This is a small hotel in a lovely, small village. We stayed here on Saturday night as we were attending a wedding a few hundred metres along the road. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with some very heavy and prolonged rain that caused lots of flooding. When we arrived, the owner offered to drive us to the wedding venue, which was brilliant, because we would have got very wet walking through flood water. She also brought us tea and wonderful shortbreads. Our room was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was superb as well.

This small hotel is a little off the usual tourist Perthshire beaten track, but well worth the detour. We visited after a matinee at Pitlochry theatre. Rooms and pubic areas were clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the staff were helpful and courteous. The hostess was friendly and charming without being intrusive -- sometimes a difficult balance to get right! After our stay she went beyond the call of duty in arranging to return some property we had foolishly left behind. We plan to return.

Superb country hotel, housed in a lovely old building, tastefully restored, offering splendid views, delightful sitting room and library, warm welcome and atmosphere, personable and impeccable service and delicious breakfasts and dinners, plus many delightful touches including roaring fires in sitting and dining rooms and complimentary dram and shortbread by bedside every night. Presided over with charm and grace by the ‘nothing-too-much-trouble’ owner, Mags. We’ve stayed in many fine houses and palaces around the world over the decades, but Fortingall Hotel is special. Bravi.

We stayed here in the third week of April. All of that week was gloriously sunny and Glen Lyon looked absolutely splendid. The hotel has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and Gabriel the manager did everything to make us feel at home. We had the spacious “Glen Lyon” room with view out over the village in the direction of the Glen. A long-planned family celebration dinner in the hotel’s restaurant was a big success. All of us found something to our taste in the varied menu. Every dish was beautifully prepared and we had an excellent evening. Being a Saturday, the restaurant was almost full but the service was faultless. Breakfast each morning was a delight. The fruits at the buffet were amazingly fresh and the cooked breakfast was a real feast - the Orkney black pudding a particular delicacy. Everything was straight from kitchen to table – fresh and piping hot. Highly recommended!

Me and my family had a beautiful experience at the cosy bar of the hotel. Then we moved onto the restaurant. Gabriel the manager of the hotel made us feel totally at home. Great service and extremely professional and polite. The food was outstanding as was the whole experience. A must visit if you pass by this beautiful Perthshire countryside!

Our one night stay at the historic Fortingall Hotel was simply not long enough but all that our travel plan permitted. Our rooms were lovely and comfortable. The hotel is clean and traditionally decorated in beautiful style. Lovely setting in the wee village of Fortingall, charming thatched roofed homes, the ancient yew, and historic church beside it. Beyond a doubt, the manager Gabriel may arguably be the most hospitipal and efficient hotel manager we have ever met~superb. Thank you for your concern and assistance as we walked the Innerwick to Kinloch Rannoch route.

This is an excellent place to stay in a beautiful location. The rooms are clean and warm and comfortable, and breakfast is delicious. They have a lovely friendly bar as well as other rooms where you can sit in front of a roaring firs with a nip of whisky - perfect after a rainy autumn day. The manager - Gabriel - really goes the extra mile to be welcoming and helpful - many thanks!

Spent 2 nights here in Glenlyon room. My husband and I had the most comfortable and memorable stay ever. Gabriel and the staff looked after our every need, advising on walks attractions and routes. Restaurant was closed and having had dinner at this hotel before we were a little disappointed but it turned out well as we were taken to nearby restaurants and picked up, even bumped into a friend at one. Breakfast was absolutely the best the service and choice excellent. Really enjoyed the music in the bar and next night enjoyed sitting by the fire in the library till very late sipping whiskey browsing the many interesting books. The hotel was cosy beautifully decorated traditional antiques and artwork. So many highland hotels are being stripped of character and the Scandinavian modern look replacing old charm. This is my new favourite place in Scotland. Had a lovely walk to Peters Pool it was a sunny warm day and 3 people were taking a dip. I will bring my swimsuit next time. Comfortable bed a wonderful peaceful nights sleep.

We stayed three weeks in Scotland and the Fortingall Hotel was by far the best. Gabriel was an excellent host, treating us to a cozy fire with tea and a dram of whisky. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The setting was beautiful and quiet. When the restaurant was not available at the hotel, Gabriel made sure that we had reservations at nearby place, which also turned out to be excellent. Highly recommended.

This small hotel is simply superb and beautifully run. Located in a tiny quaint village it is special . The host Gabriel is one of the most accomplished managers we’ve seen in our travels. We were warmly greeted and shown to our lovely well appointed room . There are several shared rooms for guest use which are superb too . Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t able to open due to staff shortages but the manager made alternate arrangements at a nearby restaurant , to which he drive and collected us . After we visited the small bar at the hotel which was full of life and local musicians - a special treat ! Breakfast was superb . Beautiful salmon and scrambled eggs. We couldn’t fault our stay . A wonderful hotel superbly managed .
