Roundstone House hotel is a small family run Boutique hotel in the heart of Roundstone Village, Connemara on the Wild Atlantic view Route, one of Irelands most beautiful & rustic regions. The hotel is surrounded by spectacular views of Roundstone Bay, with the back drop of the majestic twelve bens Mountain range. The hotel is perfectly suited to welcome all ages. We charm our guests with excellent freshly cooked food, seafood being our speciality.
This is a gorgeous family run hotel with fabulous scenery. We had a lovely room overlooking the bay . The food in the restaurant is exceptional, it's closed on Mon & Tues so I recommend booking in advance at peak season. The bar is also very good and more casual. We come to Roundstone for it's beauty, walks, swims and stay Roundstone House for it's food & service.

The owners are welcoming and the quality-price unbeatable! We made a last-minute reservation and got a room with the view on the sea. The window let no noise in, but the door is rather thin and the floor carpet is actually laid over a parquet that squeaks occasionnally. The bed was correct, the plumbing in the bathroom quite new. The breakfast offers a large range of options; the pub proposes bar food until 7 pm, then the restaurant has a fine menu starting at 7.30 (booking advised).

Everything about our experience exceeded my high expectations! Great hotel in the center of the village. The rooms were larger than I expected. The view from our room was so nice. The breakfasts were abundant and delicious! Bring a big appetite. The traditional Irish breakfast was excellent! The service from everyone, especially the manager was warm, friendly and helpful. We descended on the property for a big family reunion (42 of us) and they managed us well. Dinner at Vaughan’s was excellent too. Great seafood. We will definitely be back.

Enjoyable 4-night stay at end of May, had benefit of incredible weather, with 2nd fl BR overlooking glistening bay and green hills in distance. Given reasonable rate, hotel is somewhat no frills, but hard product is good (comfy bed/pillows/linens/ironed sheets), but what makes experience exceptional is central location, food options, decent pint, and the genuine friendly welcome of the staff, particularly Diarmuid and Cynthia, the hard-working owners (now third generation). Look forward to returning!

We spend a week in the west of Ireland each year and Vaughan's Bar at the Roundstone House Hotel is a place we always visit for food. It's just a basic bar with simple wooden benches, wooden tables and basic covering on the floor. We usually found the staff very friendly. This time we had a little rescue dog with us - a very small Chihuahua, which my wife was carrying in her arms and was likely to remain there throughout the visit. On entering the bar we were told quite forcefully "NO DOGS ALLOWED" by an unpleasant man behind the bar. As we were only calling in for a quick lunch we put the dog back in the car and returned to the bar and ordered food which was, as usual, served quickly and was very good. No further mention was made about the dog and no apology was offered for the unpleasant manner we had experienced earlier. Some casual chat was offered but as we were still unhappy about the earlier reaction we declined to interact. It was, as stated above, just the basic bar area - not the restaurant. Although staying in the area for a week, we did not go back, so they lost out on our further business as we would usually eat here 3-4 times whilst in the area. We eat at different establishments for the rest of the week and the little dog was allowed in - and was made a fuss of by many staff, who appeared grateful for our business. We will not be going back to Vaughan's as we wouldn't want our little dog to cause any major upset in the bar - basic though it is!…

Margaret & I just spent 3 wonderful days/Nights in this lovely small hotel. Run by a wonderful family who could not do enough for you. Excellent bar and superb sea food restaurant . We had dinner there for 2 if 3 nights and some of the best sea-food ever. Delightfully fresh and lightly cooked. Could not recommend it highly enough and look forward to our next visit. We also had some great swims in Gurteen Bay and some wonderful cycles with bikes hired in Clifden.

This is such a great hotel and it's my 2nd time staying here. As soon as you walk into the reception you're greeted with really friendly and helpful staff. They always have a smile on their face. There's a lovely restaurant and bar underneath and it's right in the centre of Roundstone. The room was spotless and had everything we needed.
