Great style, but also very comfortable, clean and in a great way somehow different from all the mainstream hotels. Great, individual interieur, artistic, comfortable bed and pillows. Good parking opportunity. - I will definitely come back next time I am in Berlin!

I always read bad reviews about a hotel first- usually I can tell if it was one disgruntled traveler, vs. a real issue with the hotel. Unfortunately, a friend of a friend had liked it here, so I did not do my usual due diligence past the first several reviews which were all positive. First the positives: Fun concept, with each room having its own funky art theme. The location is great, walking distance from most museums, Reichstad, trains station, etc. The staff we dealt with was lovely, although first telling me where the stairs are when we are obviously an older couple with large suitcases…I assumed we were just up the 6 stairs he showed me, not up three flights after that! Luckily I only did that when we could not figure out how to get the door to unbolted so we could close it, and the front desk person kindly helped. Now, the negatives: No air conditioning-This would have not been awful if the hotel was not right next to train tracks which are constantly active. (When we arrived, they told us they were upgrading us to a better room so that we were not “right next to the train tracks,” but instead facing the courtyard. I can only imagine how much worse that would have been, especially with having to keep the windows open!) Added to that, there is a lovely garden, but if people are in it talking, the sound carries as though they were next to you. Right now, someone is watching a video in the garden, and laughing loudly and we have a very early taxi. And of course the windows have no screens. It felt one step away from a youth hostel. The shower was tiny, so my husband who is 6’3” felt like he could barely move in it. When they cleaned the room, we had left the one tiny bar of soap in the shower on the water controls, (There was nowhere in the shower to put anything) and whomever cleaned got rid of it but did not replace it. I would not stay here again, and only recommend it to someone who wanted a fun place to stay and did not care about the constant train noise.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so contradicted about a hotel before. Overall we had a good stay but there were some signifiant negatives! Positives - great service - nice reception area with selection of drinks. Nice little patio that we sat in each evening - you’lol see why in a mo - perfect location! We love walking and from here it was about 5 mins to brandenburg gate and the reichstag. - 8 mins away walking from the main train station that we headed to from the air port - great river front bars about 10 mins away - clean room - comfortable bed Negatives - I don’t know if this was my fault but I can’t remember seeing anything about a train line. We were in room 217. Half the hotel is literally on the train line. We aren’t talking about uk trains either. I grew up near one and live on a main road so noise it’s not usually a problem. But… this is some heavy duty loud train and they are every few minutes all day every day. They stop I think between midnight and 4am but it is relentless. You do get given ear plugs and you need them. - it was hot when we were in Berlin and there is no air con. We had all the windows open and to be honest it was lovely but the noise, my god. We avoided the room until we were so knackered we passed out. We sat in the courtyard or found a nice park somewhere and had a few drinks so found a nice way round to manage. But you cannot get away from it, and as I mentioned I live on a main uk road. This was like being strapped to the underside of a train and no joke. Even saying that though, because we were walking 16 miles or so a day we did sleep well. We got woke up when the trains started again but my Sony headphones were a saver! - we booked the hotel because it looked quirky and arty. Our room was white with a few black spots and a picture of eyes. It was tired with marks on the wall etc and just didn’t look loved. I think we could have got a better hotel for the same price if not cheaper to be honest. It was a nice hotel in its own way but the charm and the location just wasn’t enough to cover the noise and the lack of excitement about staying there. I thought the hotel would be quirky and unusual and it just wasn’t. Would I stay again? No. £333 for three nights. We had a nice stay but I think that’s because we loved Berlin. The hotel itself was just blah.

I’d give it zero stars if I could. Appreciate it’s a budget hotel but the bedroom was filthy, dead spiders on the wall, old cobwebs, mould. Equally the bathroom was filthy. I wished I paid extra and got a better hotel which was clean and had aircon. Staff didnt even ask how my stay was when I left. I stayed out in Berlin all day just so I didn’t have to go back to my room.

Great experience and would 100% return! The whole experience was great. Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival. Provided a good explanation of Berlin and getting around, as well as providing maps and highlighting important aspects (hotel location, tourist attractions ect). They were also able to provide good dining suggestions, and tips for being prepared over the Easter weekend. I felt really welcomed in this space which was so nice. The room itself was great. As a solo traveller, it provided a good amount of space to have luggage out, plus a small table, hanger and decent sized single bed. The window opened onto the stunning courtyard. Although cold, it was lovely to have the fresh breeze and watch the sunrise/ set from bed. The bed was really comfortable, and I had no concerns. The hotel also provided earplugs, however I had no need for them. Shared bathrooms were reasonably clean and I didn’t have any issues with wait times for toilets or showers. In terms of location, it’s about a 10 min walk (leisurely) to the closet S-Bahn. If you’re not worried about walking, I found it pretty central to get around to most tourist places. The neighbourhood felt safe and clean, and was well lit at night. I can’t wait to come back!

Not a good experience with this hotel. My son and I got the worst room right next to the train coming ind every 10. second 24/7. They put ear plugs in our room but of course they couldn't keep the horrible train noise away. We didn't sleep at all that night and they couldn't offer us another room so we had to cancel the rest of our trip and move to a different hotel. I feel like this was not communicated to me before I booked this hotel very carefully. I thought it would be a total different and nice art experience. It is not clear from the website that some of the rooms are so horrible with regards to the noise that it is completely impossible to stay in. I think this much noise exceeds the level of how much noise is even legal.

NOT RECOMMENDED! The reason I give it 1 star is because the women's bathrooms had dried blood in the sinks and the bathroom had a pungent urine smell that you could smell from the hotel corridor. What bothered me the most was that one of the people who clean the hotel shouted at my mother and when I went out to see what was going on she yelled at me too. She stood at the bathroom door in a threatening manner and blocked our way. Such treatment is unacceptable. When we returned to the room, her colleague was standing over my pyjamas and underwear which I had left folded on the bed but which she had thrown on the floor and stepped on again and again with dirty shoes. and to my things. I did not come on holiday to Berlin to be mistreated in the hotel. I expect an answer from them.

Obviously we were meant to be in Berlin as I’m writing this review right now. Because of Covid-19 and government advice not to travel, we can no longer go on our trip as planned. So this review is about customer service and not the aesthetics of the hotel which I have no right to be commenting on. Initially I called, then got told to send an email, so I emailed, got sent back an offer of 50% of my money back or a postponement. I had been unwell myself so I took a few days to reply due to these personal reasons, but then I gladly accepted the offer of the 50% refund which I found to be reasonable enough. But then a different member of staff replied and said it was not longer possible because “the situation has changed” and it was “a little too late”...YES, IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE! There is NO WAY we could travel now! I’m very appalled by this unprofessional service. I have in black and white that they were willing to refund half my money. They did not have any terms and conditions to that offer. There was no mention of a deadline or a change to this policy being possible at all. It is deeply unprofessional, and frankly unethical, to hold onto people’s money at this time. I’m a student with a limited budget who just wanted to take my mother away for her birthday for a couple days. I even found the airlines more accommodating and understanding than this hotel, which is saying something! I didn’t realise I would be offered a half refund with zero stipulations just to then be declined it, even in spite of these awful circumstances. I understand hotels lose business etc due to this, but equally you shouldn’t promise something in black and white without any stipulations and fail to deliver. If it weren’t for the fact that they’re now holding onto 100% of my money despite saying otherwise, I would’ve gladly returned at a later date and recommended this place to friends. Truly disappointing.

Location is very convenient to everything! The unfortunate proximity to the train track is the only reason I cannot give it 5 stars. Definitely ask for a room that is further away from the railway if you are sensitive to noise, but for me I had a good sleep and hardly heard the trains. However, rooms are great, staff is friendly and you can walk to many interesting places from here within 10 minutes!

Hotel did not meet expectations at all. The room was not clean and in particular the shower has mold and hairs on the wall. Wireless was advertised but only worked in the lobby not in the room. On the ok side are the double windows that alleviate a bit the fact that the windows faces directly the very busy S-Bahn line.
