Thank you very much for your question. As your case, Receptionist at our sister hotel -Victoria Chau Doc can call a taxi for you if you would like to check in early. The price of taxi 4 seats is about 100,000VND/way (the price displaying on taxi machine + 30,000VND surcharge for going up the mountain) and the price of taxi 7seats is about 130,000VND/way. However, If you would not like to check in early at Victoria Nui Sam Lodge, you can leave your luggage at reception of our sister hotel and then you can visit Chau Doc market by yourseft. It takes only 8 minutes to walk to the market. After visiting, you will be back the hotel before 1:30pm so that you can take our shuttle bus at 1:30pm to Victoria Nui Sam Lodge.
We hope those information are usefull for you!
There are public bus, taxi, or hotel private car service with the same route and travelling time (about 6 hours).
For public bus, we recommend popular ones such as FUTA (Phuong Trang Company), Hung Cuong, ticket price about $7
Taxi price about $150/taxi/one way
For Victoria Nui Sam Lodge hotel service, private car about $200/car/one way.
If you choose public bus, please ask their shuttle transfer service to take you to Victoria Chau Doc hotel (Victoria Nui Sam Lodge's sister hotel in city center), then from here you can catch the hotel shuttle bus to go to Victoria Nui Sam Lodge (20-minute trip) with the following fixed schedule:
Moring: 8:10 am
Afternoon: 13:30; 15:00; 17:30; 21:30
Kindly send your request to our reservation email firstname.lastname@example.org for official price and booking for both hotel private car and hotel shuttle bus.
Hope the above will help.

I agree about the short stay not doing the place justice as it is a drive out of town. Can you stay 2 nights, so you get one full day there? The extra night would be worth it as it is a beautiful spot. That "speedboat" to Phnom Penh is a long trip, about 5 hours. We ate at the restaurant on the pier just prior to departing Phnom Penh on speedboat for Cau Doc and would recommend this place. We had a set menu. Enjoy your trip!
