Richard and Fed's wedding was wonderfully catered for. The rooms are quirky and comfy, food was exquisite, and staff really friendly. Not cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for! The amount of detail that has gone into the decoration and themes is truly amazing.

I have just spent sometime reading other negative reviews on this hotel. My advice would be read these before you book,as having stayed at this hotel (for no small fee might I add) you will get a very true reflection of what you will get.The saying you get what you pay for sadly doesn't count here.I certainly wish I had taken the time to read these. You will also see all the replies to dissatisfied customers are the same generic responses, which go way back and as far as I can see no attempt as ever being made to rectify any of the problems. The website mentions 11acres of gardens ? we only managed to find muddy fields with rubbish and rusted discarded machinery and an old caravan. It also says its being refurbished from top to bottom, well I have already left a review of my stay along with photos of our room so you be the judge.I have updated my last review as going back to the website i find it a little misleading (I don't see the condition of our room featured on the website)and wished I had researched further.

We booked a four night stay with a special offer. We don’t usually stay in hotels with our dog but as Widbrook advertises itself as very dog friendly we thought why not! A beautiful small Manor House set in huge grounds. Our room was in the converted piggeries so ideal for a dog guest. Enormous comfortable bed, warm, good bathroom. We ate in the conservatory and found the breakfasts excellent. Freshly cooked, ample choice. Sausage for the dog! We had dinner one night which was good if a little pricey and quite limited choice. However within a 5-10 mins drive there are plenty of good village pubs. Recommend the Seven Stars in Wisley. Also the pizzas from Amici just up the road in Bradford-on-Avon. Staff at Widbrook are helpful and friendly and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and cosy. All in all a lovely stay. Highly recommended.

Room shabby missing the chic. We had a upgrade to junior suite, unfortunately I have stayed in better standard rooms than this supposed suite. The room was very dark the lighting in the room is terrible, the carpet was dirty and had a big tear in it,the sofa in the room was badly soiled and the furnishings are just old and shabby to match the rest of the decor. The windows had mould on the walls as did the blinds at the windows. The bed and linen were good quality and comfy and a better standard than the rest of the room. The hospitality tray was of poor quality I would have expected fresh milk and a lot better choice not sachets of nescafe ,sugar and sterilised milk in little cartons. The grounds around the rooms looked very unkept and not appealing. The swimming pool was also a disappointment and the water was cold so only used once.We had booked a table to eat on both nights,we were seated in the conservatory as we had a dog with us and had booked for 730.We were the only people in there.Eventually the waitress came to us at 815,I pointed out that we had booked for and arrived at 730 the reply was sorry but the restaurant was really busy.So it felt like you are left and treated as an after thought if you are in the conservatory, even though you are paying the same very expensive prices not including the 10% service charge. Our experience of dinner that night was sadly disappointing to say the least so we cancelled for the following evening.I have added photos of the menu as the prices are considerably higher than the ones on the website. All in all a great disappointment for the price we paid and room nothing like the website photos.would like to add the gentleman member of staff from Romania who checked us in was very pleasant and an asset to this establishment.

Lovely room and we slept well. Great food and loved trying the variety. of gins in the rustic bar. Only disappointment was the pool - old and not enjoyable at all, needs refurbishing. Overall it's a pricey stay would stay again if there were offers available

Reading all the hype on TA we thought we would give Widbrook a try. Our room was quite small and the furniture far from antique, more old and shabby, nowhere to put your suitcase. We tried the pool but was freezing, apparently a maintenance issue. The food is good but very expensive, plus a 10% service charge is added, the menu includes a burger so not exactly stylish dining. There is a small Gin Bar which is cute, you can get a beer but being bottled (no draught) you need two for a pint so works out to around £10 a pint. Staff friendly, which you would expect. Smallish grounds to have stroll around. Bradford-on-Avon is close by though mostly charity shops and tea rooms. Our stay at Widbrook reminded me of a Residential Care Home.

I booked a one night dinner, bed and breakfast deal at this hotel with a friend to celebrate my 70th birthday through Country Hotel Breaks. We each booked a separate room, paying the full rate for double occupancy. The deal specified a £50 dinner allowance per couple. When I looked at the dinner menu we found to our alarm that the restauarant prices had increased dramatically since we originally chose the hotel and that every main course was now more than £25, so after adding a starter, vegetables, pudding and wine the cost of dinner would far exceed the allowance and what we could afford. I pointed this out to the hotel and asked if they offered a table d'hote set menu but was told the menu was only a la carte. Whenever I have booked a deal through Country Hotel Breaks the dinner allowance offered has always more or less covered the cost of a three course dinner without drinks. However, they told us that we should be given a £50 dinner allowance each as we were occupying two rooms which would normally have been occupied by two couples. Indeed, the hotel were quids in as they would normally have been providing four dinners and four breakfasts for the two rooms. Despite this and knowing that I was celebrating a milestone birthday, the Hotel insisted that it had been our choice to occupy two rooms and it would only offer us the £25 each allowance. Needless to say, we cancelled.

The Hotel is very beautiful and very Qwerky, this made the experience more fun and enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and very efficient. We stayed in the main house and the room was lovely and comfortable. The food is amazing and the breakfast too. We will be going back to the hotel as it is close to Bath and our youngest fledgling house.

Sunday 28th January 2024, we arrived at ‘Widbrook Grange’ Hotel around 5.00pm. We were greeted by a very nice gentlemen called Johnny and were given a very warm welcome; we were given the keys to our Room No 18. Our room was situated in the courtyard rooms, which had been converted from the old stables. These were ground floor rooms surrounding the manor house. Room No 18, was a huge room with a sitting room area, which overlooked the gardens outside. The bedroom was very rustic and quirky, it had bedside lamps made from cobbler’s shoes and bedside tables made from milk churns, and had a riding hat and saddles on the wall along with pictures of horses and countryside scenes. The room was lovely and warm and very cosy on this cold January day. The sitting room area was large and spacious. We had a two seater grey sofa with grey velvet cushions and a beverage area with a side table containing: a kettle, bottled still & sparkling water, a selection of drinks which included fruit teas, tea, and coffee and hot chocolate and complimentary biscuits. The furnishings were of a metal and wood design in keeping with the ‘quirky décor’ of the building. The bedroom was of enormous size and the décor was done out in a light creamy grey which complimented the stone brickwork in the room. We had a large Emperor Size bed with white cotton sheets and duvet and grey velvet cushions and a grey bed coverlet. It had a feature headboard behind the bed made of coffee sacks, which was really quirky. We had a huge bathroom with a large bath and a separate tiled en-suite walk in wet room shower with a ‘rain drench’ feature and had lots of lovely hot water, soft fluffy towels (1st Hotel to have large towels for us voluptuous ladies) and complimentary toiletries. It was completely done out in white with silver ‘Modern’ style bathroom fittings. My husband and I unpacked and settled in. We rested on the sofa for an hour and then we dressed for dinner. My husband and I then strolled across the courtyard to the main hotel and went into ‘The Widbrook Restaurant’. The restaurant was lovely, light and airy and we were seated at a nice table for two. The table had lovely silver cutlery and bright shiny glassware and a lighted candle, which gave a romantic feel to our meal. A lovely waitress called Bianca waited on us all evening. Bianca had a really nice personality and nothing was too much for her and she was very professional in all that she did for us. Bianca brought us the menus for us to peruse. The menu although small was full of interesting dishes for the diner to indulge in, all of the dishes we found wonderful. We did not bother with starters as we were saving ourselves for the main course and dessert. My husband and I for our main course had the pan fried hake fillet risotto with fresh white crab meat and a lemon balm. We also had a side dish of roasted new potatoes with parsley butter and capers. The fish was sublime. We washed all this lovely food down with chilled bottle of ‘Wynn’ Chardonnay white wine, which was the perfect accompaniment to the fish. We both had desserts; my husband for his dessert had the sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and served with vanilla ice cream, which he said, was delicious. I had the chocolate orange tart served with raspberries and hazelnut ice cream. It was a sweet to live for and it was so nice it took me ages to finish it, it was absolutely delicious, nice and light and the perfect finish to my meal. After dinner we both went into the lounge where I had a ‘Tarquin’s’ Blood Orange gin and tonic with ice and my husband had a double Penderyn ‘Madeira’ finish single malt whisky, which completed this perfect meal. Afterwards, we strolled back to our room, where I read my book ‘Manner Of Death’ by Robin Cook for an hour then we snuggled up in our huge bed like a pair of sleepy kittens and went fast asleep; we both had a good night’s sleep as the bed was so comfortable. Monday 29th January 2024 – My husband and I awoke to a lovely cold, crisp but sunny day. We then showered and dressed and went across the courtyard to breakfast. My husband had the full English breakfast, and I had smashed avocado with poached eggs on toast, which set us up for the day. We ate in the restaurant on two other evenings and the food was just as excellent as our first evening. We had Fillet of Beef, Rump of Lamb, The Widbrook Burger and desserts of Chocolate Mouse Dome, Ice Cream and The Cheeseboard, the service with excellent as well. One day we arrived back and I decided to go swimming, as Widbrook Grange has a fitness centre in one of the outside stone buildings containing a swimming pool and an upstairs gym and fitness area. My husband said he did not fancy swimming but he would come along and sit in one of the loungers whilst I went into the water. I went into the well appointed changing rooms with lockers to keep my clothes and toiletries in and changed into my swimsuit. I came out into the indoor heated swimming pool area; the décor was light and spacious with soft mellow lighting and a lovely large pool with steps leading down into the warm water. My husband took some photos of me and the pool. I then went swimming in the pool. my husband rested on one of the loungers whilst I swam. I managed to do 20 lengths before my muscles decided enough was enough, not bad for not having been in a swimming pool since August last year. We had a wonderful three night stay here - Thanks To All The Staff Who Made My Husband's Birthday Break So Special

We had an amazing 2 night stay from start to finish. The hotel, its rooms and facilities are charming and very thoughtfully decorated. We stayed in a junior suite which was massive and tastefully decorated. The bed was so comfortable. We booked a package which included dinner credit on the first night. The food was exceptional. And breakfast each morning was delicious and made with locally sourced ingredients. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Particular thanks to the lady serving breakfast who was working incredibly hard to make sure everyone was served as quickly as possible. Fab location - Bradford-On-Avon is a 20 minute walk away. We also went into Bath using the bus. I'd highly recommend Widbrook Grange for a short break in the countryside
