Absolutely first-class on every level. The staff are friendly, helpful and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. I became unwell during my stay and received an incredible level of care and concern. I was advised and assisted in getting medical treatment which made things so much easier as I had no idea where to turn for help. The hotel is situated in the perfect location to be away from the busyness of Reykjavik but only a short walk from where it's going on. My room looked out to the water and mountains and was a stunning view to wake up to each morning. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough, it deserves way more than 5*. A huge thank you to everyone!

Hotel's Favorite
Excellent breakfast with plenty of everything, tasty and great service. You pay for it separately from the room charges but, I think, it is a fair price and the available options, sweet and savory, will cater for everyone. The room was very clean, good space and great decoration. The shower/bathroom also very clean and modern. The views were quite good for a city hotel, with Mt Esja visible in the background. Not bad! The double bed was comfortable and good size for 2 adults and a 2yr old. I will definitely recommend and come back if I’m in the city.

Great hotel, superb location, beautiful interior. Room very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff indifferent which was a shame. Costs nothing to wish you a good day or welcome you back after a day out. Very little volunteered, even option of travel back to airport was scant. If they engaged more it would add to the eclectic vibe of a cool hotel.

Spend 2 nights in this hotel. Friendly people at the frontdesk as well as with the breakfast. The hotel has a nice ambiance, not a typical business like hotel. Clean room with a great bed! Breakfast offers lots of choices, including some local dishes. Walking distance from the city centre, takes about 15 minutes. A nice walk!

What can I say such a comfortable beautiful hotel. All the staff are really helpful and friendly . Hot drinks offered all day free of charge , something for everyone on the breakfast buffet and a limited evening meal but this does encourage you to go out and explore the area and eat local cuisine not that the evening cuisine was bad this was not the case . Lastly we had a fantastic view from our room and had lovely products in the bathroom and so cosy

We were expecting more from this hotel looking at the reviews and rating. It has dissapointed us. The room was quite simple and outdated. Bedroom and bathroom requires improvements and updating. It did not look nor felt like a 4 stars hotel room at all. There was mould in the shower. No fridge/bar in the room, old furniture, wooden old floor, very dark room. It definitely needs improvements to make it more comfortable. The hotel is overpriced for what it has to offer. Breakfast was very simple and cold. The good things were that the staff was very friendly and helpful. And there was always space for parking.

We stayed at Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel in the heart of Reykjavik, great location to central Reykjavik, everything is very close by, parking is free at the property if you do hire a car. Breakfast was included with our room we found this out once we arrived. Rooms are very spacious and perfect for a couple getaway, very clean and staff are very helpful and friendly.

We had a really pleasant stay here for 4 nights. The hotel is located in a good location a couple of streets away from the lively downtown. There was a nice chilled vibe from the hotel and the staff were all friendly. The room was warm and comfortable, with no issues on noise. If I had to give any minor negatives, the breakfast is quite pricey for what you get. Also the bathroom doors are frosted so quite transparent and don't give a lot of privacy. OK for us, but some people sharing may feel a little exposed. All in all the positives vastly outweigh the negatives and I would definitely recommend staying here. Free tea & coffee too. Who can complain at that!!

We stayed for 4 nights in a superior double room. Check in was quick and easy and we always found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. We found the room to be really comfortable and cosy. It was a nice size with a double bed, wardrobe, desk and chair. The bed was comfy with a mattress topper and fluffy pillows. The bathroom had a shower with decent water pressure and god temperature. There were also complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer which was really handy. There is free parking at the hotel and we never had an issue getting a space. The hotel is located only a 5/10 minute walk from the main street in downtown Reykjavik where there is a large selection of bars and restaurants. A very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.
