Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Griya Villas and Spa enjoys acclaim for its spacious rooms adorned with private pools and breathtaking views, though attention to cleanliness has been occasionally flagged. The hotel's amenities, including the private pools and delectable breakfasts, are a hit with guests, and the staff's attentive and friendly service frequently receives high marks. While the hotel's atmosphere is praised for its earthy design and inviting charm, some guests have noted maintenance and insect issues, and others advise vigilance against unexpected charges to ensure the stay is of good value.

Very nice place, good service and good food. The villas are first class and clean. The staff is friendly and considerate. The view from the hotel is unique. The airport shuttle was on time and the car was new and clean. Likewise the children were taken into account in every way

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Griya Villas. Location was superb for diving with many dive shops and dive sites just around the corner. Hotel staff did a wonderful job in accommodating all our wishes. They also went above and beyond to get our lost luggage from the airport. Food at the restaurant was tasty, nicely presented and great value for the money. We also appreciated a possibility to have breakfast at our villa, especially during the early mornings we went for a dive. Only drawback was very small flies(?) which occasionally bothered us during the night. Overall a great stay, excellent service at this interesting and less touristy part of Bali!

BLUFF: The hotel claims to have first-class facilities, but it's a lie, in villa 10 where I stayed, the rooms really need to be painted, the curtains, some of which are broken and others are broken and don't close completely, they never cleaned the swimming pool. my villa, they never changed the water in the tub for more than 48 hours, the employees are very lazy, I can't speak for all the employees being like that, they are just trying to see and snoop, in my experience I think Hannu the manager has to pay more attention to the service and quality of their guests, I believe there is some racism if it exists on the part of the hotel, let's remember that in any business the leader is the one who has to pay attention and motivate his team, really if you are European or from a country that interests them, then I believe they will treat you well, remind us that we are all equal in this life without distinction and favoritism, in fact They do not clean the room, animals everywhere, I understand that we are in the jungle and outdoors , but that is not an excuse to pay attention to those minimum details, in my own experience, the cleaning team said that I had left orders not to come to clean, which is a lie, my driver told them in their language to clean , and they never did it, in fact I am adding the poop that was on my sleeping bed, they switched off me for the air conditioning of one of the areas of the villa and they have no right to do it because they know that the heat here is strong, and When you arrive at your villa the only thing you want is to be comfortable, that is why you pay that amount. Don't get carried away by the photographs, quality and customer service is super elementary and basic to continue growing as a team. From my point of view, I believe Hannu, the manager, never communicated to offer any apology and to be able to address the issue as the manager that he is, a bit of Ego and greatness, let's remember that humble people are the ones who have the most, not the one who arrives trying to pretend. Please do your research properly next time and of course there are better places to stay and your vacation will be a success and you will enjoy it. much to be desired and disappointed. My review expressed it from heart and love so that we can continue growing in our lives as humans. no heart feelings. NO LEADERSHIP as a team. I will never stay in this place again.

From the first email with the owner/manager to the last goodbye we were treated like royalty! We were greeted on day one by Andy Wayan and a delicious refreshing drink before being driven to our villa which was STUNNING. A towel/flower arrangement was waiting in our room congratulating us on our wedding anniversary along with a cake in the fridge. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and they were all such gorgeous lovely people. During our stay we indulged in a private dinner by our pool for our anniversary, daily breakfast, drinks on the rooftop, quite a few dinners and a pamper session at the day spa. The staff organised a driver for us and the use of a scooter during our stay. The villa was flawless - plenty of room, private pool, jacuzzi, jaw dropping views, privacy, lush gardens that were so well maintained. The indoor/outdoor ensuite is just beautiful. The complex is in a great location with views to Lombok and Agung from the rooftop bar. It’s not too far from the heart of Amed but will require a scooter or driver. There’s so much positive information I want to share about this amazing place but I think the best I can say is, book it, book it and experience it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. I’d also love to single everyone of your staff Mr Martonen for recognition however I didn’t catch all their names. Suffice to say, all of the staff we encountered during our stay from the 2nd-7th Feb 24 were absolute fantastic and should be rewarded. The lady who conducted our special dinner, the ladies at breakfast, the rooftop staff and Andy Wayan in particular. We have only been back home for two weeks but are already working on our plan to return.

BLUF: I wouldn't recommend nor would I go back. This is a 3-star hotel at best. Lots of bugs in the bed, dead frog on the floor and insect poop everywhere. Lots of mosquitos, even saw a garden snake in the bathroom. Cleaning staff simply don't clean thoroughly or often enough. Food at the restaurant is excellent, but still not worth the other troubles. The gym is extremely outdated.

The resort and our stay was nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The day of our arrival I was out of cash because the atms in Amed don’t seem to accept foreign cards. The front desk loaned me his own money so I could pay our driver. The hotel then arranged for a driver to take us to the neighboring town (which is an hour away) to get money out of atm. The driver arranged overcharged us by a lot because I paid less for my driver to take us from Ubud to Amed with stops on the way then I did to take a driver to the neighboring town just to use the atm. This seems to be the case for all of Amed as it is not very touristy so they basically charge u whatever they want and u have to agree because there are no alternatives. I found Amed to not be very tourist friendly as compared to other places in Bali and would honestly give it a skip The resort itself is very nice. One of the things the hotel should improve is their shuttle service. They offer a free shuttle into Amed at certain times of the day but the pick up and drop off are like 4 hours apart. Idk who has 4 hour long dinners, and if u want to come back earlier then u have to arrange with driver and pay them extra. So although the hotel and stay was nice certain things need to be improved

Amazing place with the best views in Amed. Staff were excellent and attentive and the manager was hospitable and accomodating. Food was also fantastic. A minor gripe would be the mosquitoes - but what can you expect from hillside accoms! Would make this a yearly getaway.

Our recent 4D/3N family trip to Griya Villas and Spa was the escape that we needed from the hustle and bustle of city life. The transport to the villa took approx. 2.5hrs from the airport, but the pitstops and arrival made it worthwhile. The warm welcome, earthly design, and attention to detail made our stay exceptional. The spacious bedrooms with the private stunning pool and sea/hill sights were the highlights. The villa itself provided relaxation and fun for both adults and children. The villa's commitment to sustainability practices also left a lasting impression on us. The culinary experience was a gastronomic delight. We had our dinner at SAfka Restaurant and Terrace and the menu was quite a variety. There were Balinese dance performances during dinner and a starry clear sky view on top of the terrace. It was kid friendly and they had an ample variety of choices to select from. The concierge service facilitated seamless arrangements to local attractions, adding cultural and adventurous elements to our stay. In summary, Griya Villa and Spa surpassed our expectations, offering a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and adventure. We had a first hand experience of the authentic traditional outstanding service from everyone we met. Highly recommended for honeymooners or families seeking a tranquil and indulgent retreat or for anyone who wants an escape to find peace and relaxation. We wished we could have stayed longer. Do expect our return Griya Villa and Spa!

My wife and I stayed at the Griya at the end of our beautiful Honeymoon in Bali to enjoy the fantastic snorkeling in Amed and to prepare for the return journey home. First off, the Griya is an absolutely stunning resort, its location, in the still not-too-touristy Amed was such a respite from Ubud and Seminyak! The villa we stayed in was private, clean, and had stunning views of Lipah beach from the private pool and bed! The resort amenities were nothing to ignore either, the food was delectable and was available throughout the day at convenient hours, the spa was honestly the best massage (deep tissue specifically) either my wife or I experienced in Bali, and the staff were incredibly friendly and kind. The only downside was the mosquitoes. There were a LOT of mosquitoes and in the 1-bedroom villa, the restroom and shower are open air it was difficult to stay un-bitten. Fortunately, the resort provided ample mosquito spray so we never felt that it detracted from our experience. We could not recommend staying at the Griya enough and look forward to coming back soon for a longer stay to enjoy the resort and the amazing snorkeling Amed has to offer!

It's hard to describe how amazing these Villas are. They are huge with beautiful gardens with everything you need and spotlesslyclean. The main attraction has to be the private pool overlooking the most sensational view. The staff were friendly and so helpful and and the food and cocktails were great. The resort really does a great job . Definitely the best in Amed in our view.
