The hotel is situated near restaurants, château, churches, and Tram. A big thank you to Mr Stephan for assisting ou family during our 4 nights stay. He was knowledgeable and helpful in all our needs. This was our 2nd time staying in this hotel when we’re in Caen.

EXCELLENT welcomed, great location. Decor could improve but staff so friendly. Located just on the pier, couldn’t be better. Storage space for bicycle, room was welcoming and clean. Great big bath in the room, excellent advice about local restaurants.

Friendly welcome at reception, very informative and polite. There is no elevator (we were on the 4th floor), but this wasn’t a problem as we are quite fit. The room was very clean, however there was only a curtain between the bed and bathroom (so no privacy). It was also quite warm as there was no air conditioning - it might have helped if a fan was provided. Overall, I would be happy to stay again, the price and location was perfect - very central for a one night stay visiting Caen.

Checked in at 3pm, very friendly, informative receptionist with map and details of the whole area. Lots of information available at reception. Room was great, comfy bed, good WiFi, kettle and condiments. Nice shower and plenty hot water. Very good blackout curtains. Car park opposite and lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Only recommendation would be a china cup instead of disposable. I needed ear plugs as there is a lot of noise but I am a light sleeper.

I stayed on 12th august arriving late on ferry from Portsmouth. Lauranne , receptionist, assured me she would stay on duty until I arrived. Then eventhough, it was late, she gave thorough support about how to get bus in the morning to St Malo. Simple room, clean, good value and ideal for central stay in Caen. Thank you so much.

The hotel is centrally located and very easy to find from the airport - just take bus 3, every 15 minutes, and for 1.50 euro - get off at the theatre - and after short walk you're at the hotel. Reception opens at 2pm, my reservation was handled very professionally - and the man at the desk, whose birthday it was, was excellent - a great asset to the hotel. My room was 101 on the first floor - there is no lift, so beware if you have mobility issues. The room was fine, the bed was hard, but for me that was great. The TV had a good selection of channels - but none in English, so no catching up with the news - not necessarily a bad thing... The shower was ok, and the water is hot. The toilet was in a seperate room - but all contained within the bedrooom. There is good wifi throughout the building, but you may have to re connnect afte 24 hours. Breakfast, served from 0715 is adequite, as typically continental, so no hot food, but enough to fill you through the morning.. There is a fair amount of noise from outside in the early hours - so if you prefer quite, then higher floors would be recommended. All in all I really enjoyed this hotel, very centrally located, and perfect for a three night stay..

I'll start with the bad part if you have any sort of mobility issues - this hotel does not have ground floor rooms (that I saw, anyway) and does not have an elevator. If that's a deal breaker for you, you can stop reading now. Otherwise, this is a fairly decent hotel. The rooms are small, as are all budget rooms in old European cities, but not terribly small. The WC and shower are separate, WC was very small, and the shower was a good size but the shower room is quite small. Our shower room had a curtain closing it off from the bedroom because a door wouldn't have opened properly into the room, and a closed door wouldn't have left much room to towel off after a shower. Pretty tight quarters. I found the mattress a bit thin and my back was a bit sore after three nights there. Other than that, the room was quite adequate and it was well located for touring around Caen. There's a fairly major bus stop just about 100 metres away where you can catch a bus to many destinations. We travelled to Pegasus Bridge and Juno Beach from there. The room has a nice view of the Bassin, which is less than 100 metres away, and on Sunday morning you can step out the hotel door and directly into the Sunday morning market which takes up the whole area in front of the hotel. One word of caution: this area of Caen has many bars, and the people of Caen seem to like wandering around all hours of the night, yelling, singing, whistling. Every night, often until close to 5AM. Keep your window closed or the noise will keep you awake. In summary, the hotel is okay. Nothing special, nothing bad, great location, very nice staff.

This is a good budget hotel close on the city quay - we often stay here when we want to eat out in Caen and have a drink - the rooms are on the small side but bright, clean and comfortable. My husband says the showers are some of the best in any hotel he has stayed in (and that is a lot!). If you stay on a Saturday though, be warned it is very noisy on the quay until the early hours and at around 5am the big Sunday market starts on the quay carpark and is very noisy if the window is open (no air con).

The hotel is in a good location not far from the port, a laundromat and most of the attractions the town has. This appears to be a safe area with parking for your car across the road. The staff were all friendly & helpful. We dropped our bags in and headed off to do some sightseeing. The room was small but had a comfortable bed. The hotel needs redecoration and is very tired looking. There was no lift but we knew that at the time of booking Once the car park across the road is full it is hard to find parking. This is not the hotels fault but a fact of life in Caen. We parked at the hippodrome for free after advice from a resident.

Being so cheap I thought it would be a little grotty, but to my surprise it was lovely. Don't let the reception put you off. My husband and I stayed in a really cute bedroom with a massive ensuite. The owner waited up for us and gave us a code to get back if needed. The facilities are basic but clean and functional. €63 for two adults and breakfast, couldn't ask for more.
