the service. To top it all I forgot my phone but one call to reception and they found it in the bedroom and it was waiting for me when I got back. Honestly will be back regularly.

Who cares if it snows all day? - if that happens you can just tuck yourself up with a book by one of the warming log fires. The hotel is cosy, the rooms are clean, the food is good and, best of all, the staff are friendly and welcoming. I've stayed here several times now and never been disappointed, the Scottish ambience is brilliant. The Atholl Arms Hotel is a handy base for a winter break - we travel as far as Aviemore, Killin, Aberfeldy, Braemar and Perth, all of these being less than half a day away and great places to visit.

We are just back from a two night break. We had an excellent stay staff were friendly the room was spotless and the jacuzzi bath just topped it off. Breakfast was lovely, we also had dinner both nights and couldnt fault it. I have to say The Atholl Arms is one of my favourite hotels highly recommended.

It is not cheap, but comfortable, dog-friendly rooms, and all staff were helpful and friendly. We ate in the Bothy Bar - the soup was particularly good and most food was fine. Breakfast was good - freshly made with a fair amount of smoked salmon with the scrambled eggs.

Went there for a family meal. There were 11 of us; a combination of adults and children. The hotel had set up the tables for us so we could all sit together. The meal was fantastic value for money. Homely well cooked food and generous portions. I love haggis, but their haggis was the best I have had. Their steak and ale pie is definitely worth having as well. The children had macaroni cheese. Again generous portions and really tasty. If you have room after the main course then go for a pudding. The crumble was great as was the sticky toffee pudding. The whole experience was great. So if you like more traditional comfort food in a relaxed setting then Atholl Hotel is definitely worth a visit.

We’ve stayed at the Blair Castle caravan site on a few occasions so use the hotel for drinks and meals - we haven’t stayed there so can’t comment on the rooms. There’s a fairly extensive menu available in the bar and our experience has ranged from really poor to really excellent. On one recent occasion we tried the mixed seafood sharing platter ( the Fisherman’s lunch) and found it very disappointing - several of the main ingredients were missing (no whitebait, no calamari) and the smoked mussels were shrivelled and dry. Nor was there enough food to share - it was a reasonable sized dish for one person in which case at £24.95 it was overpriced. On a second occasion we stuck to more traditional bar food - fish and chips and Cullen Skink, both of which were excellent. As was the steak pie on a third occasion. I think the morale of the story is - stick to the basics and avoid the fancier options. The really disappointing thing about the bar is that it’s table service only - this may be a hangover from covid days but it leaves the bar feeling soulless and un-inviting, particularly for solo visitors. When I go to a local bar on my own I want to feel part of something - chat to the bar staff and maybe socialise with other people. When you’re forced to sit at a table by yourself it just doesn’t feel welcoming and to be honest you’d be as well sitting at home on your own. I heard one resident of the hotel who wanted a drink to take back to their room being told that they had to sit at a table to order it - no service at the bar. It’s a real shame - it’s put me off going back to the bar on my own (or with the dog) even for a quiet pint and a bag of crisps. The waiting staff are friendly, but I’d much rather sit at the bar, or at least be able to go to the bar to order my own drinks rather than try to catch the eye of a passing waiter when the bar’s bus and then having to wait until they bring the drink back to my table after it’s been sitting poured on the bar for 5 minutes. We will go back, but mainly because the food (mostly) is good and apart from the golf club there isn’t really an alternative for a drink. Could be so much better.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Set in the back drop of the beautiful Perthshire countryside. We stayed in a double superior room which was excellent. It was very clean with good facilities. The food in the restaurant was superb nothing really fancy just good quality local produce. But best of all was the staff. They were all very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
