Room was very very small. No restaurant or bar at night. I only stayed here for one night, and wouldn't stay here again, for the price, I now realise that I could've got much more for my money, although I shall be claiming it back as a business expense. As the hotel is very close to the military academy, there was significant noise, shouting, jeering etc, up until 11.00pm, although this is not the hotels fault. There are hotels extremely close to the Europa which offer much better value.

Yes the rooms are small, which is only normal for moderately priced hotels in Italy, but the price is very good for the location; only 200m from the old Modena center and maybe 400m from the train station. Yes, the hotel is a bit old, but it is comfortably and very clean; even my wife was impressed. The staff is very friendly, the service very good and English is no problem. It is said that Maria Rosa at the front desk can solve all problems terrestrial or cosmic. The typically Italian hotel breakfast is a wide range of pastries, bread, cereal, fruit an yogurt with a few slices of salami thrown in for the Germans. They have a garage for €20 or can give you a free parking pass for the street. We went up to Modena to see friends on New Years eve. So this was a good and

Dear Socmel123, thank you so much for your kind review. We are in a perfect city position, just few minutes walking from the old town, railway station and Ferrari Museum. So happy to know that you appreciated our amazing staff and especially Maria Rosa! We're fortunate to have a team that comes to work every day with a "can do" attitude. Thank you for your feedback about breakfast and the composition of the buffet. Hope to welcome back in the future for another pleasant stay! Best Regards

Sadly, this Best Western was unlike other European BW hotels and more like those in the UK. There are four BW hotels in Modena, one in the centre and three along the Corso Victor Emanuele. After a mix-up we booked into this one without seeing the room. A 4th floor room, the door opened onto a wardrobe which sits inbetween the bedroom on the left and the bathroom on the right. It was a small room with air-con, the bed taking up most of the space. A window opened on to the back of a building and a narrow alley. The room looks tired, the bathroom needs upgrading, the lift shows much evidence of use. The room had air-con but only one socket, a safe which was broken, two chairs, some shelving, a kettle, and a TV. The bathroom contained some toiletries and an old fashioned

Dear ge0rgiana, thank you for your review. Hotel Europa doesn't belong to Best Western chain, it is an indipendent 3 star hotel. Every day we try our best to improve our level of services thanks to our professional staff. We offer two options for parking: a private garage or the possibility to park for free nearby the hotel in the blue lines. Hope you could give us another chance to experience our hotel. Best Regards

Location is very good, close to the old city. Air condition was good and shower was ok. The room we got was dated, tattered and a bit depressing. Old Bed with 2 mattresses rather than one double as we booked. One mattress was completely sinking in and he middle. Blinds on windows were hardly helping at all and looked like old table cloth. Breakfast is too much on the sweet side without one vegetable in sight. There is no connection between the photos they publish and the real room. Price was quite high for a 3 star hotel at this particular level.

I had a really great stay. A very nice and cosy room. Particularly wonderful staff: always helpful and smiling. The breakfast is also very nice. The location is perfect, close to downtown and the train station. I will definitively go to Europa for my next visit.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. When we arrived it seemed nice and clean, we checked in and got our room key. We then went to our room. That’s when things changed! When we first entered the room, it smelt like it hadn't been used in a while. We were also greeted by our own guests! 30 flies! We thought ok, we will go out and explore the city and inform reception and they will take care of it when we are out. We headed to reception, handed the key in and explained the situation! To which we where first questioned: are you sure it’s flies and not mosquitoes? As if we don’t know the difference (we are from milan where there is significantly more). So I thought maybe its because I'm speaking English, so my partner spoke in Italian and explained the situation. The

Dear William, we are sorry to hear about your negative experience at Hotel Europa. Your room overlooks one of the most lovely boulevard of the city and during the cleaning procedures we always open the window to air rooms. We really care about guests journey and their satisfaction and we have taken all your comments on board and they have been shared with the respective heads departments to take the necessary actions. Moreover, we are really sorry you perceived our staff behaviour rude. Our reception team is generally appreciated by our guests for its professionalism and kindness. We value your time and effort to share your feedback and concerns with us so that we can continuously improve our levels of service in efforts to be better tomorrow than we are today. We do hope that in the near future we will have the opportunity to restore your faith in us. Best Regards

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and comfortable and despite being on the road side it was very quiet. The noise we had was from the hotel itself, people scraping chairs across the tiles floor, slamming doors etc. The photographs on the website show a bar, this is a bit misleading as the photo is of the bar/restaurant next door. It is in a great location to walk into the city centre to explore Modena, and a short walk to the Ferrari museum. Staff were very helpful with ideas for a days drive into the countryside. Although their car park is very small, and twenty euros a night, you can park on the street and they give you a card for your windscreen so you don't have to pay. I would stay here again as it is good value for the money.

After a walk through squalid corridors, i found my room, sort of a plasterboard cubicle realized in a recess. At first step, i realized the tremendously bad small of bathroom, the sticky floor with dirt spreaded instead of cleaned, stained and worn furniture, and the en-suit is again a small origami of plasterboard sharing part of the room's window, with lavatory placed literally under the basin. Shower is the most raised place to enjoy such piece of architecture. Bed is uncomfortable, doors are rattling, minibar placed on top of the desk, with dust balls around. I only enjoyed the chunks of homemade cakes for breakfast. On the other hand, i've had a really bad coffee from automatic dispenser (some clients could get hand-made coffee...). An (expensive) garage service is

My wife and I stayed 2 nights with a TripAdvisor PrePay. After arriving on the morning train from Mantova, we walked 500 meters S to this hotel along a wide tree lined street. An English speaking clerk copied our passports and stored our bags, and we were off for the next several hours with the Ferrari Museums. Returning at 4PM, we retrieved our bags and our key and took the elevator up to the 2nd floor. Our tiled #240 entered to a closet wardrobe, and to the side, a fully outfitted bathroom with tub shower. The good sized bedroom had a comfortable king with back shelf for nightstands, desk with extended shelf unit with chair, wall TV(no English), 2 extra chairs, refer with safe, and hot pot for tea. The large insulated window opened to the sidewalk, and with shutters, enjoyed

Worst hotel I've ever been in. The room was very small and old fashioned. The door and walls are so poorly done and thin, that we could hear even at 2am the employees talk at the entrance. Sleeping was definitely not possible due to all the noise coming from the staircase, lift, staff and neighbors. In the room we could smell gaz and oil which made it even more difficult to sleep. For the amount we paid for the room, this was a disgrace.
