Not a 10/10. We are in a room with a sea view. There are NO toiletries provided. Given the price I am really surprised. Not even a sanitary bag !!!. The air con is very noisy. May have to change rooms. In the hotel description online there is NO mention of the “terrain”. It is steep, lots of stairs, built on the side of a cliff. The staff are nice though. Breakfast: very ordinary @ repetitive and you pay extra 4 toast with your eggs !!! Plus help yourself to coffee/ tea. That’s not A La Carte. Over 4kms from central Amed so if u don’t ride a bike you are rather trapped here. Wouldn’t stay more than 3-4 days as it would be “same same”. Be wary if you can’t climb steep inclines or stairs.

Everything went great! They arranged transportation from the airport. It was like a mini tour getting to the resort. All the staff were super friendly and would help with anything. Excellent snorkeling right from hotel. 2 pools. Amazing breakfast- the fruit juices always so good. They clean the rooms very quickly and will meet any needs you have. Their restaurant is good - calamari yummy! Other restaurants you can walk too- good choices on the beach and roadside warungs. Quiet, amazing views- stay here to enjoy and relax.

We had such a wonderful stay here, beautiful rooms with sea views and two perfect swimming pools. We had dinner in their excellent restaurant almost every night. The food and service was great. Lovely staff! Bali Reef Divers attached to the resort were just the best. Our boys did their open water qualification and we enjoyed some beautiful diving with their knowledgeable and friendly dive guides!

We stayed at Puri Wirata in March 2023 after about three weeks diving in Raja Ampat. We were at Puri Warita for one week. We had booked the stay, including four days of diving and two excursions through our travel agents, Anne and Scott with Blue Water Dive Travel (who did a great job). The location is great. The hotel is on the ocean and the views are gorgeous. There are two oceanfront infinity pools, an elevated open air restaurant looking out over the water and numerous places to lounge outside, including plenty of shade if desired. The hotel is upscale but showed a bit of wear and tear. We stayed in a Villa Master Suite. It was a huge one bedroom apartment with a separate bedroom, a large bath, full kitchen and a large combination dining/living area. The internet worked well. The apartment also had large outdoor balconies on two sides with ocean views. The food at Puri Wirata is delicious and reasonably priced. For those seeking variety, there are also many good restaurants and a grocery store within easy walking distance. During our stay there were a lot of caterpillars around the property. They were harmless but a bit of a nuisance. Some of them came into our room. I’m not sure whether the presence of the caterpillars was a normal event or something unusual. Although, in a very Balinese fashion, the local people seemed to be living in harmony with the caterpillars. We tried to do the same. Bali Reef Divers has a full service operation at Puri Wirata. I did four dives a day with them most days, including a couple of night dives. My wife did a few less dives because most of the dives required a shore entry and the sand and rocks were rough on her knees. Each dive, the divers from Puri Wirata travelled in the back of a pickup truck to either a central meeting point (often another Bali Reef Divers location) or directly to the beach. At some point the divers and their gear eventually all made it to same beach, mostly by pickup truck but occasionally by motorcycle. Everything is well orchestrated. I thought the whole process was great fun. Bali Reef Divers provides a very high level of personal service. For example, our dive guide, Sari, who is absolutely fantastic, made sure that someone (often him) carried my wife’s gear into the water to make it easier for her. In addition to many shore dives, we did one two tank boat dive. It was unlike any other boat dive I had ever done. Sari arranged for a fishing boat captain to pick us up on the beach after completing his early morning fishing trip. The boat was a modern version of a traditional Balinese fishing boat which is similar to a large canoe with outriggers. It was a unique experience and one of the highlights of our time in Bali. The black sand in Bali made the diving quite unique. There was also lot of unique marine life, especially on the night dives. Sari was able to plan and execute our dives to avoid having to swim against strong currents. Other than the usual challenges of shore entry diving, the diving was relaxed and quite enjoyable. The Liberty Wreck has to rate as one of the top wreck dives in the world. Sari made everything great fun. The best advice I can give anyone planning to dive in the Amed/Tulamben area is to try and dive with Sari. You will not be disappointed.

Liked: > Excellent location just next to the beach and pools > Excellent breakfast > Peaceful > The villa was spacious and full of what we need > Smart TV was great and big > Great for family and relaxation > Bathroom was excellent > welcome drink > Overall good behaviour of reception staff except for the senior staff during check in Disliked · I would have rated the property higher except for the below issues > The property charged 3% extra for credit card payment despite it was not mentioned whiled reserved through booking.com > The senior property executive's behavior was very rude during check in; despite booking with a kid and breakfast option (via booking.com), the person (along with another reception staff) started arguing that the kid is not entitled to breakfast and we can't expect free breakfast despite booking.com reservation says breakfast is included for all. The way the senior property staff behaved was unacceptable and he should learn how to behave to customers. It was surprising to get such behavior during check-in. I had to contact Booking.com to solve the issue and the property to change their mind (including the senior staff who then behave well).

This is our third time back but first time after Covid. The first time we searched for a good place for diving and good restaurant reviews and our eyes fell on this place. It absolutely does not disappoint! This time they had new menu card and I still dream about the fish kebab and the Belgian beer stew (can’t remember the name but you will find it). Also there were a lot of familiar faces and they even remembered us after three years. The place has a very pleasant and chill vibe. You can get massage (we did every day) and lots of different foods, drinks, shakes etc. There are also other restaurants around if you want to investigate but we spend the day diving and the evening sorting pictures and videos so didn’t test any. There is not much of a sandy beach but lovely pool areas that are newer crowded. There is a short walk/scooter ride to grocery. We usually got the dive crew to stop on the way home from diving if we wanted anything but otherwise spent most of our money in house as we know they need the money after lockdown. Also don’t forget to tip. There is a huge crew at work every day doing everything they can to make your stay perfect and since we are back for the third time they obviously do something right!

Our first time ever in Bali was a fantastic experience thanks to the location and comfort of Puri Wirata, plus the friendly and professional staff at Bali Reef Dive where my wife did her PADI Advanced course and I did some other dives. We came here based on the good reports of our teenage children who stayed here previously to do their Open Water course. The villa was clean, well-equipped, very comfortable and relaxing with a great view. There is nothing quite like being able to just walk down the short path and steps straight from your room to the beach and snorkel the surprisingly good reef in front of the resort without even having to cross a road. The food was excellent and we ended up eating dinner in-house almost every night (except the very first night, strangely, when the food was terrible - I think the chef must have been away. We gave it another chance and happily were not disappointed again for the whole week). Great cocktails and Balinese craft beer (or Bintang if you prefer) to accompany dinner, and very refreshing fruit juices at breakfast. The banana juice is amazing! The bed we found uncomfortably hard but then that is almost always the case for us in hotels because we have spoilt ourselves with a soft bed at home. Diving with the Bali Reef guys was excellent. Much appreciation to instructors Yuki and Ruben and all the local divemasters especially Dotcom and Guentong for making our week a wonderful and memorable experience.

Our last day at this beautiful place. The staff are simply amazing, so helpful and polite. The bungalow we have with sea view is perfect. Clean and everything you need in there. I had the most amazing massage at a reasonable price. On our anniversary our bed was covered in flowers and congratulations. All the food we have has been delicious. My husband has dived with the aid of the dive centre and was more than pleased with the service. 100% recommended.
