The beds are terrible. Platform beds do not need a box spring, unless the point is to bash your knee on it constantly. The mattress are old, hard and springy- very uncomfortable. They started vacuuming at 9:00 a.m.on a Saturday! Inconsiderate for guests that arrived late. Rooms should be updated, no fridge or microwave. Not worth $200 a night. I’ve stayed at nicer super 8’s

Absolutely beautiful and charming hotel. We loved the entry and our room was nice. Breakfast felt like the way hotels use to be. It was a quick stay, but I hope to be back!the area was beautiful. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. It was nice to be able to walk to several attractions and dinner.

Although the public rooms are charming, this property has a few shortcomings that prevent a high rating. The beds are very high, almost requiring a jump to get into them. There are no room safe, no laundry bags, and no housekeeping during the stay. One of the people at the front desk had a snippy attitude. The breakfast is basic, with hard scrambled eggs and no pastries. On the other hand, the rooms are clean and the location is excellent, right near the Art Museum, Case Western Reserve, and the Botanic Garden.

Dear rdnyc52, Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear that you found the Glidden House to be charming and clean. We are working very hard to get our service levels back to what they were pre-covid. We are very close to cleaning all rooms daily. As of now, we are happy to clean any room with a request. Just last week we brought back the full complimentary breakfast that we have been known for. I hope that you will come back to try it! I do apologize for the team member you encountered at the front desk. This will no longer be an issue. We truly hope you will come back for a visit to see these improvements.

Large Victorian inn. Well appointed. Clean, conveniently located for Case Western. Staff is well trained. Adequate outdoor parking. WiFi was awful. Extra high bed was too soft, pillows were very flat, and the room was a bit stuffy. Oldish bathroom could use a renovation.

We've stayed at Glidden House before, and it's a nice place. Today, however, planning a return visit, we went to the Glidden House website and made a reservation. When the confirmation came via email, we found that fully $100 in taxes and fees had been added to the room charge. We'd expected a bed tax and perhaps other taxes, but not $100 added for a room for which the charge was $160! We called Glidden House directly and were told that, although one can make a reservation directly with them, the website directs the patron to reservations.com -- WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE PERSON MAKING THE RESERVATION. Reservations.com then makes the reservation and adds the exorbitant fees. We canceled the reservations.com reservation and re-booked directly with Glidden House. This lowered

This trip to Cleveland was last minute. My husband and I were looking for some place just to rest. We choose the Glidden House because it’s a boutique. According to the pictures and reviews my expectation was high! It went from a 5 to a 3 when we went to our room. Linda was really nice in helping my husband to get another room. I didn’t realize the difference in room space between the king and the queen. Because we were able to change rooms I decided to change my rating to a 4. Hospitality is rated 5 for the staff at the front desk, James, housekeeping and the woman at breakfast. I should’ve gotten her name. Location rated 5. As others have mentioned it’s in walking distance of places to eat and museums. Busy area because of the college but quiet. The noise came in the mornings

Dear Mrjonesii, Thank you for taking the time to communicate your views regarding your stay at the Glidden House. I am happy to hear that you appreciated the hospitality of our staff. I was pleased to hear that Linda found you a room more to your liking. We are working very hard to find a full compliment of breakfast staff and once we do, we will bring back our pre-covid complimentary breakfast buffet. We are just a couple items away. I hope that you will visit again to try it!

Just a warning to other hotel stayers that I confirmed my reservation 2 nights ago but we showed up today and I had lost my room because LBJ and Klutch sports has taken my room. Don’t stay here. They don’t care about their guests, just money

We had an extended stay at the Glidden House due to a procedure at Cleveland Clinic. It could not have been better. From the moment we walked in, the place was warm and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and catered to our every request. We were on the 2nd floor which had a convenient microwave and ice machine. The room was spacious and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. For someone with a tricky back, it was such a relief. there were great restaurants within walking distance and short driving distances. We enjoy Maxi's Bistro and Presti's Bakery in Little Italy. The Botanical Gardens and Musuem of Art are right across the street. Morning breakfast had many offerings from eggs and sausage to yogurt and toast and the fruit was always fresh. The area suffered a

The first time I stayed at Glidden House was last summer when my boyfriend had a procedure at Cleveland Clinic. We really enjoyed our stay. Then he was in ICU recently and I wanted to stay in a safe, familiar place so I booked a room again. The ambiance of this place is lovely. The staff so friendly and helpful. It's clean and comfortable. Truly the only complaint is that I wish the toilet paper was a better grade. Their breakfast is palatable and anytime I am in Cleveland for the clinic, this is the place I would stay. Tony the bartender and Clint the front desk clerk are outstanding. And they give a military/AARP discount.

This is a overrated and over priced two star place, probably not ever a two star. 1. Pictures are highly deceptive. Our room did NOT look like what’s in the picture at all. It’s super small and everything is extremely outdated, missing pieces on furniture, falling wallpaper. The bathroom is DISGUSTING. I wonder if they ever cleaned it, the shower curtain has a strong odder that lingers. Bathtub drain is clogged pretty bad too, I had to stop the water every 2-3 minutes while I was in there so that the water could have a chance to go down. 2. The wall is paper thin, you can hear everything from your neighbor and people on the hallway very clearly. 3. The AC unit in the room is the loudest I have ever seen, like a plane taking off! It’s impossible to sleep with it on at
