We loved our weekend visiting and staying The Roaring River Vineyard. Where we stayed was great and had lovely views of the river just outside the back door. The food at the restaurant was very yummy and everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a fun weekend, and got to enjoy Stone Mountain and a lot of relaxing with some wine. We enjoyed the bocce ball court at the Vineyard. The owners are very friendly and we really enjoyed getting to tour the vineyard. We hope we can get back sooner than later! Highly recommend.

We are so grateful to Josephine and her husband for a much needed getaway at this beautiful place. The wine tasting and restaurant were delightful along with their staff. We enjoyed a bottle of their 2015 Chambourcin with dinner and their Chardonnay with lunch was wonderful too. The grounds and views are so beautiful . Our overnight stay hear was wonderful in every way, sparkling clean room with all the amenities you could possibly need and such gracious hosts that made us feel like family. Listening to the water flowing from our deck was so relaxing and healing . We will always remember this special time and hope to return again.

The "lady" that owns these cabins and venue is rude and arrogant. She will ruin your trip there and your visit to the vineyard. IF you get lucky enough to never meet her, Josephine, then you MAY have a good time... Good luck if you choose to deal with her!

What a treasure. Found Vineyard on website. Sat out on porch overlooking river. Wonderful sounds. Doug guided us through our wine tasting. Very relaxing but informative. We ordered the roast beef and Swiss panini. Delicious! Tom, the owner took us on a tour of the property. Beautifully decorated rooms overlooking the river. Great venue. Can’t wait to go back with my husband.

Thank you for your lovely review. We have a great staff. Doug has been with us since we opened and when I thought of someone to man the wine tasting bar I could only think of him and he has been perfect for the job. My husband, Tom, loves to give tours and the guests really love it.I, Josephine owner and Tom's wife, oversaw the construction of the buildings and had fun decorating all the units, the restaurant, etc. while Tom was still working until he retired almost 2 years ago. Our chef, Rob, does a terrific job in the kitchen and has a lot of experience having worked in fine restaurants the last 30 years or so. We are pleased that you enjoyed your visit. It is guests like yourself that makes owning this place enjoyable. We look forward to your return visit.

Beautiful running river just outside the back porch/es. Tasted 3 whites and 3 reds, all available @ $24.00/bottle. The 7th dessert liqueur was the favorite. Lunch featured a variety of paninis (ham/cheese, roast beef/swiss, apple/brie). Try any of the three with a side of cold pasta and/or potato salad. The proprietors story behind this vacation rental, vineyard development alone is worth the price of admission. Just go to get away and make new friends!

I honestly cannot appropriately describe how pleasurable this recent four night stay at RRV was for me and my wife. RRV and the Lodgings and are in breathtaking setting and the owners, Tom and Josephine, go beyond the call of duty in all efforts to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. The accommodations, the food at the attached restaurant, the wine, and service are all top shelf. This is now at the top of our travel plans for a return visit. Thank you, Tom and Josephine, for making this resort with its associated pleasantries available.

I have not had the pleasure to stay in the cabins at Roaring River Vineyards; however, I hear they are excellent. We recently had the pleasure of eating at the restaurant known as Chez Josephine. The bar manager, Doug, was just a hoot. The food was spectacular and I hear they are upgrading their kitchen to a full-service kitchen. The chef they hired is young but he has loads of experience from being a sushi chef for two years to traveling around Europe for six months to hone his craft. Based on the food we had while there, the new menu will be spectacular. Doug told us the restaurant will re-open in the early Fall. Please support this business, you will not be disappointed.

I am reviewing the wine tasting and atmosphere as we didn't stay in the cabins. Tom & Josephine (owners) are very nice and gave us the complete history of their location. They have a beautiful place and the stream running by it makes for a very unique setting. The place is just awesome and they offer food as well, they even have picnic tables on the water which is excellent. The wines are very good and the unique thing about their wines are that they are not blends, each wine is from one specific grape. Doug (server) does an excellent job explaining each wine and has a great sense of humor, we had a great time with him. They also have a selection of craft beers as well which is pretty cool. We give these guys 5 stars and will definitely be back to check out their cabins next time !!

My wife Amy and I spent 4 nights/5 days the first of August 2017 at this beautiful venue nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Tom and Josephine were the perfect host, showing us around the property, spending time with us, and giving us some history about the area. The accommodations were near perfect and the property is absolutely beautiful. This is a place you have to see for yourself. It is quiet, beautiful, shady, cool, peaceful, everything we needed for a short getaway. I am a saltwater fishing guide on the coast and I still had to get in that river and do a little fishing. Amy is a teacher and this was a nice ending to her summer before she goes back to school. The sound of the Roaring River was so refreshing and I spent at least a couple of hours a day wading in the river and fishing for small mouth bass and rainbow trout. It was August and I knew the fishing would be tough. I still caught my first rainbow trout and several smallmouth bass. Amy sat along the river, reading, and just relaxing. We went hiking on nearby Stone Mountain and went to the cool little town of West Jefferson. We were going to take the short drive to Blowing Rock for a day but we wanted to just stay on the property and relax. We brought our groceries in from the Shiloh, a Amish store in nearby Hamptonville. We had a couple meals at the restaurant on the property, and had lunch at Boondocks in West Jefferson. The weather was perfect, cool in the mornings, lots of shade, and much cooler than the coast where we live for this time of year. The restaurant, tasting room, gathering room, and our cabin were decorated beautifully. Tom and Josephine had apparently put in a lot of hard work, time and money to make this venue so nice. Can't wait to get back. Jeff and Amy Wolfe Wilmington, NC

It is always a better endorsement when it comes from a guest that has stayed with us and had a wonderful time. Thanks again. We enjoyed meeting both of you and for Amy to show me how to play the game you both were playing before you went back to fish some more!. Hope to see you in the not too distant future. Jsoephine
