Perfect place to experience a night underground. Close to town and easy parking. Can also sit and watch the sunset from out the front. Kitchen facilities also available with microwave and stove top. Access to crockery and milk. Bed was a bit soft but fine for one night.

We stayed for one night and found everything about our stay here perfect. From helpful check in, to the provisions in the room, it’s one of the cleanest motels we’ve found. Funky and comfortable, we would have no hesitation to highly recommend staying here.

OK this is not a HOTEL..it is a motel. That said, what an experience. It is part of a dug out...meaning they were looking for opals in the side of a hill. The rooms all have kitchenettes. Mine had a great share outdoor area with the next room. They have AC but it can be a challenge to get it regulated. You are underground. My only negative is it isn't a close walk to anywhere. If you have a car - NO problem at all. Plenty of parking. Oh and the onsite managing couple is SUPER. They are the reason to be there!!

One roll of toilet paper, hot water ran out after 3 showers, front door looked like it had been kicked in, wifi did not cope with visitation numbers. A lot of money for a hole in the ground. That and you had to wash all the crockery, dry it and put it away to avoid a $30 fee.

Lovely place with good decor and use of space. Walls have been sealed so no dust for those who might have allergies. Access to a kitchen is a bonus for those who need it. Bed comfy and the shower was a nice treat at the end of the day coming off the Oodnadatta track

Stopped here for 1 night and experience. It is just out of town so good location. Friendly staff. Although there is a fan in the room I would say it needs air con. It is a unique experience and would recommend John pizza for a snack. Reasonable price

Finally got to tick off a bucket-list item by staying at a Cobber Pedy underground motel - very pleased with our choice. First impression of its stunning entrance was wow! an opulent reflection of the colourful vibe associated with this iconic mining town. Super impressive panoramic view from the front porch. Our room was truly spacious and the ensuite totally adequate for our needs. Did not miss windows at all! No fridge was not a problem as we had our own battery-powered car-fridge. There's also a well appointed and very clean separate kitchen for guests' use which was handy for breakfasts and gave us an opportunity to chat with fellow travellers. Always amazed by the interesting people you meet on the road. Be forewarned that mobile reception and/or wi-fi may require a step outside at times. We had under-cover car-parking during our stay. Whilst a bit of a distance from the town centre, nothing is very far in Coober Pedy. Do not miss driving out to The Breakaways; or visiting the Serbian Orthodox Church; or having a meal (ribs to die for) at the Big Winch 360.

Stayed here for two nights and we had the budget room which was small but had all the amenities. The shared kitchen provided all the necessities with a spacious frige, cooktop, oven and cutlery and crockery. Great shower, cosy room. The only thing we missed was another chair in the room but you could also sit in the shared hallway which was breezy and had easy chairs just outside the room.

A unique experience that you have to try , although it may be a bit claustrophobic for some , but I didn’t find it as plenty of natural light . Has all the facilities you would expect in the room and considering it’s a long way to Coober Pedy, the owners do a good job .

One of the only few places that could accommodate our family of 5. I was a little nervous to be ‘underground’ but it was fantastic, with a window at the front and an outdoor covered area where we sat to eat our meals. Great BBQ area at main office, which also offers outstanding views. Neat, toddy and very comfortable!
