Is stayed one night only in mid August/2021. The self check-in system is great but I was confused about the parking card that I should get and no one was there to ask at 10pm. The room I got looks new and clean but It was smelling cigarette. It was hard to sleep because it was too hot inside and there's no AC. My room was on front of the avenue so it was bit noisy when leaving the window open. That's why they leave a pair of earplug.

Not a fan of online check-in. I prefer dealing with real people not a telephone agent. Restaurant on site closes at 4pm so not that useful. Located next to (noisey) busy railway on one sie with trains every minute and a busy road with trams on the other. To cap this off there is a petrol station 20m from the hotel door - so bring your ear plugs! No aircon either, so window had to be open.

Dear scotsman57, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. At McDreams, we put a lot of care and effort into making sure all our guests get a perfect night's sleep. We are very sorry that your sleep was disturbed due to road/rail traffic noise. To make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible, we have installed soundproof windows and doors in every room. While we can't do much about the city noise, our guests in turn benefit from an excellent location. We hope that we get the chance to welcome you again another time. Gorgeous greetings Ella Guest Relations Agent

Me and my fiancé stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is very clean and tidy and the tv is smart so you can chill and watch Netflix. It is quite out the way from the main town.
The first night there was road works outside the window throughout the night that kept us awake. We managed to get a late check out and we had house keeping banging on the door at 09.20 and again at 10.06.
For the price and the fact this place has free parking overall it was good however house keeping need to chill a little.

We booked it on a short notice, decided to travel to Düsseldorf and found a room available for a very good price one day before said travel. It's situated a bit outside of town center but the nearest metro station is like a 10min walk away, so that wasn't such a bid deal. One could easily rent a bike or something is walking seems troublesome. There's a parking lot in front of the hotel but also an underground garage, luckily we managed to find a free space there. Might be a bit tricky if arriving late. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

The price for a non-sharing room is excellent; elsewhere, it would typically be the cost of a shared room. The room and toilet were very clean and provided with soap and towels. The only issue I encountered was difficulty opening the door with the pin passcode. I had to ask someone who passed by, another guest staying in a different room, to assist me in opening my room door.

The online check-in is a bit problematic because it is not clearly explained, so you may need some time to get used to it.

However, the main problems are:
- Noise.
- Lack of air conditioning. Meaning: You are going to be well roasted in summer, and frozen to dead in winter.

Sure it is cheap, and there is free underground parking provided, but that´s about all that is good with it.

We stayed here to visit the 'Final Fantasy - Distant Worlds' concert at the Mitsubishi Electric Halle, which is close to the hotel (about a 15 minute walk) and made it the ideal choice to stay. There's plenty of parking space (underneath the hotel), and there's public transport nearby (Tram 705) that leads directly to the city center. (about a 15-20 minutes ride)

We found out that you can buy tickets on the tram itself at a ticket-machine and decided to buy 48-hours free-traveling tickets, which had a nice reduction in price if bought for multiple travelers.

The hotel itself is a budget hotel with limited staff and doesn't have its own restaurant (so no option for an included breakfast), but there are two restaurants in the same building that can facilitate breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had a very decent lunch at the cloud-kitchen myself. The other restaurant is an all-you-can-eat&drink, which we enjoyed as well.

The rooms of the hotel are small, decent and clean. All the usual facilities were there (an okay shower, toilet, TV, hairdryer, etc.) but don't expect too much luxury. I was pleasantly surprised however, that the window possessed a roll-down-shutter system. I like my room dark at night ;)

Also, checking out it easy. You simply don't have to. ;) The doors do unlock after the checkout time however, so that the cleaners can do their job. The personal code to unlock your door will become invalid after that time.

The only real drawback to this hotel is that it doesn't have air-conditioning in its rooms (it does have a radiator). We were here in March, so no issues there, but I can imagine the rooms can become really hot during summer.

All-in-all the place definitely offers great value for its price/night, and would definitely stay here again if there's another concert to our liking! =)

Dear sbarbas2019, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. As a budget hotel, our aim is to offer our guests the best value for money, or in other words, as much hotel as possible for as little money as possible. We tried to cut down all cost-intense features and facilities to offer our guests the best available room rate. Every unused square metre or extra wardrobe causes unnecessary costs for you every night. Instead of wasting your budget on unnecessary frills, save it while you sleep! Thanks again for sharing your feedback, and we hope that you were able to enjoy your stay with us nevertheless. We would be pleased to welcome you again soon. Kind regards, Christoph Klein (Manager McDreams Hotels)

Didn’t have my booking and unmanned reception after 10pm - had to phone night porter who eventually turned up and still couldn’t find my booking ... was “lucky” to get a room (a cold shoebox)
Getting into the room continued to be a problem as their keypad system was crap
Staff not that friendly....would never go back
